Chapter 621: Chapter 621 Spoils Of The Tomb
The statue in the square came down, just as they wanted.
Outside the entrance, the Great Saint Sect’s plaque went back up.
Ximena Santos watched it all happen, tears streaming down her face, powerless to stop any of it.
Ever since Mason Raymond "died," everything had shifted, even the world itself.
No one had the guts to challenge the Capital City Martial Arts Association or the big families anymore!
Every martial artist was now bowing down to the major families and the Capital City Martial Arts Association.
Three rising stars had appeared in the martial arts world during this period.
Word was that the Capital City Martial Arts Association had personally backed these three prodigies, and their power had hit mid-term Military Marquis level.
Almost nobody could stand against them! Even the well-dressed young heirs from the great families couldn’t match them!
Capital City, the Green family compound.
Elena Green sat in the massive Green family estate, quietly drinking her tea.
Across from her sat Zora Solomon, ranked second.
"Mr. Solomon, from what I hear, those three are planning to challenge you soon." Elena Green took a sip of her coffee and gave a slight smile.
Zora Solomon snorted. "Those three are getting cocky, thinking they run this younger generation!"
Elena Green laughed softly. "Mr. Solomon, don’t take those three lightly. They’ve already beaten everyone on the ranking list."
Zora Solomon scoffed. "So what? When they face me, that’s where their winning streak ends."
"I got their challenge letter too."
Wilbert Jaxon walked in from outside at that moment.
Seeing Wilbert Jaxon, Elena Green bowed slightly. "Mr. Jaxon."
Wilbert Jaxon replied politely, "Miss Green."
"You taking their challenge?" Zora Solomon asked with a fake grin.
Wilbert Jaxon shook his head and smiled. "Mr. Solomon, you know I don’t like making a scene, especially when those three aren’t pushovers."
Zora Solomon snorted coldly. "Where the hell did these three come from anyway? Pretty damn sudden!"
"They say the Capital City Martial Arts Association specially created these powerhouses to stop another Mason Raymond from showing up." Wilbert Jaxon said with a faint smile.
At the mention of Mason Raymond, unease flashed across all three faces.
"Mr. Jaxon, do you think Mason Raymond is actually dead?" Elena Green asked.
Wilbert Jaxon shrugged. "Though I don’t want to believe Mr. Raymond is gone, it’s been over a month now, and things don’t look good."
Elena Green sighed quietly. "Mason Raymond really shook up Capital City’s long-standing order."
Wilbert Jaxon smiled. "Yeah, even the Capital City Martial Arts Association took him seriously. Logan Sean even brought in a Peak Form Military Marquis to protect him. It’s been years since anyone reached that level."
But Zora Solomon sneered. "I don’t think that Mason Raymond was anything special. If he’d faced me, he would’ve died ages ago."
Wilbert Jaxon said politely, "Of course, Mr. Solomon, your strength speaks for itself."
"By the way, I wonder if that island from before is still there. We should check it out when we get the chance. The inner core there... it’s perfect for cultivation." Elena Green suddenly said.
Wilbert Jaxon joked, "Miss Green, are you after the inner core or Mason Raymond?"
"Neither." Elena Green shook her head.
"I’m looking for Mabel Sean."
——
Inside the Immortal Slaying Sect.
I was practically an ice sculpture, even my eyelashes had turned white.
The dark energy here seemed endless. Even though my absorption speed was crazy fast, the dark energy showed no signs of running out.
After all this time, I finally figured out where this dark energy was coming from. This dark energy flows from the coffin!
I tried practicing while lying in the coffin, but the intense dark energy inside almost killed me.
Another month flew by.
During that month, my strength jumped from second-rank Martial Marquis to fourth-rank Martial Marquis.
That kind of speed would blow people’s minds if they knew.
Stuck in this tomb, I could barely feel time passing, but deep down, there was this nagging worry.
Anxiety about the outside world kept eating at me.
"The man with the mustache hasn’t come looking for me, so not much time must’ve passed," I thought to myself.
With that, I closed my eyes again and kept practicing.
Time flew by, and soon summer became winter.
Another year went by.
I’d been in this tomb for four whole months!
My entire body had become ice cold, barely any warmth left.
One day, my closed eyes slowly opened.
I frowned slightly and whispered, "I’ve hit another bottleneck."
Even though I was a chaotic body, my golden core needed balance.
Now, the dark energy inside me had way exceeded my qi.
This made it impossible for me to get stronger with dark energy anymore.
I stood up and looked at the coffin, frowning. "This thing’s a treasure. Hard to just walk away from it."
The Immortal Slaying Sect’s door had been shut, and no second group had entered for quite some time.
This proved it was impossible to reopen the door from outside.
"If I want to come back next time, I’ll probably have to count on the man with the mustache," I muttered.
But the man with the mustache came and went like a ghost, and meeting him was pure luck, so the odds were way too uncertain.
After thinking it over, a crazy idea suddenly hit me!
Take the coffin with me! That way, couldn’t I absorb the dark energy inside whenever I wanted?
With that thought, I immediately got up and prepared to move the coffin.
I had no idea what the coffin was made of, but it was incredibly heavy.
Even for me, moving it was tough.
Luckily, my strength had increased big time after reaching fourth-rank Martial Marquis, so I eventually managed to stuff the coffin into my Spatial Magic Artifact.
I didn’t stick around, turned and got ready to leave.
But after two steps, I turned around and came back.
I stared at the two male corpses in front of me and whispered, "The man with the mustache said these two might be beings beyond mighty realm cultivators, which means they’re Reversion Void Stage experts!"
Above Martial Saint is Divine Annihilator, and mighty realm cultivators are one step beyond the Divine Annihilator realm, while above mighty realm is Returning to the Void!
They say those in the Reversion Void Stage are people who’ve reached the heavens, and their single punch can even shatter a small planet!
Not just now, but even looking back thousands of years, they’re still top-tier existences!
"Damn, if these two male corpses could serve me, what would the Capital City Martial Arts Association even matter?" I thought to myself.
Though these two male corpses had no soul or divine sense left, their bodies were genuine Reversion Void Stage experts!
After thinking about it, I decided to bring these two corpses too, figuring there might be a chance to use them someday!
Even at worst, I could use these two corpses as weapons.
With that thought, I immediately put these two corpses into the Spatial Magic Artifact as well.
