Chapter 545: Chapter 545 A Plot Against Destiny

I couldn’t help but freeze in shock.

Was I really the one who’d break this deadlock?

But right now, I wasn’t even a Military Marquis. How could I possibly go up against the Capital City Martial Arts Association?

"Think about what kind of power you’ll have once you reach the Military Marquis Realm," Paul Randall said seriously.

I suddenly remembered how I felt when I’d forced myself into the Military Marquis Realm before.

That power had made me feel absolutely confident.

I’d even thought no one on earth could beat me!

Even facing more than ten Military Marquises at once wouldn’t have bothered me at all!

"Once you become a Military Marquis, everything will change," Paul Randall said.

"But watch out. They won’t make it easy for you to reach that level."

I took a deep breath. "Mr. Randall, I get it."

Paul nodded. "Work hard, young man."

I stayed quiet.

I understood what he meant, but all I could think about was Mabel Sean.

I couldn’t figure out why Mabel, who I was supposed to rescue, got taken by the Capital City Martial Arts Association instead.

When I got back to the Elder’s place, my heart wouldn’t stop racing.

"Once I become a Military Marquis, things will change..." I clenched my teeth.

I kept thinking it over, but deep down I still couldn’t accept it.

Right now though, I had no choice but to wait for news from the Pavilion Master.

All day long, I had zero interest in training.

The next day.

The Pavilion Master sent someone to check things out at the Capital City Martial Arts Association.

It wasn’t until evening that the Pavilion Master finally showed up at the Elder’s place.

I jumped up quickly. "Lord Pavilion Master, what happened?"

The Pavilion Master was quiet for a moment, then said, "The Capital City Martial Arts Association kept everything locked down tight. I have no idea what they’re planning."

My face got even darker!

Even the Pavilion Master came up empty? How was that possible?

"No!" I suddenly stood up.

I said coldly, "I have to go to the Capital City Martial Arts Association right now and figure out what’s going on!"

The Pavilion Master looked at me. "You think showing up there will get you answers?"

I opened my mouth, feeling pretty helpless.

I slumped down on the bed, not sure what to do.

"Wait until you reach the Military Marquis Realm. I’ll head to Capital City myself tomorrow and try digging again," the Pavilion Master said.

I sighed. "That’s all I can do."

The next day.

Early morning, the Pavilion Master left the Divine Alchemist Pavilion for Capital City.

Meanwhile, my anxiety started growing.

"As long as I reach the Military Marquis Realm, there’ll be a way out..." I kept telling myself this.

My mood stayed restless for a long time, and every time I closed my eyes, I saw Mabel Sean.

This made me even more desperate to reach the Military Marquis Realm immediately.

Since I was still at the Divine Alchemist Pavilion, there was no way for me to get stronger.

With where I was at now, only thousand-year-old herbs or things like Spiritual Springs and Dark Energy Graves could help me improve.

So I could only plan to leave and try my luck outside.

That evening, the Pavilion Master finally came back from Capital City.

As soon as I saw him, I ran over anxiously. "Lord Pavilion Master, any news?"

The Pavilion Master shook his head with a hint of regret. "Still nothing. Even the Sean family doesn’t know what the Capital City Martial Arts Association is up to."

Hearing this, I couldn’t help getting furious!

"The Sean family just doesn’t care if Mabel lives or dies!" I said angrily.

"Logan Sean treats Mabel like a tool, and Soren Sean is a useless weakling! Why would they bother finding out what the Capital City Martial Arts Association wants!"

Seeing how worked up I was getting, the Pavilion Master didn’t know what to say.

"Damn it, if we can’t find anything, then I’ll go to the Capital City Martial Arts Association myself!" I said coldly.

"They want to catch me, right? Then I’ll let them catch me, and I guarantee I’ll find out something!"

"Mason, don’t do anything rash," the Pavilion Master frowned.

It’s easy to say don’t be rash, but who could stay calm when someone they loved might be dead or alive!

Everyone has a weak spot, and I’m no different.

When that weak spot gets hit, nobody can stay cool.

"I might know why."

Right then, someone walked in from outside.

It was Jerry Sean.

Seeing Jerry Sean was like seeing family.

I quickly asked, "Mr. Sean, what’s happening? Mabel’s just a regular person, why did the Capital City Martial Arts Association take her!"

Jerry Sean waved his hand and motioned for me to sit down.

We sat across from each other, and Jerry Sean paused before slowly saying, "This might have something to do with your father."

"My father?" I was shocked.

Jerry Sean took a sip of water and explained.

"Back then, I owed your father a huge debt. Without him, the Sean family wouldn’t exist today," Jerry said.

He looked at me and continued, "Do you know why I sent Mabel to River City to find you in the first place?"

I shook my head. Of course I didn’t know.

Mabel Sean was a high-class lady, while I was a married guy with no future.

Logically, the two of us shouldn’t have had any connection at all.

I’d always been really confused about this.

Jerry Sean said, "This was your father’s idea too, and he just told me that you two were perfect for each other."

"He insisted you two had to be together, but he never told me why."

I was completely stunned and confused.

What did it mean that we had to be together? And how did my father know we were perfect for each other?

"If I’m not wrong, being together will benefit both you and Mabel," Jerry Sean continued.

"So the Capital City Martial Arts Association’s move might just be to stop you two from getting together and causing trouble for them."

I frowned. "Mr. Sean, are you telling the truth? You’re not just trying to make me feel better, right?"

Jerry Sean smiled bitterly. "Mabel is my precious granddaughter, my own flesh and blood. I’m even more worried than you are."

I had nothing to say to that. This was true. Everyone in Capital City knew how much Jerry Sean spoiled Mabel.

"Even though the Capital City Martial Arts Association is powerful, they won’t ignore the Sean family’s influence," Jerry Sean said.

"So Mabel should be safe."

Hearing Jerry Sean’s words, I felt a little better.

"You should listen to the Pavilion Master’s advice. Some things can’t be rushed," Jerry Sean said.

I took a deep breath and nodded. "I understand, Mr. Sean."

At this point, I paused.

I looked at Jerry Sean and asked, "You said you owed my father a debt. Does that mean you know him?"

Jerry Sean took a sip of water and nodded. "Yes."

"Then... where is he? What kind of person is he? And why have I never met him?" I asked anxiously.
