Chapter 601: Chapter 601 A Sect Slain By One

Walton Greer’s brow creased slightly.

It appeared he wasn’t joining the Capital City Martial Arts Association but becoming their fall guy instead.

"You lack the authority to withdraw now," Hawk Thompson stated icily.

Shifting his approach, Hawk Thompson laughed and declared: "Naturally, the Capital City Martial Arts Association will provide you with the finest resources."

Walton Greer’s gaze went blank momentarily, darkness flickering in his pupils, before his demeanor shifted dramatically.

Smirking wickedly, he replied: "Alright... I’ll accept then..."

Hawk Thompson scowled, sensing something off, though he didn’t dwell on it and simply gave a nod.

Following Hawk Thompson’ lead, the team descended along the waterway.

About a dozen individuals broke through the ocean’s surface and swiftly reached the island’s underside.

Staring at the inner core fixed beneath the island, everyone felt momentarily stunned.

"This is... the inner core!" Alberto Sean’s eyes narrowed, blazing with enthusiasm.

Even Hawk Thompson appeared amazed; he hadn’t anticipated finding so many inner cores beneath the island!

"No surprise they’re from the Capital City Martial Arts Association. Even chasing these resources our entire lives, we might never obtain them," someone muttered quietly.

Several people grew so thrilled they rushed forward without thinking.

Hawk Thompson remained behind, studying the inner cores before him.

Soon, he spotted the Immortal Slaying Sect’s entrance.

"Immortal Slaying Sect... it truly exists here," Hawk Thompson said coldly.

He gestured and commanded icily: "Hear my orders, everyone! Storm the Immortal Slaying Sect alongside me!"

After Hawk Thompson spoke, the group noticed the Immortal Slaying Sect’s entrance.

"Immortal Slaying Sect? What sort of organization is this? Why haven’t I encountered it before?" people wondered, examining the magnificent sign.

"This organization likely existed for countless years."

Hawk Thompson surveyed everyone, stating coldly, "The Immortal Slaying Sect dates back ten thousand years. Its perils are beyond imagination. If you wish to survive, stay close to me!"

With that, Hawk Thompson led the way through the entrance.

Even Hawk Thompson proceeded carefully. Regarding the Immortal Slaying Sect, he had studied relevant materials at the Capital City Martial Arts Association, giving him more knowledge than the others.

Everyone trailed Hawk Thompson, carefully approaching the entrance.

Hawk Thompson channeled his Inner Strength and gently opened the gate.

His expression showed traces of fear, as if worried about awakening something.

I sensed unusual activity within the Immortal Slaying Sect.

"Someone’s approaching," I frowned slightly.

The only people who might visit such a location were likely Hawk Thompson and his group.

I glanced down at the shackles on my wrists.

The restraints showed no indication of loosening.

"If they discover me, I doubt I’ll survive," I whispered, my complexion growing paler.

Right then, my eyes sharpened, as though recalling something.

I quickly moved to the Sect Leader’s throne before the Great Hall and settled down, facing away from the entrance.

"I pray they won’t spot me," I thought silently.

Hawk Thompson required considerable time to finally open the gate.

Sweat covered him, and despite being a mid-level Military Marquis, Hawk Thompson remained extremely wary of the Immortal Slaying Sect.

"That was close," Hawk Thompson remarked, wiping perspiration from his brow.

Alberto Sean, standing close by, couldn’t resist asking: "Captain Thompson, what’s the history of this Immortal Slaying Sect? Why are you so nervous?"

Hawk Thompson looked at Alberto Sean and replied coldly: "Based on records, this Immortal Slaying Sect was formerly the world’s premier organization, housing tens of thousands of members."

"The world’s top organization?" Upon hearing this, the crowd seemed somewhat astonished.

Hawk Thompson confirmed and explained, "It held that position ten thousand years ago. The cultivation conditions then differed greatly from today’s."

"They claim every Immortal Slaying Sect member reached the mighty realm, while their Sect Leader’s power remained unfathomable."

Listening to Hawk Thompson’ explanation, everyone appeared shocked and amazed.

An ordinary sect member achieved mighty realm cultivation? What kind of organization would dare name itself the Immortal Slaying Sect!

"With formerly thriving sects like this, nobody can promise there aren’t protective measures remaining, or even something sinister," Hawk Thompson warned cautiously.

"True, such powerful organizations typically leave behind security systems, even guardians. We should proceed carefully," Elena Green stated seriously.

"Captain Thompson, how did such a successful sect meet its end?" someone inquired with bewilderment.

Hawk Thompson answered coldly, "Reports suggest the Immortal Slaying Sect was destroyed by a powerful independent cultivator of that era."

"Destroyed by an independent cultivator?" The group couldn’t help but look at each other.

A formerly successful sect was eliminated by an independent cultivator?

Hawk Thompson snorted dismissively, commenting, "Obviously, this information’s reliability is questionable. A top-tier sect like this couldn’t possibly be destroyed by an independent cultivator."

Sitting in the chair, I couldn’t help but sneer internally.

This Hawk Thompson was overly arrogant. He consistently believed that people like them at the power structure’s peak couldn’t be defeated by ordinary individuals.

Sadly, those who shatter hierarchies are often those with nothing to lose.

"Everyone, stay alert. Locations like this frequently harbor dangers," Hawk Thompson cautioned again.

The group naturally didn’t dare act recklessly; they stayed close to Hawk Thompson and moved toward the Great Hall.

Inside the Great Hall, skeletons remained, and the dark energy felt even more frigid and penetrating.

Hawk Thompson broke into a cold sweat, using spiritual awareness to watch for potential threats.

"Whoosh!"

At that instant, a blast of cold air swept through, making everyone shiver involuntarily.

Hawk Thompson, constantly vigilant, trembled violently, instinctively stepping back twice and crying out, "Senior, we mean no disrespect! Please have mercy!"

Hawk Thompson raised his hands, his face showing complete anxiety.

However, only a wind gust moved through the Great Hall – no "senior" existed.

The situation grew somewhat uncomfortable, and some people even chuckled quietly.

"Stop laughing!" Hawk Thompson snapped at them.

"I’m warning you, if any living entity emerges here, we’re finished!" he added coldly. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Ha, so this is the Capital City Martial Arts Association’s big shot – what a coward," Bella Tad mocked.

Already disliking Hawk Thompson, Bella Tad didn’t restrain his ridicule, seizing the opportunity.

Alberto Sean, positioned nearby, narrowed his eyes and said coolly, "You inferior peasants born at society’s bottom naturally wouldn’t understand what a prosperous sect represents. It’s pure ignorance and recklessness."

"Screw you, talking garbage. With such a weak spine, you’d better go home and nurse – don’t leave your mother’s arms at all," Bella Tad cursed ruthlessly.
