Chapter 50: Chapter 50 - Misplaced Contempt

After saying that, I strode into the venue with Victor Green.

"Damn, he actually dared to curse at me!" Lyla Lucas fumed.

Harvey Brown sneered, "No big deal, he won’t be arrogant for long."

Then, Harvey Brown told Carter Hill about my arrival.

Carter Hill couldn’t help but laugh after hearing it, "What a joke! How could this kind of business involve such a useless person."

"Yeah, yeah, that’s what I think too!" Harvey Brown also shouted.

Most of the businessmen were gathered around Carter Hill.

They all knew about the conflicts between me and the Hill family, so nobody wanted to get close to me.

"Mr. Carter Hill, when you eat meat, don’t forget to let us drink some soup!" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"That’s right, Mr. Hill, just give us a first-level agency!"

"Our factory can do the OEM for your company!"

However, Carter Hill acted as if he didn’t hear anything and stared intently at me.

Thinking of his son Xavier Hill who was still in bed, Carter Hill wished he could tear me to pieces!

Some people followed Carter Hill’s gaze and quickly saw the situation.

"Oh my, didn’t expect Mason Raymond to be here too!" A businessman deliberately shouted and then went towards me.

This businessman was named Jaheim Damon, a leader in River City’s herbs processing industry. However, in the grand scheme of River City, Jaheim Damon didn’t amount to much. He didn’t even have the qualifications to attend the Sean family’s banquets.

If the Damon family could seize the opportunity to cooperate with the Hill family this time, they had the chance to become one of the top aristocratic families in River City!

To please Carter Hill, Jaheim Damon took the initiative to approach me.

"Mr. Raymond, how come you’re here too?" Jaheim Damon asked with feigned concern.

I looked at him and asked, "Do I know you?"

Jaheim Damon laughed, "You don’t know me, but I know you. You’re quite famous in River City, who doesn’t know you’re the number one green turtle in our River City?"

After saying that, Jaheim Damon burst into laughter.

I didn’t get angry, but just looked at Jaheim Damon and said with a cold smile, "Do you think pleasing the Hill family will give you the qualifications to be involved in the Soul Nourishment Pill business?"

Jaheim Damon laughed and said, "What else? Should I please you instead?"

"Pleasing me might be more useful," I said indifferently.

Hearing this, Jaheim Damon couldn’t help but laugh.

"Bragging doesn’t cost a dime," Jaheim Damon sneered.

"That old Chinese medicine doctor said he wanted to find a powerful company to cooperate with! Who’s the most powerful? That’s obviously Mr. Carter Hill!"

"What about you? What power do you have?"

I just looked at Jaheim Damon and said with a cold smile, "Indeed, I don’t possess much power, but maybe I’m that old Chinese medicine doctor?"

"Hahaha!" Jaheim Damon laughed even more exaggeratedly.

"If you’re that old Chinese medicine doctor, I’ll write my name Jaheim Damon backwards!"

I couldn’t bother to argue with such a petty person and turned my head away, ignoring him.

Jaheim Damon wasn’t a self-masochist either. He ran back to Carter Hill’s side, like an old dog waiting for his master’s praise.

Carter Hill glanced at Jaheim Damon and said lightly, "Well done."

"Thank you, Mr. Hill!" Jaheim Damon was overjoyed!

Following suit, the other businessmen also came to my face, mocking, and acting arrogant.

Facing these people, I remained silent. I just looked at them coldly and silently memorized their appearances.

Soon, Carter Hill came to where I stood.

He looked down at me and said, "I don’t know what you’re here for, to humiliate yourself?"

"The one humiliating himself is not me, but you," I sneered.

At the sound of this, Carter Hill snorted, "I’ll see how long you can keep your arrogance."

At this moment, Woods Walters came out from backstage.

His appearance instantly attracted the attention of many people.

Everyone started moving towards Woods Walters.

"Mason Raymond, we’ll settle our accounts slowly." Carter Hill left this sentence behind and went towards Woods Walters as well.

"Woods, where’s that old Chinese medicine doctor?"

"Mr. Woods, please hurry up and invite that old Chinese medicine doctor out!"

Seeing everyone’s eager expressions, Woods Walters felt a little smug for a moment.

He cleared his throat and said, "Please, everyone, calm down. I know everyone wants to get the prescription of the Soul Nourishment Pill, so please be patient!"

"Cut the crap, just bring that old Chinese medicine doctor out," Carter Hill said impatiently.

Woods Walters glanced at Carter Hill and laughed, "You’re so anxious, go away if you can’t wait!"

I stood at the side, watching this exchange with cold eyes. The businessmen who had mocked me earlier were now crowding around Woods Walters like flies to honey. Their desperation to get the Soul Nourishment Pill formula was almost pathetic.

Victor Green leaned close to me and whispered, "These people have no idea what’s coming, do they?"

I shook my head slightly, maintaining my composure while observing the scene. The Soul Nourishment Pill had created quite a stir in River City’s business circles, with everyone scrambling to get a piece of the action.

Woods Walters continued addressing the crowd with an air of superiority, clearly enjoying his moment in the spotlight. He gestured grandly as he spoke about the revolutionary nature of the medicine, making promises about its market potential.

From the corner of my eye, I noticed Carter Hill watching me with hatred and suspicion. His son’s condition was clearly weighing on his mind, fueling his animosity toward me.

I remained still, biding my time. Soon enough, these arrogant businessmen would understand their mistake in underestimating me. The "old Chinese medicine doctor" they were so eagerly awaiting might be closer than they imagined.

As the commotion around Woods Walters grew louder, I exchanged a knowing glance with Victor Green. We had prepared for this moment carefully, and now all that remained was to watch as events unfolded according to plan.

Woods Walters raised his voice above the crowd, demanding attention as he prepared to make his next announcement. The room fell silent in anticipation, everyone eager to learn who would be chosen as the business partner for the Soul Nourishment Pill venture.

I leaned against the wall, arms crossed, waiting for the perfect moment to reveal my true identity and purpose at this gathering. The expressions on their faces when they realized the truth would be priceless.
