Chapter 749: Chapter 749 A Choice Between Two Deaths

"Shut up," I said coldly.

I shoved Violet Seth to the side and turned to Pat Noble. "Mr. Noble, have you heard of the Ice Palace?"

Pat Noble gave a small nod. "Yes, the Ice Palace had quite a reputation years ago. Word is that several top Martial Saints slumber within their sect."

"Though I can’t say if that’s actually true."

"Slumbering Martial Saints? What’s that supposed to mean?" I didn’t quite get it.

The mustached man next to me jumped in with an explanation. "When they say the Martial Saints are slumbering, they mean fragments of their souls remain behind. They’re there to protect the sect from total destruction."

"Exactly right," Pat Noble confirmed.

"I’ll be straight with you - our Noble family operates the same way."

That’s when it clicked for me.

No wonder Pat Noble wasn’t worried about the Capital City Martial Arts Association in Downton City!

"Mason, you should watch yourself. The Ice Palace isn’t something to mess around with," Pat Noble cautioned.

I waved him off. "It’s fine. If they’re just slumbering Martial Saints, there’s nothing to worry about."

"Actually... I’m pretty excited about them sending more people my way," I said casually.

For me, absorbing golden cores was the quickest path to getting stronger.

So the more enemies showed up, the faster I could advance.

After finishing our meal at the Noble residence, I brought Violet Seth along and headed back to my place.

——

Once they were settled in the mansion, Mason poured himself some tea. "Violet Seth, I’m offering you a way to stay alive, but you’ll need to follow my orders."

By this point, Violet Seth had gotten some of her strength back.

She batted her eyes and put on a sweet voice. "Fine, whatever you need me to do, I’ll listen."

Mason took a sip of his tea, his tone flat. "I need to know why the Ice Palace stole this mask and... how they plan to use it."

"You want me to spy for you?" A flash of fear crossed Violet Seth’s face.

Mason Raymond nodded slightly. "That’s one way to put it."

Violet Seth’s brow furrowed. "No way. If the sect master catches on, he’ll execute me."

"You think I won’t kill you?" Mason Raymond’s voice turned icy.

Violet Seth’s expression darkened, and a sly gleam appeared in her eyes.

"I’ll play along for now. Once I’m out of here, I’m never coming back!" she plotted silently.

"Don’t even think about trying to fool me." But Mason had seen right through her scheme.

——

After I said that, I lifted my fingers and sent a golden light shooting toward Violet Seth’s forehead.

Violet Seth’s expression shifted. She tried to fight back, but in her current condition, resistance was impossible.

The golden mark sank into Violet’s forehead, and the light kept boring deeper into her mind.

The searing pain made Violet Seth gasp and shake uncontrollably.

"What... what did you do to me!" Violet Seth cried out in agony.

I chuckled softly. "I fused the mark with your divine sense. If you want to remove it, you’ll have to destroy your own divine sense."

"You!" Violet Seth’s face went ashen!

She clenched her jaw. "You’re absolutely ruthless!"

I smirked. "Of course, you could also choose to stay loyal to the Ice Palace, and I can end you right now."

As I spoke, I got up.

My body radiated cold energy, and my killing intent was enough to make anyone’s blood freeze.

Faced with death, Violet Seth finally cracked.

She quickly said, "I’ll do it! But I don’t know if our sect master will share anything with me."

I smiled. "That’s your problem to solve. Oh, and let me remind you - if you can’t dig up any information, I can destroy your divine sense whenever I want."

Violet Seth ground her teeth. "I understand."

Only then did I nod with satisfaction.

"Hold on, I’ll get your strength back soon." I stood up and went to my room.

About an hour passed.

I came back out with several pills in my hand.

"Take these pills, and you can go," I said.

Violet Seth eyed me suspiciously. "What are these?"

"Relax, they’re for restoring your Inner Strength. If I wanted you dead, I wouldn’t bother with all this trouble." I rolled my eyes.

That seemed to make sense to Violet, so she took the pill and swallowed it.

The moment the pill hit her stomach, her Inner Strength started coming back slowly.

Soon enough, Violet Seth was back to full strength.

"Mason, I really should have killed you when I had the chance!" Violet Seth glared at me, seething with rage.

I sneered. "Don’t forget what I told you. I’m not messing around here."

Violet Seth huffed, spun around, and walked out without another word.

After she left, I did some quick math.

Only five days remained until my appointment with the Heaven Swallowing Python.

"Time to head back to Capital City," I took a deep breath. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

As long as I beat the Heaven Swallowing Python this time, I’d find out where Mabel Sean was stuck in the Mystic Realm!

Then I’d have a way to save Mabel Sean!

The following day.

I came to the main hall of the Noble Family along with the mustached man, Watson Thompson, and the others.

"Ready to head out?" Pat Noble asked.

I bowed slightly. "Yes, thank you for putting us up all this time, Mr. Noble."

But Pat Noble waved me off. "I wasn’t taking care of you. I was just looking out for the Noble Family."

"Mason, come back and visit when you get the chance," Guy Noble said with a grin.

I smiled back. "Don’t worry, Mr. Guy Noble, I’ll definitely stop by when I can."

After saying goodbye to the Noble Family, the mustached man, and I hit the road back to Capital City.

——

Capital City.

Ever since Leticia’s fight with Paul Randall, his reputation had shot through the roof.

Almost everyone now saw him as the number one fighter.

Even Alberto Sean, who used to be the top dog, had been overshadowed by him.

Though Leticia and Alberto Sean had never actually fought each other, people generally gave Leticia the edge.

Despite being annoyed, Alberto Sean wasn’t in any rush.

"Young Master Sean, are you really not as strong as that Leticia?" an attendant beside Alberto Sean questioned.

Alberto Sean scoffed. "Not as strong as him? He’s just a beast. What right does he have to compete with me?"

"But... everyone outside thinks Leticia’s power is greater than yours," someone pointed out.

Alberto Sean sneered. "How could these insects understand the power of bloodlines?"

"Sure, Earth-Rank Demonic Beasts are typically stronger than humans, but these so-called Demonic Beasts are nothing when faced with bloodline power!"

As he spoke, Alberto Sean brought his hands together, gathering a burst of energy.

He gently pressed his palms forward, and the Black Gold Stone in front of him crumbled instantly!

"This is bloodline power," Alberto Sean said coldly.
