Chapter 43: Chapter 43 - Sinister Find

My words couldn’t help but make Mr. Clive laugh. He clearly thought I was ridiculous for not even knowing how deep to dig while still daring to act like some kind of master.

Alec Williams’s face also showed obvious displeasure. I could tell he’d seen plenty of privileged young masters who relied on their connections to act recklessly, giving themselves all kinds of grand titles. And worse, everyone around them had to play along with their act.

In Williams’s eyes, I was just another one of those characters. It was clear he’d never been a fan of arrogant young masters like me.

But since he currently needed my help, Williams could only wave his hand and say, "Let things go according to Mr. Raymond’s wishes."

Several workers took up their shovels and began to dig where I’d indicated.

One foot, two feet, three feet...

Soon, a large hole appeared before us. However, aside from soil, nothing unusual was found. I stared intently at the hole, feeling an increasingly ominous aura emanating from below.

"Mr. Williams, shall we continue digging?" Several workers wiped their sweat, looking visibly tired.

Williams didn’t answer immediately but looked to me instead. "Mr. Raymond, do we need to continue digging?"

"I don’t see the need," Mr. Clive scoffed. "Some people rely on their connections to act recklessly, and I don’t have time to play along." His words carried a clear tone of defiance.

Yet I simply pointed at the hole and said firmly, "Keep digging until we find something!"

"Mr. Raymond, we’ve already dug four feet and haven’t seen anything. Are we supposed to dig through the entire earth?" Williams asked, clearly annoyed.

"Just keep digging," I replied calmly.

At this moment, Mr. Clive took a step forward and asked coldly, "What if we can’t find anything?"

I glanced at him and said without hesitation, "If we can’t find anything, I’ll eat all this dirt."

"Deal!" Clive waved his hand. "If we can find something, I, Ernest Clive, am willing to take you as my master!"

"Deal," I agreed with a smile.

The workers continued digging, and in the blink of an eye, another foot was excavated. By now, even they were getting visibly impatient.

"Mr. Williams, how much longer do we need to dig?" one worker asked, puzzled. "We can’t just keep digging like this..."

Williams waved his hand and ordered, "Just keep digging."

The workers had no choice but to continue their work.

"Kid, my time is precious, and I don’t have time to play with you," Ernest Clive snorted coldly. "As a favor for you being young, you don’t have to eat the dirt. But remember, there are always people better than you, so don’t be too conceited!" He flung his sleeves and turned to leave.

I didn’t respond but kept staring intently at the bottom of the hole.

Just then, a crisp sound rang out when a worker’s shovel struck something hard.

"Mr. Williams, we found something!" one of the workers shouted.

Upon hearing this, everyone hurriedly gathered around the hole. Several workers quickly began uncovering what appeared to be an iron box.

"Quickly bring it up!" Williams urged.

The workers didn’t waste any time and hurriedly lifted the box from the earth.

As for Ernest Clive, who had been about to leave, he stopped in his tracks and turned back, unable to hide his curiosity.

"It’s this thing," I said, staring at the box with a frown.

"Open it," I instructed, pointing at the mysterious container.

The men quickly followed my order. The moment the box was opened, a strong smell of blood filled the air. Inside lay a black knife, with traces of dried blood still visible on the blade.

"What... what’s going on?!" Williams’s face turned pale with horror.

"Everyone get back!" Ernest Clive stepped forward, dipped his finger in the blood, smelled it, and his expression changed dramatically.

"This... this is black dog blood mixed with corpse oil!" A solemn look appeared on Clive’s face. "Black dog blood, corpse oil, Enlightenment knife... Southwest Fury Soul Technique?"

"Such a vicious method. This... this is aiming for Mr. Williams’s life!" Clive murmured softly.

Hearing this, Williams’s face turned even more ghastly.

"Mr. Clive, who’s this... who’s behind this?!" Williams asked nervously.

Shaking his head, Clive replied, "I don’t know."

"So what should I do now?" In a panic, Williams grabbed Clive’s wrist.

However, Clive couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly and said, "Mr. Williams, maybe you should ask Mr. Mason Raymond about this issue..."
