Chapter 479: Chapter 479 Tearing Down The Pavilion

When this news broke, it sent shockwaves through the entire Martial Arts Forum!

On one side stood the renowned Medicine God Pavilion, on the other the northern region’s most powerful sect.

Two such mighty forces clashing head-to-head?

This had never happened before!

"What a crazy year," people muttered.

The past few decades hadn’t seen as many incidents as this single year!

"The Great Saint Sect actually dares to target the Medicine God Pavilion. From what I know, whenever the Medicine God Pavilion takes action, plenty of people rush to back them up," someone remarked.

"Exactly. The Medicine God Pavilion has incredible connections."

"But the Great Saint Sect isn’t weak either. They’ve got a Martial Marquis," another voice added.

That comment killed the conversation.

A single Martial Marquis carried too much weight. Nobody wanted to mess with that kind of power.

In this era, aside from modern weapons, maybe nothing could stop a Martial Marquis!

——

At the Medicine God Pavilion.

The Pavilion Master had heard the news too.

Staring at the Great Saint Sect’s public challenge on her phone, even the usually composed Pavilion Master’s brow creased slightly.

"Great Saint Sect..." she whispered.

The Eight Law Enforcement Elders stood below the pavilion, waiting for her orders.

The Pavilion Master stayed quiet for a moment, then stepped lightly and floated down from the pavilion.

"Lord Pavilion Master!" the elders called out together.

The Pavilion Master said nothing, lost in thought.

No one could guess what decision she’d make.

"Lord Pavilion Master, we’ll give everything we’ve got," several Law Enforcement Elders declared.

"Tomorrow I’ll rally people."

"Many noble families owe us favors. I’m sure they’ll help us out!"

Each of the Eight Law Enforcement Elders spoke up, but none showed any fear.

But then the Pavilion Master shook her head.

She looked at the Law Enforcement Elders and spoke slowly, "Tell everyone that from today, the Medicine God Pavilion closes its doors."

"What?!"

The Law Enforcement Elders froze.

At such a crucial moment, instead of gathering allies, they were shutting down?

"Lord Pavilion Master, how can we close now?"

"Right, if the Great Saint Sect attacks, how do we fight back?"

The Pavilion Master’s voice turned serious. "As alchemists, their calling is alchemy. Staying serves no purpose and only adds to the casualties."

She spoke the truth. The Medicine God Pavilion’s pharmacists couldn’t match the Great Saint Sect’s fighting strength.

"I... I get it," the Chief Enforcement Elder sighed.

As they prepared to leave, the Pavilion Master suddenly added, "You should go too."

All eight stopped dead.

"Us too?" Several turned around, stunned.

The Pavilion Master nodded slightly. "Yes."

"Lord Pavilion Master, why...?"

"Yeah, what happens to the Medicine God Pavilion if we all leave?"

"Lord Pavilion Master, absolutely not!"

The Pavilion Master’s tone stayed serious. "If the Great Saint Sect sends a Martial Marquis, you staying won’t matter."

"If it’s just a half-step Martial Marquis, they can’t touch this place."

Still, nobody knew the Great Saint Sect’s true strength.

"Lord Pavilion Master, the chances of the Great Saint Sect using a Martial Marquis are slim. After all, Martial Marquis haven’t shown up in years," the Chief Enforcement Elder bowed as he spoke.

"Let us stay too. We might not be that strong, but we can still fight."

Seeing their determined faces, the Pavilion Master’s brow furrowed slightly.

After thinking it over, she said, "Fine. Those at half-step Martial Marquis level can stay. Everyone else takes a vacation."

"Lord Pavilion Master, I..."

"No more words." The Pavilion Master cut him off.

Seeing this, the Law Enforcement Elders had no choice but to obey.

——

In the warehouse.

I was hungrily absorbing qi.

Streams of energy flowed into my body, and with my cultivation technique spinning, my dantian felt like a bottomless hole.

Above my head, the Three Pure Ancient Tree flickered and glowed, keeping my mind steady.

I had no clue what was happening outside.

Three days flew by in a flash.

My dantian seemed endless, having soaked up who knows how much qi without any sign of breaking through.

Meanwhile, the outside world started stirring.

River Town, always peaceful before, now buzzed with hidden tension.

The River Town residents naturally caught wind of the news.

"Damn it, when has this kind of trouble ever hit River Town before!"

"It’s all that Mason Raymond’s fault! That guy’s bad luck - disaster follows him everywhere!"

"We should kick him out of River Town!"

Just like that, Mason Raymond became everyone’s target.

But really, the fight between the Great Saint Sect and Medicine God Pavilion had nothing to do with ordinary folks.

These days, the usually busy Medicine God Pavilion had turned quiet and empty.

——

At the Great Saint Sect, Elder Adrianne finally got his orders.

"Remember, take the Lord of Medicine God Pavilion alive," Atkinson Samson said coldly.

Elder Adrianne quickly stood up. "Sect Master, the Lord of Medicine God Pavilion is pretty powerful. Should I... bring a Martial Marquis Weapon?"

Atkinson Samson looked at Elder Adrianne with disdain. "You think Martial Marquis Weapons grow on trees?"

"If five half-step Martial Marquis can’t handle one Lord of Medicine God Pavilion, don’t bother coming back to the Great Saint Sect."

Elder Adrianne wanted to argue, but Atkinson Samson didn’t give him the chance and walked away.

"Elder Adrianne, the Lord of Medicine God Pavilion is just a woman. Are you really that scared of her?" said Skyler Howe, a man in his forties, with indifference.

This man was Skyler Howe, one of the Great Saint Sect’s backup Elders and also a half-step Martial Marquis.

He and Elder Adrianne had fought over the Elder position before, but Elder Adrianne won in the end.

This left bad blood between them.

Elder Adrianne shot him a cold look. "Skyler Howe, don’t underestimate this woman."

Skyler Howe snorted. "What? Is she a Martial Marquis or something?"

"You think Martial Marquis are everywhere like cabbages?" Elder Adrianne mocked.

"Well, there you go." Skyler Howe shrugged.

"As long as she’s not a Martial Marquis, what’s to worry about?"

Elder Adrianne’s frown deepened.

He spoke slowly, "Even though we’re both half-step Martial Marquis, her strength far exceeds mine."

During their last brief encounter, Elder Adrianne had coughed up blood nonstop.

If they really fought, these five half-step Martial Marquis might not beat the Lord of Medicine God Pavilion.

"I think you’re just chicken." Skyler Howe sneered.

"You might not be her match, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take her."

Elder Adrianne’s face went cold as he sneered back, "I warned you. Don’t regret it when you get your ass kicked."

Skyler Howe sneered, "If you’re scared, just stay here."

After throwing out those words, Skyler Howe waved his hand. "Let’s go! We’re tearing down the Medicine God Pavilion!"
