Not far away, Jack Schultz looked embarrassed. He didn’t want my help, but Mabel’s words had completely blocked his path.
Now, whether he liked it or not, he had to agree.
"I can only trouble Mr. Raymond then," Jack forced a smile.
I felt quite helpless too. Though my medical skills were superb, not many people acknowledged them, so I couldn’t blame Jack.
After the dance, Mabel drove me to Dragon Rising Community.
The car stopped outside the gate, and neither of us seemed eager to get out.
Mabel suddenly looked at me and asked, "Mason, if one day I return to Capital City, can you take care of yourself?"
Hearing this, I felt confused and quickly asked, "Miss Sean, are you going back to Capital City?"
Mabel shook her head. "Not for the moment, but that day will eventually come."
I opened my mouth but couldn’t find the right words.
Yes, Mabel would eventually return to Capital City, her home. With my current abilities, going to Capital City would almost mean hitting a dead end.
Mabel was a heavenly beauty; even in Capital City, she was a prominent figure. Countless people must be pursuing her.
With my current situation, I had no right to be with Mabel.
"If you return to Capital City, I’ll go there as soon as possible to see you and propose marriage." I took a deep breath and answered seriously.
Upon hearing my response, Mabel blinked. "As long as you say this, I am satisfied."
After dropping me off, Mabel returned to the Sean family’s Estate.
The next day.
Mabel was heading out to attend an event in the city.
She hadn’t been gone long when her car was stopped by several people.
"Miss Sean, there are two cars blocking our way ahead," the driver frowned.
Mabel looked up, surprised.
Someone dared to stop her car in River City?
"Miss Sean, please wait, I’ll go check it out," her secretary said.
"No need," Mabel shook her head.
She opened the car door and stepped out.
After Mabel exited the car, seven or eight people jumped out from the blocking vehicles.
The leader was a young man wearing gold wire-rimmed glasses, and surprisingly, it was Nola O’Connor!
Upon seeing Nola, Mabel’s face turned cold.
"You bitch, I’ve been waiting for you!" Nola angrily rushed toward Mabel.
"Mr. Logan, she’s the one who hit me!" Nola said furiously.
As Mr. Logan approached and saw Mabel, he couldn’t help but gasp. She was truly stunning!
"Hurry up and teach her a lesson!" Nola urged from the side.
Mr. Logan smiled and approached Mabel. "Miss, seeing how beautiful you are, I really can’t bear to do anything."
"How about you apologize to Nola, and we’ll let bygones be bygones? How does that sound?" Mr. Logan suggested.
Mabel looked coldly at Mr. Logan and said, "Get lost."
Mr. Logan was taken aback, his face showing displeasure.
"Though I am fond of cherishing the fairer sex, that doesn’t mean I lack a temper," Mr. Logan said coldly.
Nola stood nearby, cursing, "You acted so arrogantly yesterday! You slapped me then, let’s see you act arrogant again today!"
"Alright," Mabel raised her hand and "slap!" another slap landed on Nola’s face.
Nola stood stunned before screaming, "You’re done for! I’ll kill you, you bitch!"
Ace Randall, standing nearby, said coldly, "You’re really not giving me any face. Since it’s like this, don’t blame me for being impolite!"
"Wait."
At this moment, Mabel’s secretary stepped out of the car.
He walked over to Ace Randall and smiled. "Are you Ace Randall?"
Ace Randall looked puzzled. "You know me?"
The secretary continued, "The son of Keion Randall?"
Hearing this, Ace Randall couldn’t help but feel proud. "That’s right! Since you know who I am, hurry up and apologize!"
The secretary pushed up his glasses and sneered, "Even if it were your dad, I don’t think he would dare say that."
"You’re bluffing, who do you think you are?" Ace Randall laughed.
"If your father still wants to work, you’d better have him apologize to Mabel Sean," Mabel said coldly.
"Let my father apologize? That’s quite bold!" Ace Randall was furious.
"No one in River City has ever dared to speak so boldly!"
Seeing the situation, the secretary said nothing more.
He took out his cell phone and dialed a number.
Upon answering, Keion Randall asked politely, "Why hasn’t Miss Sean arrived yet? We’ve been waiting a long time!"
The secretary sneered, "Mr. Randall, our Miss Sean might not make it today. Your son is blocking the road, threatening to hit her."
"Mr. Randall, I’m reminding you, you’d better handle this well."
After saying this, the secretary hung up.
"You play your part well," Ace Randall scoffed.
"You really think you’re something, huh?" Ace Randall laughed.
Next to him, Nola cursed, "Exactly, who the hell is Miss Sean? You think just because you’re from Capital City, we’re scared of you?"
"Exactly, you think... what?" Ace Randall’s words trailed off as realization struck.
"You... who did you say she is?" Ace Randall grabbed Nola’s arm anxiously.
"Capital City’s Miss Sean, what’s wrong with that..." Nola asked, confused.
Hearing this, Ace Randall looked horrified.
He gritted his teeth and slapped Nola’s face!
"You bitch, are you trying to get me killed?!" Ace Randall roared.
He hurriedly looked at Mabel with a trembling voice. "Miss... Miss Sean, I didn’t know it was you. I’m sorry for any offense, please forgive me..."
Mabel coldly glanced at Nola and said nothing.
"Let’s go home." She went straight back to her car.
Ace Randall panicked. The conference was the fruit of River City’s labor, and they had persuaded Mabel Sean to attend.
But now, because of him, the conference was canceled!
"It’s over, it’s over..." Ace Randall’s face turned gloomy.
At that moment, his phone rang.
Picking up, it was his father.
Ace Randall answered shakily, "Dad... Dad, what’s going on?"
"What’s going on? Do you want to fucking die? Get your ass back here now!" Keion Randall yelled from the other end.
