Chapter 640: Chapter 640 Marching Into A Trap
Of course, I knew about this incident because its impact was enormous. The most crucial aspect was that ordinary citizens had become involved.
"Lord Pavilion Master, I... have no other choice," I said with gravity.
The Pavilion Master let out a sigh. "Sometimes you shouldn’t rush things so much. You’ve already accomplished plenty. Why worry about this particular moment?"
At these words, I jerked my head up sharply.
Through clenched teeth, I declared, "Lord Pavilion Master, you have no clue what Mabel has endured at the Capital City Martial Arts Association! Those monsters are constantly draining her blood!"
"Now they’re even treating Mabel like some kind of martial arts resource, using her to cultivate some super warrior! They keep transferring Mabel’s bloodline to other people!"
"I can’t bear it! Every time I shut my eyes, I see her agonized face haunting me relentlessly!"
"I’m going to kill every last one of them!"
My rage was so intense that my eyes became bloodshot. Even the Pavilion Master seemed startled by my outburst.
"Mason, you need to... settle down a little." The Pavilion Master placed her hand on my shoulder.
I drew in a long breath, attempting to regain control of my emotions.
"Lord Pavilion Master, forgive me. I lost control," I murmured.
The Pavilion Master shook her head, choosing not to pursue the topic. Instead, she inquired, "What was your purpose in robbing that auction? How does it help you?"
I parted my lips, initially intending to inform the Pavilion Master about the male corpse.
But after considering it thoroughly, I ultimately decided against revealing it.
"Simply put, it serves my needs," I replied.
Observing this, the Pavilion Master chose not to push the matter.
"Mason, please exercise caution. If they capture you..." The Pavilion Master left her sentence unfinished, but her meaning was unmistakable.
I gave a nod. "Don’t worry, I’ll be cautious."
"Remain here for several days and keep a low profile," The Pavilion Master advised.
I didn’t object. I nodded and agreed to the arrangement.
That evening, I remained in this hidden chamber.
Nobody was aware that I was at the Divine Alchemist Pavilion. Even the Alchemists within the Divine Alchemist Pavilion had no knowledge of my presence.
The following morning, I retrieved the stolen auction items from my Spatial Magic Artifact.
Among these auctioned goods, numerous valuable herbs had aged for over a thousand years.
I utilized these few days to begin alchemy and consumed the herbs.
Before I knew it, three days had elapsed and I had consumed all the herbs.
Yet these herbs weren’t sufficient to push me to the mid-term Military Marquis stage. The higher one’s cultivation level climbs, the more difficult advancement becomes, particularly for me.
The qi I require for cultivation is ten or even dozens of times greater than others! Consequently, I need vast quantities of herbs!
This also indicated that I couldn’t afford to pause.
I exhaled softly. I pulled out my phone and accessed the Martial Arts Forum.
The forum’s top post announced the Capital City Martial Arts Association’s academy establishment!
I rapidly clicked on this announcement. It detailed bloodline activation!
"Damn it!" I erupted with fury!
The Capital City Martial Arts Association had actually founded an academy. It appeared they were planning to completely drain Mabel’s blood!
Furthermore, the post mentioned that several academy students had already received bloodline baptism.
This enraged me to the point of murderous intent!
"Capital City Martial Arts Association..." Unable to calm myself, I clenched my fists and exited the room.
When I opened the door, I encountered the Pavilion Master.
The Pavilion Master’s brow creased. "What’s wrong?"
I responded, "Lord Pavilion Master, I’m departing for Capital City."
"Departing for Capital City?" The Pavilion Master’s eyebrows drew together slightly.
"Everyone’s hunting for you now. Isn’t going to Capital City like marching into a trap?"
I stated coldly, "I have no choice but to go."
The Pavilion Master wanted to counsel me, but she could tell my decision was final.
Therefore, she could only state, "Then exercise caution."
I grunted acknowledgment, and that same day I departed River Town and traveled directly to Capital City.
Upon reaching Capital City, I didn’t act rashly but instead secured lodging and began researching information about the academy.
Following my investigation, I discovered the academy was called Capital City Martial Arts Academy.
The initial group of students consisted of internal Capital City Martial Arts Association members, including the nine individuals I had killed.
Regarding the second group of students, they were the talented heirs of noble families.
These young aristocrats hadn’t yet enrolled, and the exact timing remained undetermined.
"This academy... absolutely must not be established!" I declared through gritted teeth.
If they managed to establish it, it would mean I’d have to confront all the aristocratic families!
At that point, I would certainly be at a disadvantage.
Nightfall arrived.
I returned once more to Phoebe Billy’ residence.
When Phoebe Billy arrived home, I was constructing towers with his daughter using building blocks.
"Uncle, I want more to eat." The little girl grasped my arm and spoke.
I chuckled and magically produced a lollipop.
"This is your final one. Too much candy isn’t healthy for you." I passed the lollipop to the little girl.
"Alright!" The little girl nodded enthusiastically, accepted the lollipop, and skipped away.
——
Witnessing this, Phoebe Billy quickly approached.
He said frigidly, "Mason Raymond, what did you feed my daughter!"
Mason Raymond looked at him and replied, "Relax, just an ordinary lollipop from a convenience store."
Despite his assurance, Phoebe Billy was clearly not completely convinced.
Mason Raymond snorted and declared, "Before you betrayed me, I wouldn’t harm a child. After all, I’m not a monster like you Capital City Martial Arts people. I haven’t lost my humanity."
Phoebe Billy’ expression darkened as he struggled to control his emotions and asked, "What brings you here?"
Mason Raymond said coldly, "Capital City Martial Arts Academy—how many members does it currently have?"
Upon hearing this, Phoebe Billy couldn’t suppress a flicker of hope.
But he maintained his cold demeanor and answered, "Three. Why do you ask?"
"No particular reason," Mason Raymond said as he rose to his feet.
"You Capital City Martial Arts Association people really are a pack of dogs, expanding your influence without any regard for others’ safety."
Phoebe Billy scoffed, "Mason Raymond, don’t be so foolish. When the benefits are substantial enough, what does one life matter?"
"Oh?" Mason Raymond sneered.
"So what benefit would you accept in exchange for your daughter’s life?"
At this, Phoebe Billy immediately flared up and declared, "Mason Raymond, I would never trade anything for my daughter’s life!"
"So your daughter’s life has value, but other people’s lives don’t?" Mason Raymond said in an icy tone.
Phoebe Billy was momentarily stunned, left without words.
Mason Raymond didn’t continue debating with Phoebe Billy. He turned and prepared to depart.
"Hold on!" At that moment, Phoebe Billy suddenly called out to Mason Raymond.
Mason Raymond glanced at him and said, "What? Do you have something more to say?"
"No." Phoebe Billy waved his hand dismissively.
Mason Raymond said nothing and turned to exit the location.
After Mason Raymond departed, Phoebe Billy drew a deep breath, his eyes gleaming with a cold light.
"He’s finally fallen for it. Mason Raymond, this time you’re finished!"
