Chapter 44: Chapter 44 - Overlooked Fortune

He rushed to my side and begged, "Mr. Raymond, please, you have to help me..."

I glanced at Ernest Clive and smiled. "Mr. Clive might be better equipped to handle this situation."

Ernest Clive couldn’t suppress a bitter smile. "Mr. Raymond, please forgive my ignorance."

"No need for such formality, Mr. Clive. I merely stumbled upon the solution by chance. When it comes to professional knowledge, I’m nowhere near your expertise," I responded modestly.

This humbled Mr. Clive even further.

Ernest Clive thought to himself that such a young man with extraordinary skills yet such a humble personality was truly admirable. "This young man will have an incredible future," he reflected silently.

Then, Ernest Clive approached me, bowed respectfully and said, "I told you earlier that if you could genuinely find a solution, I’d be willing to learn from you as your student."

Hearing this, I hastily replied with obvious discomfort, "Mr. Clive, I couldn’t possibly accept such responsibility. We can all learn from each other; there’s no need for such distinctions."

Ernest Clive felt a surge of gratitude at my response.

At nearly seventy years old, calling me his teacher would indeed be somewhat inappropriate.

So Ernest Clive bowed again and offered, "Mr. Raymond, if you ever need assistance with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask!"

"Alright," I nodded in agreement.

It took Ernest Clive half an hour to undo the malignant technique. He didn’t linger afterward, leaving the Williams residence in a hurry.

I returned to the living room with Alec Williams and Theo Williams. Alec said gratefully, "Mr. Raymond, you saved my life. I’ll never forget your kindness!"

After speaking, Alec handed me a bank card.

"There’s one million in this account. It’s not much, but it’s a token of my gratitude. Please accept it, Mr. Raymond," Alec said with a warm smile.

Without excessive politeness, I immediately pocketed the bank card.

"Mr. Williams, did you seek my help for something else?" I took the initiative to ask.

Alec sighed heavily, "I won’t hide it from you; I do have another matter I need your assistance with."

"Under pressure from the Hill family, many of our company’s partners have unilaterally canceled their contracts. Most of the Williams construction projects have been forced to halt," Alec continued with another sigh.

"In just one day, the Williams family has been nearly paralyzed, and the Hill family shows no signs of backing down. Things will only get worse for us."

I couldn’t help but marvel at the Hill family’s power. If River City’s wealthiest family was powerless against them, what chance did others have?

After a moment of silence, I said, "While I sympathize with your situation, I’m afraid I can’t be of much help in this matter."

From beside him, Theo chimed in with a smile, "Mr. Raymond, if you could just allocate a share of your construction projects to us, the Williams family could make a comeback."

I paused before responding with some embarrassment, "Construction projects? Where would I get those..."

Theo looked surprised. "Mr. Raymond, don’t you know? Miss Sean said that you have final say over all the Sean family’s investments in River City."

"Yes, as long as you approve, our Williams family can secure Sean family construction projects," Alec added with an eager nod.

"The Hill family may be powerful, but they wouldn’t dare interfere with the Sean family’s projects."

After saying this, Alec Williams stood up, bowed deeply to me, and pleaded, "Mr. Raymond, you’re our only hope now. Without your help, the Williams family will surely go bankrupt..."

I was taken aback. I never expected Mabel Sean would entrust me with authority over all her investments.

Mabel’s move apparently wasn’t widely known. Otherwise, there would be crowds lining up outside my door.

I didn’t speak for a moment, just sitting there deep in thought.

"I have an even better business opportunity," I suddenly announced. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Alec Williams looked puzzled. "A better business?"

I nodded confidently. "Yes, the Hill family made their fortune through health products, and I have something even superior."

Looking at the current situation, I realized the Soul Nourishment Pill needed a powerful company to act as its distributor. Relying solely on an old hustler like Woods Walters wouldn’t be sufficient.

The Williams family, as River City’s wealthiest, were perfect candidates for the job.

I took out a Soul Nourishment Pill, placed it on the table, and said with conviction, "I can entrust this medicine to your Williams family to represent. I guarantee this product will become immensely popular. With it, you can not only compete with the Hill family but eventually surpass them!"

I knew that if the price was kept reasonable and marketed widely, the Hill family wouldn’t stand a chance.

But Alec didn’t see it that way. He clearly thought the Soul Nourishment Pill wasn’t reliable at all.

So Alec tentatively suggested, "Mr. Raymond, if possible, could you just give us one of the construction projects instead... we really cannot accept the good fortune of having this medicine..."

Although Alec didn’t say it outright, his meaning was clear.

He simply didn’t think much of the Soul Nourishment Pill.

I sighed, put away the Soul Nourishment Pill, and conceded, "Alright then. Just bring the contract to me tomorrow."

"Thank you, Mr. Raymond!" Alec exclaimed excitedly.

He didn’t realize he had just inadvertently missed a golden business opportunity.

I felt a sense of pity for Alec’s poor judgment.

"In that case, I’ll have Woods Walters handle the Soul Nourishment Pill agency for now," I thought to myself.
