Chapter 708: Chapter 708 A Visitor At The Door
During this age, witnessing a Martial Saint was an extraordinary rarity.
Even the mighty Capital City Martial Arts Association had never observed a Martial Saint in combat.
Even Logan Sean, the elite bodyguard serving the wealthy elite, had only reached the Peak Form of Military Marquis.
The following day.
With Stella Lucas as my guide, I wandered through more than half of Gyeon City.
"How long have you been part of the Michelle Sect?" I asked unexpectedly as we strolled along the street.
Stella Lucas paused to consider before responding, "Around three years."
"Three years... That’s quite some time," I said with a slight nod.
"Is something bothering you?" Stella Lucas inquired.
I shook my head. "Nothing."
Something about the Michelle Sect struck me as untrustworthy, though I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what.
Yet Stella Lucas showed no signs of deception.
"What are the Michelle Sect’s real motives?" This question occupied my thoughts for the entire day.
No matter how I analyzed it, the Michelle Sect seemed to be making a terrible deal.
Even if the sect held me in high regard, as Alexa Madron claimed, they wouldn’t offer a ten-thousand-year-old herb simply out of admiration.
I had deliberately set those harsh conditions to test the Michelle Sect’s resolve.
If they actually accepted, I couldn’t help but question their true intentions.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, I felt an odd sensation wash over my body.
Though the feeling lasted only a moment, it didn’t escape my notice.
"What’s the matter?" Stella Lucas asked.
I shook my head. "Nothing."
When evening arrived.
Stella Lucas and I headed back to the snack street and randomly chose a pub for dinner.
While my cultivation had reached a level where food was no longer necessary for survival, the world’s delicacies remained too tempting to resist.
After we settled into our seats, Stella Lucas offered me the menu.
"Mr. Raymond, please look this over and choose what you’d like," Stella Lucas said courteously.
I waved my hand dismissively. "You pick. Just order some house specialties."
Before I could finish my sentence, that peculiar sensation returned.
This time, it felt much more intense than before.
I shot up from my seat, my brow creased, my eyes sweeping the area.
"Mr. Raymond, what’s happening?" Stella Lucas asked, confused.
I stayed quiet, my gaze sharp as ice while scanning around, simultaneously releasing my divine sense.
"What is this bizarre feeling?" I muttered with a frown.
With my divine sense blanketing the area, no one could remain hidden.
Suddenly, I spotted a familiar figure.
"Gene Massy?" My eyes narrowed, and with a swift movement, my form disappeared instantly.
The next moment, I materialized directly in front of Gene Massy.
This sudden appearance terrified Gene Massy.
He stuttered, "What...What do you want? I haven’t done anything wrong, don’t bother me!"
Gene Massy’s nervous reaction only deepened my suspicion.
"What’s got you so frightened?" I asked, eyes still narrowed.
Fear flashed across Gene Massy’s face as he whispered, "I...I’m not frightened, just move aside, I...I need to get home."
With that, Gene Massy spun around and hurried away.
——
Watching Gene Massy’s frantic retreat, a cold grin spread across Mason Raymond’s lips.
Gene Massy was now racing desperately toward his house, occasionally glancing back, terrified that Mason might be following.
When he reached the villa at his family’s estate, Gene Massy rushed toward a hidden chamber.
This secret room was covered wall-to-wall with intricate path inscriptions, and the stone entrance radiated an imposing, sacred aura.
"Dad, how...how are you doing?" Gene Massy said anxiously.
Tristram Massy’s voice echoed from within.
He spoke coldly, "Don’t worry, it takes time."
Gene Massy clenched his teeth. "Dad, you need to work faster. I think Mason Raymond is catching on!"
"This technique can’t be detected. It sounds like you’re just being paranoid," Tristram Massy scoffed.
Gene Massy’s expression turned vicious. "Dad, I can’t wait to watch Mason Raymond crawling and begging for mercy in front of me!"
Tristram Massy replied with indifference, "Once my technique is finished and I’ve claimed his great fortune, he’ll become worthless."
"Then, killing him will be simple."
Gene Massy nodded eagerly. "I want to see him grovel on his knees before everyone! So that he’ll have no dignity left when he dies!"
"Such a cruel heart you have."
An icy voice suddenly spoke from behind.
They turned to see Mason Raymond standing coldly at the entrance.
"Mason...Mason Raymond! How...how did you find this place!" Gene Massy was so frightened he collapsed onto his backside!
——
"I thought you showed promise, so I didn’t want to end your life, but you’re plotting against me?" I said coldly.
Gene Massy panicked, his lips quivering as he stammered, "You...don’t come closer, or...my father won’t forgive you!"
I didn’t respond. Instead, I simply raised my finger and sent a beam of light straight into the center of Gene Massy’s forehead.
His skull exploded along with his divine sense!
Afterward, I extracted the golden cores from Gene Massy’s corpse and stored them in my spatial magic artifact.
"Tristram Massy, are you going to ignore a visitor at your door?" I said coolly.
Tristram Massy’s face inside the chamber turned extremely dark as he sensed his son Gene’s life force vanishing!
"Mason Raymond, you...you actually murdered my son, I won’t forgive you!" Tristram Massy bellowed in rage.
"After I steal your fortune, I’ll definitely tear your corpse to shreds!"
My eyes narrowed as I spoke coldly, "Stealing my fortune? So that strange sensation earlier...it was from your technique?"
Then I struck the stone door and said coldly, "Open up."
Tristram Massy ignored me completely; he sneered, "In your dreams! You killed my son, I’ll have my revenge!"
I didn’t waste any more words on Tristram Massy. I made a fist and slammed it against the stone door!
"Boom!"
The thunderous crash made the entire villa shake!
However, the stone door stayed perfectly intact! Only some debris fell from it!
Tristram Massy sneered, "Pointless! This door is crafted from special materials with techniques embedded in it. You can’t destroy it!"
"Is that so?" My eyes narrowed as brilliant golden light erupted from my fist!
"Let me test just how tough this door really is!"
My hand blazed with golden light as I struck with tremendous force!
"Boom!"
With this blow, the stone door crumbled completely into rubble!
Tristram Massy’s expression changed drastically as he gasped, "How...how can this be!"
I ignored Tristram Massy and widened my eyes!
The sight before me was completely beyond what I had imagined!
"This...is the fortune you’re attempting to steal?!" I couldn’t help but whisper to myself.
