Chapter 588: Chapter 588 The Devils Own Bracelet

Hawk Thompson frowned. "Is this really necessary?"

Sybil Cooper let out a cold laugh. "Mr. River ordered us to give them resources, so that’s exactly what I’ll do!"

"Once enough people die this time, they won’t have the guts to join us again, even if we invite them!"

Understanding dawned on Hawk Thompson, but he pressed on. "Still... only the bottom-feeders will die. Not one aristocratic heir will perish. Does that make sense?"

"What doesn’t make sense about it?" Sybil Cooper burst into laughter.

"The lower classes are weak from the start. The weak die. Should the strong ones die instead?"

Hawk Thompson finally got it, and he couldn’t help but admire how devious the old man was.

With that, Hawk Thompson spun around and left.

He positioned himself before the crowd once again and spoke slowly. "This journey will be full of danger, and the Association will do everything possible to keep everyone safe."

"Of course, anyone who’s scared can walk away right now."

The crowd below stayed quiet. They’d fought too hard for this chance to throw it away now.

Hawk expected this reaction, so he wasn’t shocked. Instead, he pulled out eighteen bracelets.

Strange symbols covered these bracelets, and they seemed to pulse with mysterious energy.

"Each person gets a bracelet. As long as you wear it, I’ll know where you are," Hawk announced.

Then Hawk had someone hand out the bracelets.

After I got my bracelet, I couldn’t help but study it closely.

I pushed a thread of spiritual power into the bracelet and found a strong force inside.

This force wasn’t wild or random—someone had clearly designed it with purpose.

"Something’s off about these bracelets," I muttered, frowning.

I looked up at Hawk and called out, "I’m not wearing this bracelet, and I think everyone else should skip them too."

Everyone spun toward me, confusion written all over their faces.

Hawk’s voice turned icy. "Mason, don’t cause problems!"

I ignored Hawk and shouted, "I think these bracelets are meant to control us. Put them on, and we’ll be sitting ducks."

My words sent terror through the common cultivators from the lower ranks.

They saw me as something close to a god, so my words carried serious weight.

At the front, Hawk’s face went cold, and his fist tightened slightly.

He sneered. "Fine by me if you don’t want to wear it, but without that bracelet, you can’t join this training! Those are the rules, so make your choice!"

My brow creased as I turned the bracelet over in my hands.

"Mr. Raymond, just put it on. Even the aristocratic kids are wearing their bracelets," someone next to me suggested.

I stayed silent. Even though the bracelet felt wrong, I needed this training opportunity too badly to pass it up.

So I took a deep breath and finally slipped the bracelet onto my wrist.

Seeing this, Hawk’s mouth curved into a barely visible cold smile.

He clasped his hands behind his back and said slowly, "Once everyone’s got their bracelets on, get ready to move out."

As the martial arts world’s gold standard, the Capital City Martial Arts Association had serious money behind it.

This trip even included a private jet.

The plane cut through the sky, flying toward Training Island.

Sitting on the plane, I clearly sensed several killing intents aimed at me from the shadows.

Two of them felt the strongest.

Following the murderous aura, I traced them back to Vance Johansson and Walton Greer!

Walton wore a black robe that hid his face, leaving only a pair of vulture-like eyes visible.

Meanwhile, Vance looked furious, glaring at me like he wanted to tear me apart.

My eyes narrowed, and I couldn’t help but snort coldly.

I slowly stood up and walked toward Walton, casually dropping into the seat beside him.

"Didn’t expect you to still be breathing, you animal," I said coldly.

Walton’s voice came out rough and broken. "If I haven’t killed you yet... how could I die...?"

Seeing Walton like this, I couldn’t resist mocking him. "Looking like a half-dead ghost now?"

At those words, fury flashed across Walton’s face!

"If it wasn’t for you... how could I end up like this?!" Walton radiated killing intent!

"Mason, don’t worry. Even if the Capital City Martial Arts Association doesn’t kill you, I’ll do it myself!"

I narrowed my eyes and said, "I’m curious to see what kind of monster you’re hiding inside your body too." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Walton’s expression shifted slightly, and he snorted coldly without saying another word.

The plane raced through the air for over four hours before finally touching down on a massive island.

The moment I stepped off, I felt a wave of rich qi wash over me.

This qi filled every corner of the island, making everything grow thick and wild with life.

The island was enormous, and when I tried to stretch out my divine sense, I found that even my vast awareness couldn’t cover the whole place.

"The Capital City Martial Arts Association really has incredible resources," I thought to myself.

Even the resources they casually tossed aside contained such powerful qi. Who knew how many more places like this they controlled.

"From now on, everyone follows my orders," Hawk said coldly, hands behind his back.

As darkness started to fall, Hawk said coldly, "We’ll begin our mission tomorrow morning. Everyone can rest now."

Hearing this, everyone spread out.

Some people gathered in small groups to talk, others found spots to sleep, and then there were those like me who wanted to scout ahead.

The eighteen people naturally formed three groups.

The first was led by Alberto Sean, representing the Capital City crowd. The second was the ordinary martial artists without connections. The third was the lone wolves like me.

I walked to the shoreline and bent down to scoop up some seawater and smell it.

"There’s qi in this seawater," I said, completely shocked.

Human exploration of the ocean depths was nowhere near complete, and nobody knew what secrets lay beneath the waves.

"Maybe the qi on land got used up, and it all sank down into the seawater," a wild idea shot through my mind!

I let the seawater slip through my fingers and decided to dive into the sea to check it out.

"Boom!"

Right then, a massive explosion erupted from somewhere nearby!

A blinding light lit up a huge section of the sky!

The sound immediately grabbed everyone’s attention, and my gaze couldn’t help but follow too.

Seeing what lay before me, my brow furrowed and my face went cold.
