Chapter 69: Chapter 69 - Silver Needles

However, it was only then that Jack Schultz realized he hadn’t taken down my contact details.

He had no idea where I was now!

"It’s all over, it’s all over." Jack Schultz felt deep regret in his heart, and for a moment, all his anger redirected toward Matias Howe!

Jack Schultz turned around, piercing Matias Howe with a deadly glare, and roared furiously, "This is entirely your fault, you worthless scum! Listen carefully—if anything happens to my wife, I’ll definitely kill you!"

Matias Howe trembled with anxiety, knowing full well that with Jack Schultz’s capabilities, eliminating someone would be as effortless as blowing dust from fingernails!

"Dad, what do we do now?" Connor Schultz asked, his face drained of color.

Jack Schultz clenched his teeth and replied, "Let’s search outside for him. Perhaps Mr. Raymond is still nearby."

Although the chances seemed minimal, they couldn’t devise any better solution.

...

"I’ve purchased the silver needles," Victor Green said, handing me a needle box.

I nodded and said, "Let’s go."

"Where to?" Victor Green asked, looking confused.

I smiled slightly and replied, "By my calculations, Jack Schultz should be searching for us right about now."

"How could he possibly find us?" Victor Green seemed unconvinced.

I didn’t bother explaining, simply guiding Victor Green toward the Schultz family residence.

Connor Schultz circled the ground floor completely but failed to locate any trace of Mason Raymond.

This intensified Connor’s frustration, and regret consumed his heart.

"Dad, I couldn’t find Mr. Raymond anywhere," Connor reported, sounding utterly defeated.

He raised his hand and slapped himself hard across the face, saying, "It’s entirely my fault, all my fault! I’ve failed Mom..."

After these words, Connor crumpled to the ground, sobbing.

Jack Schultz shared identical sentiments. Everyone in Chuzzle recognized how deeply he treasured his wife—he would sacrifice everything for her.

Now, gazing at his unconscious wife lying motionless on the bed, he wished for death himself.

"If anything happens to you, I’ll follow right behind," Jack Schultz whispered softly, sitting beside the bed and gently caressing his wife’s face.

The entire room hung heavy with despair.

Just then, the doorbell chimed.

Jack Schultz wearily commanded, "Connor, answer the door."

Connor pulled himself up from the floor and shuffled dejectedly toward the entrance.

As the door swung open, Connor found himself facing a familiar figure.

"Mr. Tenny, I’ve returned. Aren’t you going to welcome me?" I smiled.

Connor froze momentarily before dropping to his knees with a thud.

He clutched my legs, begging desperately, "Mr. Raymond, please save my mother. If you cure her illness, I, Connor, will serve you for the rest of my life."

Seeing Connor’s tear-streaked face, Victor Green looked utterly astonished, which only deepened his respect for me.

"Mr. Tenny, please stand up. Since I’ve returned, I’ll naturally save your mother," I said, helping Connor to his feet.

Connor wiped his tears and nodded vigorously, repeating, "Thank you, Mr. Raymond, thank you..."

I didn’t waste words and quickly proceeded to the bedroom.

Jack Schultz, who had abandoned all hope, stared at me in disbelief.

Just as he opened his mouth to speak, I waved dismissively and said, "No need for words—saving a life takes priority."

Jack Schultz nodded repeatedly and agreed, "Yes, absolutely."

I wasted no time. Taking out the silver needles I’d prepared, I approached Mrs. Schultz’s bedside.

With my current abilities, I could only save lives through medical techniques, necessitating silver needles.

Had I regained my peak strength, I could have healed such an ailment with a mere wave of my hand.

I carefully inserted twelve silver needles into Mrs. Schultz’s major acupoints, following the "Supreme Spiritual Needle" method passed down through my father’s heritage.

Just inserting the needles drained half my strength, causing beads of sweat to form on my forehead.

"Hmm, such a modern era, yet people still believe in these outdated practices," Matias Howe sneered from the sidelines.

Connor Schultz whirled around and violently stomped on Matias Howe’s abdomen, seething, "Shut your mouth, traitor!"

Having received such a powerful kick, Matias Howe doubled over in pain and silently retreated to the side.

I maintained steady hands while holding the silver needles, directing streams of qi through them into Mrs. Schultz’s body.

Mrs. Schultz’s forehead soon glistened with layers of sweat.

A faint mist even materialized around her body.

The needle technique took an enormous toll on my body. Sweat drenched my forehead and my vision blurred.

Yet acupuncture demanded precision, so I refused to rush. I forced myself to maintain focus while treating Mrs. Schultz.

Nearby, the father and son of the Schultz family stood with clenched fists, anxiously watching, fearful of complications.

Time slipped by rapidly, and thirty minutes elapsed in what felt like moments.

However, my treatment remained incomplete.

"Mr. Raymond, how much longer—"

"Do not interrupt Mr. Raymond," Jack Schultz cut Connor off mid-sentence.

As his words faded, I finally released the needles.

The world before me darkened, and I felt utterly depleted, as though every ounce of energy had been drained from my body.

"Mr. Raymond, how is my wife?" Jack Schultz hastily stepped forward to inquire.

I weakly waved my hand and said, "It’s done. Wait until I remove the needles. In half an hour, Mrs. Schultz should awaken."

"Hmph, as if that will actually happen," Matias Howe muttered disdainfully.

Even Connor Schultz showed concern. Furrowing his brow, he said, "Mr. Raymond, there cannot be any mistakes..."

"If you don’t trust him, why did you seek our Mr. Raymond’s help in the first place?" Victor Green snapped, clearly irritated.

Hearing this, Connor Schultz fell silent.

I carefully removed the twelve silver needles and returned them to their box.

Afterward, I moved aside and sat cross-legged.

Having expended such immense energy during treatment, I needed to restore my strength urgently.

I closed my eyes and began controlled breathing, gradually replenishing the qi within my body.

The father and son of the Schultz family sat beside the bed, periodically glancing at the wall clock.

"Hmph, my medical skills might not be exceptional, but his trickery is even worse than mine," Matias Howe remarked once again.

This time, Victor Green slapped him directly across the face, drawing blood from the corners of his mouth.

"Speak one more word of nonsense, and I’ll kill you," Victor Green threatened coldly.

Soon, twenty-nine minutes had passed.

However, Mrs. Schultz showed no signs of regaining consciousness.

"Mr. Raymond, what’s happening?!" Jack Schultz demanded anxiously.

I opened my eyes, glanced at the wall clock, and replied calmly, "Isn’t there still a minute remaining before the half-hour mark?"

"What difference does that make?!" Jack Schultz exclaimed frantically.

I remained silent, mentally counting the seconds.

"Take your mother to the hospital immediately!" Jack Schultz commanded with a sharp gesture.

"Right away," Connor Schultz nodded quickly.

As he approached the bed and prepared to lift Mrs. Schultz, she suddenly opened her eyes while still lying on the bed.
