Chapter 459: Chapter 459 A Feast Of Submission
If Mason Raymond doesn’t return by tomorrow, they might truly need to think about pulling back from Chuzzle temporarily.
Walton Greer’s force was overwhelming, and nobody could stand against him. Continuing to resist at this point served no purpose.
But Walton Greer dropped another bombshell the following day.
He declared publicly: "Anyone ready to bow down to me, Walton Greer, will be forgiven. This is your final opportunity."
The moment this announcement went out, hordes of people began flocking to Walton Greer’s banner!
Walton Greer purposely threw a feast to bring in Mason Raymond’s former allies.
That evening, countless individuals connected to Mason Raymond showed up at the celebration to demonstrate their allegiance.
Come midday, close to fifty people had assembled at the gathering.
Walton Greer surveyed the crowd and spoke coolly: "Smart birds pick the right tree to perch on. You’re all clever folks."
Everyone lifted their glasses together, brown-nosing: "Mr Greer is unmatched in this world, serving you is our privilege!"
"Absolutely, you’re already a half-step Martial Marquis so young, and you’re the top dog in Central Plains. You’re completely out of Mason Raymond’s class!"
Despite all the sucking up, Walton Greer stayed quiet.
He looked around and said flatly: "Conrad Schroeder didn’t show up, did he?"
The moment he spoke, the room went dead silent.
Pretty much everyone knew Conrad Schroeder was Mason Raymond’s right-hand man and a major player in Chuzzle!
"Conrad Schroeder really didn’t come," someone confirmed.
"That guy’s Mason Raymond’s pet dog, better to just eliminate him."
Walton Greer let out a cold laugh and went on: "What about Dimitri Brynlee? He’s a no-show too?"
At the mention of that name, everyone couldn’t help but suck in their breath.
Next to Conrad Schroeder, Dimitri Brynlee was even more famous! His reach stretched across the whole Central Plains area!
"Master Brynlee... maybe he didn’t get word," someone whispered.
Annoyance flickered across Walton Greer’s expression.
To him, Conrad Schroeder and Dimitri Brynlee carried more weight than everyone else there put together!
Yet these two were the only ones who didn’t bother showing up!
"Inform Conrad Schroeder and Dimitri Brynlee, they’ve got one hour," Walton Greer crossed his arms and said icily.
"If they don’t appear after an hour, I won’t go easy on them!"
The group immediately pulled out their phones to contact Conrad Schroeder and Dimitri Brynlee.
When Conrad Schroeder got the call, his expression grew grave.
"This Walton Greer is making us pick sides," Schroeder said seriously.
Uncle Leonardo, standing close by, asked quietly: "Should we... give in to Walton Greer for now? Mason Raymond isn’t coming back anyway."
Conrad Schroeder frowned, shaking his head: "No way, if I stab someone in the back when they’re down, I’ll be hated forever."
"Mason Raymond abandoned us and took off, and he’d still have the nerve to hate us?" Uncle Leonardo said bitterly.
Conrad Schroeder glanced at him, saying seriously: "Mr. Raymond might not know what’s happening in Chuzzle."
——
Meanwhile, Dimitri Brynlee got a call too.
His response was way more blunt than Conrad Schroeder’s.
Dimitri Brynlee said into the phone: "Tell Walton Greer, whether I submit to him depends on if he’s earned it."
With that, Dimitri Brynlee slammed the phone down.
His words definitely set Walton Greer off!
The banquet suddenly filled with terrifying killing intent!
"Fine, fine! Biting the hand that feeds you!" Walton Greer said coldly.
"You really are two faithful mutts. Let’s see what Mason Raymond can do for you!"
After saying that, Walton Greer stormed off.
Right then, Victor Green was pacing nervously at home.
"Walton Greer threw a party today, and we didn’t go. He’s got to be pissed," Victor Green said, rubbing his chin.
He stared at his phone, mumbling, "If I’m right, he should call to make us choose."
Mya nodded: "Yeah, we’re the people closest to Master Raymond, we’ve got to be Walton Greer’s main targets!"
But as the hours passed, evening arrived in no time.
The party had wrapped up ages ago, but Victor Green and Mya still hadn’t gotten a phone call.
"Damn it!" Victor Green finally lost it.
"That bastard Walton Greer doesn’t even think we’re worth his time!"
Mya rolled her eyes: "This is good news, at least we don’t have to deal with getting kicked out."
Victor Green complained: "Even so, Walton Greer isn’t showing us any respect..."
"Would you be here complaining if you were some big shot?" Mya rolled her eyes again.
Either way, Victor Green still felt pretty ticked off.
——
Inside the Hydrating Tower, I was wrapped in a blazing aura.
At first glance, my body looked like it was covered in wisps of white mist.
The qi inside the Hydrating Tower wouldn’t run dry, but because there was so much stored up, it seemed to flow in slowly.
What was shocking, though, was that ever since I entered the Hydrating Tower, the qi inside dropped fast.
A few days later, the qi was almost completely gone!
That evening.
I suddenly snapped my eyes open.
Powerful energy was tearing through my body.
A terrifying force made my body expand!
My skin started glowing, creating something like armor that fused perfectly with me.
"In just a few days, I’ve hit the peak of the Enlightenment Stage," I thought to myself.
I tried pushing further, but realized there was no more qi left around me to soak up.
"This place has such rich qi, and I actually drained it all?" I scratched my head, feeling a bit sheepish.
If Walton Greer knew, he’d probably blow his top!
He’d been training in the Hydrating Tower for years, with barely any drop in the qi.
But in just a few days, I’d sucked up every bit of qi, leaving nothing!
"Looks like I should go hunt for some herbs and try reaching the half-step Martial Marquis level ASAP," I clenched my fist and said quietly.
Going from the start of the Enlightenment Stage to the peak of the Enlightenment Stage.
The strength difference between them was beyond imagination.
The higher the cultivation level, the bigger the potential for power growth.
The current me, compared to when I first hit the Enlightenment Stage, had boosted my strength at least a hundred times over!
"With my current power, fighting Joey Ebony shouldn’t be such a pain anymore," I thought to myself.
"As for Walton Greer, he should be a piece of cake!"
