Chapter 578: Chapter 578 One Step Too Slow

Bad news kept rolling in, but everyone had grown numb to it by now.

I’d become a regular fixture on the Martial Arts Forum, and it would be weird if I wasn’t making headlines there daily.

I saw those messages too.

About Hawk Thompson and Dalia Yann’s master, I knew absolutely nothing.

But deep down, I understood the Capital City Martial Arts Association wouldn’t send ordinary people.

I pocketed my phone.

I’d need to lay low for the next three days.

I found a temporary hideout.

Then I pulled out my phone and found the video.

It was the footage Soren Sean had sent me.

I stared at the screen, conflict and anguish written across my face.

Storming the Martial Arts Association to demand someone back was suicide right now!

But I couldn’t stand watching Mabel suffer!

No one knew when this nightmare would end!

So I wanted to release the video publicly!

That way, to save face, the Sean family would have to confront the Capital City Martial Arts Association themselves.

"Mabel... this is all I can do for you." I drew a shaky breath, pain flashing through me.

Of course, I didn’t want the world to see my beloved in agony, but I was out of options.

Just as I grabbed my phone to upload the video, I sensed several powerful auras closing in fast!

"Shit." My expression darkened.

The overwhelming presence was beyond anything I’d imagined!

"The Capital City Martial Arts Association moves this quick?" I sucked in air.

I couldn’t stick around and bolted from the hotel immediately.

——

Shortly after Mason departed, a man dressed in black and gold robes led several people into the room.

The man stood tall with an icy demeanor.

His hands were folded behind his back, radiating arrogance.

"He actually got away. Seems this kid’s got sharp instincts," Hawk Thompson said icily.

"Mr. Thompson, what’s our next move?" an aide asked.

Hawk Thompson smirked. "Nobody slips through my fingers."

He walked to Mason’s bed and began searching for something.

Finally, he plucked a single hair from the bedding.

The hair belonged to Mason Raymond!

Hawk Thompson’s palm began glowing, threads of energy flowing into his forehead.

"Southeast direction, he hasn’t gotten far. Move out," Hawk Thompson commanded coldly.

"Yes sir!"

The team immediately followed Hawk Thompson, racing toward the southeast.

——

I used the Shrinking Ground Into An Inch technique to put serious distance between us.

Only when I was certain no one was tailing me did I finally ease up.

I pulled out my phone and found the video again.

"Sorry, Mabel." I hit send.

Within moments, the video spread across every major platform!

The headline was impossible to miss: Capital City Martial Arts Association Tortures Miss Mabel Sean While Sean Family Looks Away.

After uploading the video, I sat down to wait for it to blow up.

About thirty minutes later, I checked my phone to see the response.

But right then, I discovered all the videos had been blocked across the board!

I shot to my feet!

My face went dark as I muttered, "How the hell..."

I tried uploading again, but found my entire account had been wiped out!

This hit me like a punch to the gut!

"Looks like that route’s dead," I said through gritted teeth.

I’d underestimated the Capital City Martial Arts Association, and even more so, the Sean family.

I clenched my jaw, fury building inside me.

"If nothing else works, I’ll crash a press conference!" I snarled.

Pyro hosts countless major conferences. As long as I make the video public at one of those events, even the Sean family won’t be able to bury it!

While I was plotting, I felt those powerful auras approaching again!

"They caught up already?" I frowned.

I didn’t waste another second and used the Shrinking Ground Into An Inch technique to keep running.

——

Hawk Thompson and his team quickly reached Mason Raymond’s previous location.

"He escaped again," Hawk Thompson said coldly.

"Seems this kid can sense us coming," someone beside him observed.

Hawk Thompson’s eyes narrowed as he whispered, "Looks like this kid’s got strong spiritual awareness... too bad it won’t help him!"

Hawk Thompson waved his hand, sending a beam of light over everyone.

This was a standard technique from the Capital City Martial Arts Association. Once activated, it could mask their auras to avoid detection.

Then Hawk Thompson closed his eyes slightly, as if tracking Mason Raymond’s position.

"Northeast, move," Hawk Thompson said coldly.

"Yes sir."

The group followed Hawk Thompson once more, speeding away!

——

This time, I fled to a valley.

The area was peaceful, surrounded by mountains and streams - perfect for training.

"They can definitely track my location," I muttered with a frown.

I calculated the timing - they caught up about every half hour.

That meant I had to relocate every thirty minutes.

I couldn’t risk it because I had no clue how strong Hawk Thompson was, and if they caught me, Mabel Sean would never be saved.

I sat on the ground, slowly restoring my energy.

Time crawled by, and about twenty minutes later, I opened my eyes.

I glanced at my watch and muttered, "Almost time to move."

But just as I was about to get up and leave, four figures suddenly burst from the shadows!

All four were martial marquises. They positioned themselves in four directions, cutting off my escape routes!

My brow furrowed as I muttered, "One step too slow."

I looked at the four and asked coldly, "Who are you?"

The four stayed silent, just staring at me with cold eyes.

I squinted and said, "What, you all mute? You pieces of trash, let’s just fight and stop wasting my time."

"Nice attitude."

Right then, another figure slowly emerged.

It was none other than Hawk Thompson!

His face showed no emotion, his aura barely detectable.

Even so, I could still sense this man was no ordinary opponent.

Hawk Thompson rolled two black and gold orbs in his hand, walking slowly toward me.

"You Hawk Thompson?" I squinted at him.

Hawk Thompson smiled slightly and said, "Since you know who I am, just come quietly; otherwise, you’re in for some serious pain."

"Go screw yourself, I’ll give your mother some serious pain," I shot back.
