Chapter 727: Chapter 727 The Calling Of The Ring

The whole tomb filled with freezing gusts of wind, and I knew for certain that the wind was heading directly toward Watson Thompson!

I didn’t think twice. I grabbed Watson’s hand and hurried toward the wall’s indentation.

Watson’s hand felt freezing cold, like gripping a chunk of ice.

After walking for some time, Watson and I finally reached the indent.

I flicked my finger, lighting a spiritual fire for illumination.

In the weak light, Watson looked somewhat ghostly.

Her face was deathly pale, and her eyes seemed vacant and unfocused.

"Watson?" I called out hesitantly.

Like waking from a trance, Watson looked at me and frowned, asking, "Where are we? Why do I feel so weird..."

"Weird feeling? What exactly are you feeling?" I asked urgently.

But Watson didn’t answer. She ignored me and moved forward.

She pressed her palm against the wall and slowly felt around, like she was searching for something.

A few minutes passed, then Watson’s hand suddenly froze at one particular spot.

Her hand glowed with light, and she slammed her palm right into that spot!

The wall crumbled immediately, showing rubble underneath.

In the rubble sat a small ring.

The ring was completely green, its dim and eerie glow flickering in the darkness.

Watson picked up the ring and whispered, "This ring... it feels like it’s calling to me."

"Calling you?" I was shocked.

"But I get the feeling that I shouldn’t take this ring with me. It’s like there are two voices fighting in my heart." Watson’s voice shook slightly.

The next moment, pain crossed her face.

"Ah... my head is killing me..." Watson clutched her hair with both hands, her face twisted in agony.

I quickly moved to support Watson, asking anxiously, "Watson, are you okay?"

Watson didn’t listen to me; she kept holding her head, looking incredibly tortured.

"Buzz!"

Right then, the ring suddenly burst with light.

The light shot straight at Watson’s temples!

Not knowing what this light could do, I quickly reached out, trying to block it to prevent any harm.

But the light moved too fast, instantly vanishing into Watson’s temples.

"Watson!" I rushed to support her, worry covering my face.

Watson stood there quietly, not saying a word.

"Watson?" I called out cautiously again, but she still didn’t answer.

After a pause, Watson raised her head, her cold eyes locking onto me.

Her stare looked exactly like that masked woman’s, completely spine-chilling!

"Are you okay?" I had a terrible feeling.

Watson stayed quiet, staring at me coldly.

An extremely frigid aura poured from her body, making even me feel a touch of fear.

"I’m fine." Watson finally spoke.

She took the ring and slipped it onto her middle finger.

Then, she turned around without another word and walked away.

I felt completely lost, and all I could do was follow behind Watson.

We eventually left the tomb, and the second we got out, the tomb suddenly collapsed!

Not far off, the man with the mustache rushed over and asked carefully, "How are you two? Everything alright?"

Before I could speak, Watson gave the man with the mustache a cold look.

Feeling Watson’s icy stare, the man with the mustache automatically stepped back twice, his expression growing more serious.

"I’ve seen you before." Watson looked at the man with the mustache, speaking coldly.

Hearing her words, the man with the mustache shook violently!

"We... We just met a little while ago." the man with the mustache stuttered.

Without saying anything, Watson just gave him another cold glance.

The man with the mustache quickly looked away, staying quiet.

Watson also said nothing more, turning and walking off.

I frowned, stepping forward to block Watson’s path.

"Watson, what’s wrong with you? What are you feeling?" I asked.

Watson looked at me and said, "I’m fine—Mason, thank you for looking after me."

"What?" I got even more confused.

Watson seemed to frown, shaking her head and saying, "Forget it, I don’t know why I said that either. Just act like you didn’t hear it."

This only made me more confused. I knitted my eyebrows and asked, "Did you remember something, or maybe... memories that aren’t yours showing up in your head?"

"No, you don’t need to worry." Watson answered briefly.

I automatically glanced at the man with the mustache, but right then, he looked panicked, his face covered in cold sweat.

"Where’s my stuff?" Watson suddenly asked.

From the situation, she was clearly asking about the mask.

"The mask isn’t safe with you, so I decided to hold onto it for you temporarily," I answered.

However, Watson responded coldly, "It’s safest in my hands."

Before her words even finished, I felt the Spatial Magic Artifact shaking.

The next moment, the mask actually flew out of the Spatial Magic Artifact and landed in Watson’s hand.

Watson touched the mask, whispering, "How odd... What kind of feeling is this?"

"What feeling?" I asked urgently.

Watson shook her head, saying, "It’s nothing, Mason. I need to go on a long trip."

"A long trip? Where? I’ll come with you." I frowned.

"You don’t need to. There seems to be a voice in my heart that keeps calling to me." Watson sighed quietly.

"I don’t know what’s causing it, but my gut tells me I have to go."

I tightened my brows and asked, "What if I don’t let you leave?"

Hearing my words, Watson’s face immediately darkened.

A powerful surge of dark energy exploded from her body!

The cold aura swept through more than half of the Immortal Slaying Sect instantly, and the mask in Watson’s hand shook faintly.

I sensed something was wrong, so I prepared for a fight by circulating the energy in my body.
