Chapter 784: Chapter 784 Never Believed Your Lies
A few more golden cores would make cultivation perfect.
"Getting the Power of Martial Saint would let me crush the Purple Flame Sect and grab plenty of golden cores," I thought quietly.
Taking down all the nearby forces would be even better.
I burned the corpses with spiritual fire, then headed to bed.
Morning came.
I made my way back to the Medicine Storage.
The place looked emptier today - most folks had already grabbed their herbs.
Colin Ava was picking through herbs when I got there.
I walked up and tapped his shoulder. "What are the odds?"
He spun around fast, surprise flickering across his face when he spotted me.
"Mr. Raymond... what brings you here?" Colin asked automatically.
I chuckled. "Herb picking, same as you. What else?"
Colin forced out a smile. "Me... same thing."
He quickly snatched a few herbs and bolted from the spot.
Watching him rush off, I couldn’t help but smirk.
Today was the final day, and the Pill masters were making their plays.
Pill Clouds kept forming across the manor, showing that plenty of people had successfully made their Pills.
"Can’t drag my feet anymore," I thought.
I pulled out my medicinal cauldron and lit the spiritual fire with my palm to begin refining.
From dawn to dusk, I finally cracked my eyes open slowly.
I stood up gradually, a thread of qi flowing from my palms.
This qi thread drifted down into the medicinal cauldron.
My pupils contracted suddenly, and I whispered, "The Pill’s ready!"
"Boom!"
A thunderous crash exploded in the room!
A massive, colorful cloud burst into the sky at the same moment!
This Pill Harrison grabbed everyone’s attention instantly!
People stared up at the sky, amazed by the Pill Harrison’s beauty.
"A Pill Harrison like that has to be something special!"
"Wow, looks like the Maxwayne Family Manor really does have masters!"
The sky’s Pill Harrison hung around for ages before slowly fading away.
A Pill materialized in my palm at the same time.
The thing was pitch black and reeked something awful.
It sure didn’t look like any Divine Rank Pill.
"Is that the concentric pill?" the mustached man stepped closer and asked.
I shook my head. "Nope, I don’t even have that formula."
"Then what’s that thing?" The mustached man looked puzzled.
I answered coolly, "It’s a substitute."
"A dispel poison pill?" The mustached man pressed.
I shook my head but kept quiet.
I tucked the Pill away and sat tight for tomorrow.
The next morning.
Pill masters crowded the square early.
The mustached man and I showed up at the square.
Three days back, dozens of people filled this square.
Today, maybe ten people stuck around.
"Looks like these three days turned into a bloodbath," I commented.
While we talked, I spotted Colin Ava nearby. I headed straight for him.
"Mr. Ava, get your pill done?" I asked casually.
Colin laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, it’s finished. You?"
I grinned. "Same here. Mind if I check out your pill?"
Colin’s face shifted, and he shook his head quickly. "My skills stink, I won’t show it..."
I smiled, not pushing it.
Everyone gathered on the square, waiting for the Maxwayne family to show.
Around ten minutes passed.
The three Maxwayne siblings arrived right on schedule.
Herman Maxwayne scanned everyone and said flatly, "Three days are done. Congrats to everyone who made a pill."
Herman looked over at Tilda Maxwayne beside him.
Tilda smiled right away. "Everyone, we’re collecting the pills now. Please show us what you’ve got."
As soon as she finished, many Pill masters pulled out their pills.
I wasn’t rushing anything, just stood there quietly.
Colin did the same, eyes half-closed and not budging.
"Mr. Ava, how come you haven’t shown your pill yet?" I asked.
Colin opened his eyes and smiled. "No rush."
I didn’t push for more answers after seeing that.
Up above.
Tilda took the pills from everyone, but disappointment kept flashing in her eyes.
"This isn’t a concentric pill."
"We need a concentric pill. You should keep this one."
"Sorry."
One by one, the Pill masters got turned away, disappointment written all over their faces.
Lucky for them, the Maxwayne family stayed decent - even the failures got good money.
Soon, just Colin and I remained on the square.
"Mr. Raymond, why haven’t you left yet?" Colin asked, confused.
I smiled. "We both got the same pill, right? You gave me the formula, so you should go first."
Colin chuckled. "That’s fair, that’s fair."
Colin walked toward Tilda.
I followed right behind him.
By now, the Maxwayne siblings looked like they’d run out of patience.
Herman frowned. "Is your pill a concentric pill? If not, don’t bother showing it."
Colin smiled calmly. "You’ll see whether it is or not."
Colin flipped his palm, and a pill dropped into his hand.
Tilda took the pill and studied it carefully.
Surprise crossed her face, and she finally shouted excitedly, "It really is a concentric pill! Brother, this is actually a concentric pill!"
"Really?" Herman grabbed it fast.
He examined it closely and exclaimed, "It definitely is a concentric pill!"
Colin said proudly, "Of course!"
I frowned beside him. "Mr. Ava, didn’t you say you didn’t have the formula, only the dispel poison pill formula? You... you lied to me?"
Colin sneered. "Idiot, you think I’d tell you the truth? I gave you the dispel poison pill formula just to throw you off!"
I sighed. "So Wesley Thornton’s info was also leaked on purpose by you, just to get him killed, right?"
"Hey, you can’t just make accusations." Colin didn’t admit it, but his meaning was crystal clear.
I sighed for a moment. "Colin Ava, you really kept that hidden deep."
Colin scoffed. "That’s called deception in war."
"Yeah, deception in war." I nodded slightly.
A cold smile flashed across my face right then.
"Good thing I never believed your lies from the start." I grinned, showing all my white teeth.
