Chapter 666: Chapter 666 Delivered Into Enemy Hands
Just moments before, the once boastful Gaile Whitman had somehow become a lifeless body in the span of a heartbeat!
He remained still on the pavement, the puddles around him turning crimson with his blood.
Paul Randall’s weathered face showed no hint of feeling.
Rain streamed down his worn features. He spun around and began moving toward me.
"Senior Paul..." I fought to get those words out.
Paul Randall gave a small nod, crouched down, and said quietly, "Let me get you home."
"No..." I turned down his offer.
I clenched my jaw and said, "This chance is too good to waste... I can’t give up now..."
Paul’s brow creased, "The way you are right now, can you even get to your feet?"
Paul understood the aftermath of this method well. After using it, standing became impossible for two weeks.
But I said nothing, grinding my teeth with resolve and forced myself up from the pavement.
"Senior Paul... thanks..." I fought to speak the words.
Paul found himself speechless for a moment.
Looking at me before him, he suddenly felt overwhelmed by shame and remorse.
If he had battled with the same desperate determination I had shown, might things have turned out differently?
"Senior Paul, you need to go now... No one can know you were here..." I said.
Seeing this, Paul stayed quiet. He gave a nod, stepped forward, and disappeared from the street instantly.
——
After Paul departed, Mason could no longer keep himself upright.
He stumbled forward a few paces before crashing to the pavement with a heavy sound.
"Impressive." Phoebe Billy’ voice reached Mason’s ears.
Mason gazed up at Phoebe standing before him, finally allowing his tense heart to relax.
"Phoebe... it’s in your hands now..."
After saying this, Mason passed out completely.
Phoebe remained there briefly. He let out a quiet sigh, then picked up Mason and walked toward the Capital City Martial Arts Association.
——
Inside the Capital City Martial Arts Association.
Sybil Cooper sat in his office, expecting good news from Gaile Whitman.
"It’s been ages since the Capital City Martial Arts Association sent out a purple robe." A nearby aide couldn’t help but comment.
Sybil Cooper nodded lightly, "For someone like Mason Raymond, we need to eliminate him before he grows stronger, or he’ll become a real problem. Sending a purple robe isn’t excessive."
The aide nodded too, "Right, who could have guessed Mason was the black-robed figure. His power is genuinely worrying."
As they continued their conversation, the office door burst open.
Phoebe, soaked from the rain, entered.
He carried someone in his arms.
That person was Mason Raymond.
Phoebe placed Mason before Sybil Cooper without saying anything.
At this sight, Sybil Cooper was instantly stunned.
He quickly stood and leaned down to slap Mason’s cheek.
"It’s... Mason!" Sybil Cooper was thrilled beyond measure and extremely excited.
"We finally got this troublemaker!"
The assistant nearby asked with confusion, "Vice President Billy, how did Mason end up with you? What happened to Mr. Whitman?"
Phoebe lit up a cigarette, said casually, "Gaile Whitman is dead."
"What?!" Sybil Cooper’s eyes went wide with shock!
He stared at Phoebe and said in an icy tone, "You’re saying Gaile is dead? Who killed him?"
Phoebe gestured with his chin toward Mason on the floor and said, "Who else but him?"
"That can’t be!" Sybil Cooper shouted.
"Mason Raymond couldn’t possibly beat Gaile!"
Phoebe said coldly, "His body is near my place. You’ll still find it if you go now."
Just as he finished speaking, the phone on Sybil Cooper’s desk started ringing.
He answered it, only to hear the voice on the other end say, "President Cooper, Gaile is dead. His head was completely destroyed."
Hearing this, Sybil Cooper immediately collapsed onto the floor.
"Mason... has really become this powerful?!" Sybil Cooper whispered in disbelief.
Phoebe said coldly, "I warned you before, we should have used the Martial Saint Weapon to kill him outright, but you wouldn’t listen."
Sybil Cooper looked at Phoebe and asked with curiosity, "If even Gaile couldn’t handle him, how did you manage to capture him?"
Phoebe stared at Sybil Cooper with cold eyes and said, "President Cooper, what are you implying? I brought you Mason and instead of rewarding me, you want to accuse me?"
After this, Phoebe angrily got up, "I’m definitely reporting this to the higher-ups so they can judge fairly."
After making this statement, Phoebe headed for the door.
Sybil Cooper quickly stopped Phoebe and said with a grin, "Vice President Billy, I didn’t mean that, I was just wondering."
Phoebe snorted, took a drag of his cigarette, then said, "Mason used a power-boosting technique, and that’s how he defeated Gaile."
"And you know the price of using that technique better than I do."
Hearing this, Sybil Cooper immediately got it.
He gave Phoebe a thumbs up and said, "You’ve done something remarkable this time. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely praise you to the higher-ups."
Phoebe waved dismissively, "No need, I’ll tell the higher-ups myself."
"Excellent, excellent!" Sybil Cooper remained excited and seemed to have forgotten everything else.
He looked coldly at Mason on the ground and sneered, "Little pest, we finally caught you!"
"You’ve caused so much grief for our Capital City Martial Arts Association. I’m going to end you right now!"
Right then, Sybil Cooper’s hands began glowing, filled with deadly intent.
Seeing this scene, Phoebe’s pulse quickened!
If Sybil Cooper killed Mason right now, all his work would be wasted!
"President Cooper, don’t kill him yet." Suddenly, the assistant spoke up.
Sybil Cooper frowned and asked, "Why not?"
The assistant gave a worried smile, "Did you forget? The one hunting him now isn’t just our Capital City Martial Arts Association. The government wants him too."
"If we kill him now, how do we answer to the government?"
Hearing this, Sybil Cooper immediately caught on.
He said with some anxiety, "Almost caused ourselves major trouble..."
As everyone knew, the higher-ups were already growing unhappy with the Capital City Martial Arts Association. If they dealt with Mason secretly, it could spell serious trouble for the entire organization.
"Let him breathe for a few more days then. Once the paperwork goes through, we’ll eliminate him right away!" Sybil Cooper commanded coldly.
Immediately, Sybil Cooper summoned people to haul Mason toward the prison.
"Make sure to lock him across from Mabel Sean." Sybil Cooper directed.
"Yes, President Cooper," the men acknowledged.
Soon, Mason was dragged into the prison.
The prisoners saw this and began murmuring to each other.
"Isn’t that the guy who broke into the prison recently?"
"How did he get caught as well?"
"Man, that’s really tough luck. Anyone who crosses the Capital City Martial Arts Association meets the same fate."
