Chapter 719: Chapter 719 A Week Of Borrowed Time
When I saw this figure, all the blood drained from my face.
The newcomer was Leticia, the Heaven Swallowing Python in human form.
He towered over me with a mocking grin. "Still thinking of running? Who’s going to rescue you now?"
I squinted and let out a cold laugh. "You beast, you’re fortunate that last slap didn’t finish you off!"
The Heaven Swallowing Python remained unfazed and shot back, "Without those two corpses backing you up, how do you plan to handle me?"
As he finished speaking, powerful energy erupted from the python’s form.
I realized this fight was unavoidable, so I couldn’t afford to be careless and immediately pushed my energy to maximum capacity.
At the same moment, the Divine Dragon Power pulsed at the center of my forehead.
A crimson mark glowed and illuminated my brow.
"Let’s go!" Just as I readied myself for battle, terror flashed across the python’s expression!
He instinctively stepped back twice, his dark eyes filling with dread.
Observing the python’s reaction, I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows.
What was happening? How had the Heaven Swallowing Python, which had been showing off just moments before, suddenly become like this?
I locked eyes with the python and quickly figured out what was going on.
The python’s stare was locked onto the Divine Dragon mark on my forehead!
So the Divine Dragon Mark was what had frightened the Heaven Swallowing Python!
"Ah, you’re a demonic creature, naturally terrified of the Divine Dragon, right?" I seemed to piece something together.
As I spoke, I moved step by step toward the Heaven Swallowing Python.
The python’s expression grew more and more frantic.
As I drew nearer, his face went pale, and he actually fell backward onto the ground!
"Hahaha!" Witnessing this, I couldn’t stop myself from laughing out loud.
"Is that all you’ve got? It looks like your terror of the Divine Dragon runs deep in your bones and blood," I said, eyes narrowing.
Fighting to get back on his feet, the python clenched his jaw and declared, "Mason Raymond, don’t get too arrogant. What good is the Divine Dragon Power anyway!"
"Oh really?" I smirked.
"Why don’t you give attacking a shot!" I yelled.
The python shook all over. He appeared to want to strike, but his body wouldn’t obey.
"You... just you wait!" The python snarled through gritted teeth.
I said icily, "Beat it!"
Grinding his teeth, the python spun around and fled.
I let out a relieved breath.
"Damn, thank god I have the Divine Dragon Power..." I patted my chest.
Wiping sweat from my forehead, I muttered, "Depending on the Divine Dragon Power won’t work forever. Eventually, the Heaven Swallowing Python will conquer this psychological barrier."
This so-called bloodline dominance was really just terror embedded in their DNA. All the control came from the psyche.
Once the python conquered his mental block, I still wouldn’t be out of danger.
"I need to boost my power as quickly as possible," I whispered.
——
I had originally intended to leave the Martial Arts Academy, but I suddenly had a change of heart.
That evening, I stood by myself in the plaza, extending my divine consciousness, attempting to locate the Mystic Realm connection again.
Unlike Gyeon City, the Martial Arts Academy buzzed with activity, making the hunt for the connection tougher than before.
Perspiration rolled down my face as I concentrated completely on my mission. This sensation was incredibly distinctive, like a spiritual hand groping blindly, depending on divine awareness to catch the weak and fleeting link.
"Got it!"
After who knows how long, I finally grasped a thread-thin connection!
I snapped my eyes open and tracked this faint link, walking forward.
As the sensation intensified, I had traveled several hundred meters and finally came to a halt at a courtyard.
The courtyard entrance was sealed tight, radiating a forbidding presence.
This section felt even more frigid and silent, with no trace of human activity.
I stared at the gate before me and murmured, "Based on my experience in Gyeon City, there ought to be a concealed Mystic Realm here."
Then I extended my hand, trying to make contact with the gate.
"Boom!"
The instant we touched, an incredibly potent force detonated, hurling me through the air!
That devastating power was like crushing ocean waves from a crumbling peak, making even my physical body spit up blood.
"What incredible strength!" I picked myself up off the ground.
Staring at the gate ahead of me, I whispered, "Is Mabel trapped in this Mystic Realm..."
This was the sole Mystic Realm I had discovered at the Martial Arts Academy. The Capital City Martial Arts Association controlled numerous other Mystic Realms, so locating the one containing Mabel wouldn’t be simple.
I drew a deep breath, wanting to force my way through the gate, but doing that would certainly alert the Martial Arts Association’s people.
"Brute strength won’t do the trick." I found myself stuck for the moment.
After thinking it over, I chose to leave for now and talk things through with the man with the mustache tomorrow.
But as I turned around, I noticed that Ms. Zackary had already positioned herself behind me.
She glared at me coldly with those eyes of hers.
Her freezing and menacing presence made the temperature plummet several degrees.
When our gazes locked, the air became incredibly tense.
"Who gave you permission to come here?" Ms. Zackary said icily.
I frowned, not wanting to raise suspicions, so I fibbed, "I couldn’t get to sleep and chose to go for a stroll. What’s the problem with that?"
"Taking a stroll?" Ms. Zackary sneered again and again.
"Do you take me for an idiot?"
"Think what you want." I snorted and started to walk away.
But right then, Ms. Zackary shot out her claw-like hand, cutting off my path.
I creased my brow and asked, "What do you want?"
Ms. Zackary said mockingly, "Mason, do you honestly believe that just because officials are involved now, I won’t dare to eliminate you?"
I halted, my eyebrows drawing together slightly.
Like Ms. Zackary had pointed out, officials had already been sent to deal with the Capital City Martial Arts Association over the past few days.
Because of this, the martial arts association was acting like a spooked animal, barely daring to make a move.
"This marks the fourth time such official interference has occurred," Ms. Zackary remarked casually.
"They’ll remain here for a week tops. After that week, everything will settle down."
I scoffed, "So what?"
"So?" Ms. Zackary grinned, showing her yellowed teeth.
"So you’ve got just one week left to breathe. Make it count."
I gave a quiet snort, said nothing, and turned to go.
Right then, Ms. Zackary suddenly lunged forward and seized my head!
