Chapter 772: Chapter 772 A Betrayal For Unseen Eyes
Phoebe Billy had no clue about any of this.
I walked straight up to Phoebe Billy, then suddenly froze in my tracks.
"What’s wrong?" Phoebe asked.
I squinted, my eyebrows knitting together tightly.
Before Phoebe could ask anything else, I dropped my voice and said, "Hit me."
"What?" Phoebe went rigid.
"Hit me now, don’t ask questions!" I growled.
After saying this, I gripped the Golden Light in my fist and threw a punch at Phoebe!
The punch smashed straight through Phoebe’s chest! His whole body went flying sideways!
Right after that, I kept hold of the Golden Light and said coldly, "Phoebe Billy, you dare face me alone? Are you even worthy to be my opponent!"
Phoebe collapsed on the ground in complete agony.
Blood kept pouring from his mouth, creating a gruesome sight.
With Phoebe’s current power, he couldn’t even come close to matching me, not even getting a chance to fight back!
Before Phoebe could react, I had already moved forward!
I grabbed Phoebe’s collar and threw him hard toward a specific spot!
This spot was exactly where the man in the purple robe was hiding!
"Not good!" The man in the purple robe’s expression changed completely. He jumped up quickly and disappeared from Qinvor Mountain at incredible speed.
Only after the man in the purple robe had totally vanished did I let go of the killing intent around me.
After making sure no one else was around, I reached out to help Phoebe up.
I pressed my palm against Phoebe’s chest and began feeding my spiritual energy into him.
It took a full ten minutes before Phoebe’s chest wound started getting slightly better.
"What... what just happened?" Phoebe couldn’t help but ask angrily.
"I really thought you were going to kill me!"
I looked around and said coldly, "Someone’s been watching you."
"What?" Phoebe’s face went white instantly.
I stomped the ground and said, "Right here, someone was hiding just now."
"If I hadn’t done this, you would’ve been completely blown."
Phoebe’s face showed signs of worry.
If this got exposed, it would definitely mean certain death!
"Think hard, who might be suspicious of you?" I asked with furrowed brows.
Phoebe frowned deeply, thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I don’t know. I really can’t figure it out."
I spoke quietly, "Don’t stress about it. Since they sent someone to follow you, they’re probably planning to make trouble for you in the next few days. You’ll find out who they are then."
Phoebe frowned and said, "But... if I didn’t die by your hand, wouldn’t that seem suspicious?"
This was something I hadn’t thought about.
I rubbed my chin, walked back and forth, then said, "If anyone asks, just tell them you agreed to give me a rare herb in exchange for your life."
"Also, when you go to the Capital City Martial Arts Association tomorrow, start collecting herbs right away. Take control first and twist tonight’s story to work in your favor."
Phoebe nodded and said, "Alright, I get it."
"Next time something happens, contact me." I reminded him.
Phoebe nodded and said, "Got it."
"Let’s talk about something important now," I said as I sat down on a broken stone.
Phoebe spoke seriously, "Today, the senior officials held a meeting. The topic of that meeting was you."
"Oh?" I raised my eyebrows, signaling Phoebe to keep going.
Phoebe continued, "For now, they won’t move against you. It looks like they’re waiting for Ms. Zackary."
"Just like I thought," I laughed coldly.
Those senior officials are definitely being careful.
"That’s not the main thing," Phoebe switched topics.
"From my digging today, it seems the eight senior officials can’t act personally."
He then told me the whole situation in detail.
After listening, my brow furrowed deeply.
These eight senior officials, not only are they mysterious, but they also can’t act personally. What could be behind this?
"Maybe Ms. Zackary knows their secrets," Phoebe suggested.
I took a deep breath and nodded, "Right, if they can’t act personally, then I’m safer for now."
If those eight senior officials acted personally, I wouldn’t have a prayer of surviving.
"By the way, what’s happening with Ms. Zackary now?" I asked.
Phoebe replied, "She shouldn’t wake up anytime soon. Word is that the hit she took almost killed her."
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but laugh coldly.
The one who hit her was a Guardian! Their strength goes way beyond even a mighty realm cultivator; how could it possibly compare to the Peak Form of Military Marquis?
"Alright, I understand." I stood up and said.
"You should go back. Remember, figure out as fast as possible who’s suspicious of you."
Phoebe nodded, "Alright, I’ll keep that in mind."
After splitting up with Phoebe, I turned and left Qinvor Mountain.
The next day.
I left Capital City, with the man with the mustache coming along, heading toward the Divine Alchemist Pavilion.
When I got to the Divine Alchemist Pavilion’s gates, countless alchemists rushed to welcome me.
"Master Raymond, you’re back!" A bunch of alchemists pushed forward, surrounding me.
"Mason Raymond, you’ve definitely been causing quite a stir lately." Right then, the Fifth Elder came over too.
I smiled wryly, "Fifth Elder, please don’t make fun of me."
"I’m not making fun," the Fifth Elder replied with an eye roll.
"I always knew you had potential, but I never thought you’d grow this much."
I responded with a forced laugh and then asked, "By the way, where is Lord Pavilion Master?"
"He’s waiting for you in the Pavilion Master Building," the Fifth Elder said.
I nodded and quickly headed toward the Pavilion Master Building.
At the bottom of the Pavilion Master Building.
I glanced at the man with the mustache and said, "Wait for me here. I’ll be down in a bit."
The man with the mustache waved impatiently, "Alright, alright, I know. Stop being such a nag already."
His eyes darted around, full of cunning and greed.
I ignored him and stomped the ground, going up to the Pavilion Master Building.
On the edge of the Pavilion Master Building, the Pavilion Master and Paul Randall were drinking tea.
I quickly walked over, bowed slightly, and said, "Greetings, Lord Pavilion Master and Senior Randall."
"Sit down," the Pavilion Master gestured casually.
I sat across from the Pavilion Master and said with a smile, "Lord Pavilion Master, whatever you need me to do, just tell me."
The Pavilion Master didn’t answer directly but instead said, "Your fight with the Heaven Swallowing Python was truly earth-shaking."
I replied with a wry smile, "I’m actually pretty worried now. Once the Heaven Swallowing Python recovers, it’ll definitely come after me again."
"The Power of Martial Saint that it has is something I can’t handle."
The Pavilion Master chuckled and said, "Then why don’t you just run away?"
I shook my head with a bitter smile, "Run? I have to defeat it to get a meeting with Mabel Sean. If I miss this chance, who knows how long I’ll have to wait for the next one."
Hearing this, the Pavilion Master and Paul Randall shared a knowing smile.
Seeing their reaction, I couldn’t help but say with some surprise, "Lord Pavilion Master, do you have a solution?"
