Chapter 785: Chapter 785 A Calculated Deception

Colin Ava’s expression shifted, his voice turning icy. "What are you getting at?"

I let out a harsh laugh. "You think I’d fall for your bullshit? That poison antidote recipe you handed me is riddled with holes. It’s not just fake—it’ll make the poison worse!"

"Colin Ava, I bet you’ve passed this bogus formula to plenty of people, haven’t you?"

A flash of fear crossed Colin Ava’s face as he stammered, "You... stop spouting nonsense!"

I pressed on. "You snatched that formula from Wesley Thornton, didn’t you?"

Colin Ava’s face went white as a sheet!

"I have no clue how you managed to trick Wesley Thornton into trusting you." I smirked coldly.

Colin Ava shouted, "You... quit making things up! I... I never did that!"

"Never?" I arched an eyebrow.

"Colin Ava, you sick bastard. You didn’t just steal the formula from Wesley Thornton—you set him up to get killed!" My voice was ice-cold.

"To eliminate competition, you spread lies at the Medicine Storage, claiming I had the concentric pill formula. You wanted me dead, right?"

Sweat beaded on Colin Ava’s forehead.

He panicked, blurting out, "I didn’t! Stop making accusations! You’re framing me!"

I sneered. "Whether I’m framing you or not, I know one thing—the concentric pill formula Wesley Thornton had was missing pieces!"

"An incomplete concentric pill formula doesn’t just fail to work—it makes the poison explode inside your body!"

"Colin Ava, are you trying to kill Mr. Maxwayne?"

Colin Ava’s eyes went wide, and he stuttered, "Wh...what? The formula’s incomplete?"

The moment those words left his mouth, I couldn’t help but grin.

Colin Ava realized his mistake instantly, his face draining of color!

I raised an eyebrow. "So you’re confessing?"

Herman Maxwayne, who’d been standing nearby, lunged forward and grabbed Colin Ava by the throat. "Talk! Is what Mason’s saying true or not!"

"No...no, he...he’s lying!" Colin Ava wheezed.

I sneered from the sidelines. "I’ve spelled it out clearly. If Mr. Maxwayne takes that pill, he’ll drop dead instantly."

Herman Maxwayne’s anxiety spiked. He tightened his grip on Colin Ava’s neck, teeth clenched. "Is Mason telling the truth or not! If something happens to my dad after he takes this pill, I’ll make sure you suffer!"

Colin Ava was falling apart now, trembling as he spoke. "Mr...Mr. Maxwayne, I...I did steal Wesley Thornton’s formula, but...I had no idea it was incomplete! I didn’t know an incomplete formula could kill!"

"Mr. Maxwayne, I swear I never meant to harm Mr. Maxwayne!"

Herman Maxwayne roared, "You piece of shit!"

Herman Maxwayne’s hand cracked across Colin Ava’s face!

The pill Colin Ava had offered got crushed under Herman Maxwayne’s fist!

Seeing this, relief washed over me.

Truth was, everything I’d said was pure guesswork.

Wesley Thornton’s formula wasn’t incomplete at all—I’d just used that lie to trap Colin Ava.

That day, I’d successfully located the formula in Wesley Thornton’s room.

But I’d already figured Colin Ava had the formula too, so I deliberately planted those words to destroy his credibility.

This way, only I would have the concentric pill.

"Get him out of here!" Herman Maxwayne waved dismissively.

Several men stepped forward, dragging Colin Ava away like garbage.

Only I remained at the scene. Tilda Maxwayne smiled at me. "Mason, you have the complete concentric pill formula, right?"

"Absolutely." I smiled back.

I flipped my palm and produced the concentric pill.

Then I handed the pill to Tilda Maxwayne.

Tilda Maxwayne took the pill and examined it carefully before nodding. "This is definitely the concentric pill."

"Thank God." Herman Maxwayne exhaled in relief.

He looked at me. "Come with me. When my father wakes up, the Maxwayne family will definitely reward you."

I nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Maxwayne."

I followed the three Averys to a villa.

Mr. Maxwayne lay in a sunroom on the villa’s top floor.

Multiple bodyguards stood watch, and the door was made from special materials.

The door opened to reveal a spacious room with just one large bed. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Sunlight streamed through the glass, creating a comfortable atmosphere.

Herman Maxwayne brought the concentric pill to Mr. Maxwayne and gently placed it in his mouth.

I waited quietly nearby.

Time crawled by. After about ten minutes, Mr. Maxwayne finally began stirring on the bed.

His eyes snapped open, followed by violent coughing!

"Dad!"

The three Averys rushed forward to support Mr. Maxwayne.

"Dad, you’re finally awake!"

Mr. Maxwayne couldn’t stop coughing, and Tilda Maxwayne gently rubbed his back.

Minutes later, Mr. Maxwayne suddenly spat out black blood.

The blood reeked with a terrible stench, as if poison was oozing from it.

My eyes narrowed as I summoned a wisp of spiritual fire.

The flame touched the blood, instantly vaporizing it.

After expelling that mouthful of blood, Mr. Maxwayne looked much better.

"Dad, how are you feeling now?" The three Maxwayne siblings asked anxiously.

Mr. Maxwayne glanced around in confusion. "What happened to me?"

"Dad, you’ve been unconscious for years." The siblings explained everything to Mr. Maxwayne.

I didn’t linger in the room. I turned and walked out immediately.

——

"Why’d you come out?" The man with the mustache asked, confused.

Mason Raymond shrugged. "It’s a touching family reunion. Why should I stick around?"

"What about the Power of Martial Saint? Did they agree?" The man with the mustache pressed.

Mason Raymond shook his head. "I haven’t brought it up yet, but I’m not worried. They’ll come to me."

Some things couldn’t be rushed.

After returning to their place, Mason Raymond and the man with the mustache waited quietly in their room.

When darkness fell, Tilda Maxwayne came to the room in person.
