Chapter 729: Chapter 729 A Party Of Hidden Masters
I put away my phone and stopped watching.
Who would win between Leticia and Paul Randall? I wasn’t sure, but deep down, I was leaning toward Paul Randall.
More and more secrets kept coming to light, and I slowly realized Paul Randall wasn’t the top dog in Pyro. Neither was Ignacio Richard.
They were just the strongest guys everyone could see. But how many masters were hiding in the shadows? That was anyone’s guess.
Take the Ice Palace last time. They casually sent out a Marquis who’d reached Peak Military Marquis Realm!
God knows how many more masters they’ve got tucked away.
About ten minutes later, we all got on the plane to Downton City.
Downton City sat near the border, so the flight took seven hours.
By the time we landed, evening had rolled around.
Winter or not, stepping off that plane hit us with waves of heat.
Short skirts and tank tops everywhere on the streets. No sign of winter here.
"The weather in Downton City’s really something," I said, taking a deep breath of that sea breeze rolling in.
Had to admit, Downton City was a vacation paradise.
"Watson, want to hit the beach and mess around?" I asked Watson Thompson, the youngest in our group.
Watson shook her head. "Not interested."
I couldn’t help but smirk at that.
The Watson now and the one from before seemed like two totally different people.
"Hey, looks like there’s some party going on over there. Let’s go check it out," the man with the mustache said, all excited.
Following where he pointed, sure enough, not far off on the beach, there was singing, dancing, and music going strong.
"Someone’s throwing a party," I said.
The man with the mustache muttered, "Don’t you know? Downton City’s like rich kid paradise. All these second-generation brats come here to flash their cash."
"Car races, horse races, big parties - totally normal here."
"They even bring in celebrities for this stuff."
I wasn’t really into all that.
I pulled out the map Michelle Sect gave me and compared it with where we were.
The spot where those ten-thousand-year-old herbs were supposed to show up didn’t look too far from here.
And according to Alexa Madron, we had exactly one week before the herbs appeared.
"Let’s go take a look," I said.
The man with the mustache nodded fast. "Yeah, I’ll follow you over and grab some food. Damn, hanging with you makes me hungry all the time."
So the three of us headed to the party.
The party was open to everyone. Pretty much anyone could join.
Food and drinks everywhere, young guys and girls dancing wild, letting loose.
Watson didn’t seem too into it. She grabbed my arm and found us a spot to sit.
The man with the mustache, though? He jumped right in and started dancing with some girls.
"Didn’t you used to love car racing?" I looked at Watson and asked with a smile.
Watson said, "That was before. Now I think it’s pretty childish."
I couldn’t help but shrug.
Yeah, if Watson really had gotten her memory back, car racing would seem pretty dumb to her.
"I really wonder if that masked woman and Watson are the same person," I thought to myself.
If Watson was the masked woman’s reincarnation, her personality shouldn’t change. At least not this much.
"Really weird." I shook my head.
Then I looked around.
I let my divine sense spread out, covering more than half the party.
Soon, I found something off.
Everyone at the party seemed happy, like they were just living it up.
But I discovered this party had tons of martial artists hiding in it!
Eighteen Grandmasters, more than twenty Military Marquises, and even three people whose strength I couldn’t figure out!
That was enough to tell me those three were stronger than me!
I pulled back my divine sense, but felt several other divine senses sweep over me.
Eyes narrowing, I immediately looked in a certain direction.
There, I saw a young guy at a nearby table, staring coldly at me.
Our eyes met for a second before we both looked away.
"Something’s not right," I frowned.
How could this small party have so many top experts?
More than twenty peak Military Marquises - that kind of force was crazy strong!
"Looks like someone’s had their eye on those ten-thousand-year-old herbs for a while," I thought.
——
Not far away, a young man silently watched Mason.
"Who is that guy?" the young man asked the person beside him.
The other young man lowered his head and replied, "Mr. Tenny, that’s Mason Raymond."
"Mason Raymond?" The one called Mr. Tenny raised his eyebrows slightly.
"The same Mason Raymond who stirred up trouble in Capital City?"
"Yes, Mr. Tenny." The young man beside him bowed and replied.
Mr. Tenny swirled the wine glass in his hand and sneered, "Interesting. Go invite him over. Tell him I want to have a drink with him."
"Yes, Mr. Tenny."
Mr. Tenny’s attendant hurried toward Mason’s direction.
——
"Mr. Raymond, our Mr. Tenny invites you to join him," the attendant said politely.
I glanced at him and asked, "Who’s your Mr. Tenny?"
Hearing this, the attendant couldn’t help but say proudly, "Our Mr. Tenny is the son of Downton City’s lord, Guy Noble."
"Guy Noble?" I frowned.
Never heard that name before.
I took a quick look at the attendant in front of me. I was shocked to find this attendant was also a peak Military Marquis.
As for that Mr. Tenny, he was already mid-stage Military Marquis!
"Didn’t expect this small Downton City would have such hidden experts," I said quietly.
After thinking it over, I finally agreed.
After all, those ten-thousand-year-old herbs were supposed to appear here. Getting to know Guy Noble might not be a bad idea.
I walked toward Guy’s direction with Watson Thompson.
"Mr. Tenny, Mr. Raymond has arrived," the attendant announced.
Guy waved his hand, telling the attendant to leave.
Then Guy looked at me, raised his eyebrows, and asked: "You’re Mason Raymond?"
"That’s right," I replied confidently, staying calm.
Guy handed me a bottle of beer, then said casually, "I heard you were pretty tough in Capital City. Didn’t even care about the major families?"
I replied politely, "That’s just talk. Even rabbits bite when they’re cornered."
Guy snorted lightly. He chuckled and said, "Mason, I don’t care how big you were in Capital City, but here in Downton City, I call the shots. Got it?"
Then Guy pointed around and added: "See this? I’m hosting this party! All these martial artists around here are mine!"
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but feel a bit shocked.
Those twenty-plus peak Military Marquises were all from the Noble Family?
"Last year, some rich brat from Capital City tried to show off to me. I broke both his legs and threw him in the ocean," Guy mentioned casually.
"Only after his dad came with expensive gifts and apologized did I let it slide," Guy continued.
Seeing Guy’s arrogant look, I couldn’t help but frown.
This Guy Noble really liked showing off.
But... the fact that the Noble Family could train so many peak Military Marquises meant they had some real skills!
"Could there be some secret to Downton City?" I wondered.
With that thought, I decided to try getting some information out of Guy.
After all, Guy didn’t seem too smart.
