Chapter 584: Chapter 584 Exposing A Paper Tiger
This time, the leaderboard looked totally different.
I barely knew most of the names on it.
First place still went to Ignacio Richard and Paul Randall.
Harold Solomon from the Solomon Family held second place.
But Bryce Johansson, who used to be third, was gone. Someone called Boone Pauley took his spot.
Lower down, Alberto Sean’s name had vanished too.
In the whole top ten, I didn’t recognize a single face.
"Looks like these martial arts rankings aren’t worth much," I thought.
After all, plenty of hidden masters never made it onto these lists.
Plus, the rankings didn’t even include Martial Saints.
The second list covered the younger crowd.
This one had changed big time too!
Alberto Sean from the Sean family sat at number one! They even listed his power level.
Alberto Sean had hit Third Rank Military Marquis already, getting close to mid-term Military Marquis.
Second place belonged to Zora Solomon, also a Second Rank Military Marquis.
Third place went to Elena Green from Capital City’s Green family. This young girl had actually reached Second Rank Military Marquis!
Seeing this list caught me off guard.
How many aristocratic kids weren’t even counted?
Why did this list look so different from before?
Looking further down, I found myself in fourth place! I was also the highest-ranked young person from outside the aristocratic families!
My spot on the list wasn’t shocking, considering what I’d done. Even if the Martial Arts Association wanted me gone, they’d have a hell of a time doing it.
Scanning down more, I spotted people from major families like Wayne Ran, Zora Solomon, and Pearson Bowman on the list too.
Worth noting - the Ran family got two spots, with both Wayne Ran and Males Ran making it.
Continuing down, I soon found someone I knew:
Walton Greer!
That bastard had actually broken into the Military Marquis Realm and grabbed tenth place!
"This little shit is still breathing," my eyes narrowed, and I couldn’t help but snort.
"If he shows his face this time, it’d be perfect to finish him off," I thought.
Ten people total made the list, and besides this, there were eight other spots.
The Capital City Martial Arts Association saved these spots for ordinary families, trying to answer Mr. River’s demands.
This list looked fair enough, but it wasn’t really accurate. Lots of people got left out.
Take that sketchy guy with the mustache. His strength was no joke.
Plus, Pyro was just too damn big. Who knew if there were low-key geniuses hiding around?
The event was set for next Monday, so I wasn’t rushing. I had plenty of time to get ready.
"Wonder what kind of perks this experience will bring," I thought.
Right now, the only way for me to face the Capital City Martial Arts Association was to boost my own strength fast.
"Once I figure out how strong the Capital City Martial Arts Association really is, I’ll make my move," I said coldly.
Mabel Sean was still rotting in prison, and I couldn’t stay calm about that. Plus, the Capital City Martial Arts Association had always wanted me dead.
——
Capital City Martial Arts Association.
That day, Logan Sean showed up at Sybil Cooper’s office.
Logan Sean had his usual cigar hanging from his mouth, but anger flickered across his face.
"Is the Capital City Martial Arts Association totally useless? Can’t even kill one Mason Raymond!" Logan Sean snapped.
"You keep bragging about being the top dogs in the martial arts world, but you’re not worth shit!"
"Mr. Sean, Mason Raymond isn’t just your Sean family’s enemy - he’s also our Capital City Martial Arts Association’s most wanted criminal right now," Sybil Cooper said seriously.
"When we get the chance, we’ll definitely take out Mason Raymond."
Logan Sean snorted. "You sent Hawk Thompson to kill him, and what happened? He didn’t just fail to kill him - he let him cause chaos at the conference."
Sybil Cooper didn’t get upset at Logan Sean’s criticism and said calmly, "That was just bad luck. You need to trust the Capital City Martial Arts Association’s abilities."
"Nobody escapes our hunt when we really want them dead."
Logan Sean said impatiently, "Don’t blow smoke up my ass. I won’t believe a word you say until I see his head."
Right then, a young man next to Sybil Cooper smirked. "Mr. Sean, hasn’t your Sean family been claiming they’d kill Mason Raymond for a while now?"
"I remember you saying Mason Raymond would be nothing but a bug compared to your Sean family, right?"
Logan Sean’s face went cold as he stared at the young man. "Are you making fun of me?"
"I wouldn’t dare," the young man sneered.
"What big family like yours would I dare mock?"
Hearing this, Logan Sean slammed the table and shot to his feet!
He pointed right at the young man’s nose and yelled, "What the hell are you? Do you even have the right to talk here!"
The young man opened his mouth to respond, but Sybil Cooper waved him off.
"Mr. Sean, you must have some business with me since you’re here," Sybil Cooper changed the subject.
Logan Sean glanced at him. "I want to hire some bodyguards from your Capital City Martial Arts Association. The stronger, the better."
Ever since Mason Raymond threatened him last time, Logan Sean had been losing sleep and his appetite.
Even though the Sean family could call on tons of experts for help, the arrogant Logan Sean never bothered with his own safety.
He didn’t even have one decent bodyguard around him.
Sybil Cooper smiled. "Mr. Sean, why are you suddenly looking for bodyguards? Doesn’t the Sean family have plenty of Military Marquises?"
Bringing up this topic really ticked Logan Sean off.
He snorted coldly. "Our Sean family used to have lots of Military Marquises, but I’ve kicked them all out now."
"Did you kick them out, or do they just not follow your orders?" the young man next to Sybil Cooper sneered.
"As far as I know, the Military Marquises working for the Sean family don’t seem to listen to you at all, do they? They seem... to only take orders from Jerry Sean and Miss Sean, right?"
"Plus... it looks like they’re all hidden away, and only Jerry Sean knows how to reach them."
Hearing the young man’s words, Logan Sean’s face changed slightly.
Just like the young man said, as Capital City’s top aristocratic family, the Sean family naturally had tons of elite martial artists!
Jerry Sean had personally trained almost all of them, and each one had incredible skills!
But this was a Sean family secret, and even Mabel Sean didn’t know about it! How did this young man find out?
"Speaking of which, I’m curious too, Mr. Sean. As head of the Sean family, how come you don’t even know where the Sean family’s Military Marquises are?" the young man kept mocking.
Logan Sean jumped up, his voice ice cold. "Are you looking to die?"
