Chapter 412: Chapter 412 The Enemy Of My Enemy
"He’s heading to Hanah?" Those words made Thor Suzanne shoot up from his seat.
He gestured for the cheongsam-clad women to get out.
Moving slowly, he made his way to the window.
"What’s his business in Hanah?" Thor Suzanne’s brow creased with worry.
"Think he’s after us? Word is, Mason Raymond took out over a dozen Peak Form Grandmasters!" Armando Suzanne’s tone was grave.
Thor Suzanne went quiet for a beat.
Sure, he felt some concern, but deep down he figured Mason Raymond was just another overhyped product of capital city backing.
All that talk about slaying dozens of Grandmasters? Pure BS designed to make him look legendary.
"If he’s really gunning for us, I’ll roll out the red carpet." Thor Suzanne’s sneer was ice-cold.
The Suzanne Family could call up maybe ten Grandmasters tops.
Only five had reached Peak Form, and they were nowhere near capital city caliber.
But Thor Suzanne thought it was plenty.
While Thor Suzanne mulled things over, footsteps approached from outside.
"Master, there’s someone here asking for you." A steward entered with a respectful bow.
"Someone to see me? Who?" Thor Suzanne’s curiosity was piqued.
The steward answered, "Don’t know him, but he claims he’s here to lend a hand."
"Lend a hand?" Thor Suzanne’s eyebrows shot up, a wicked grin playing at his lips.
"Well, well. This gets better and better." Thor Suzanne stroked his beard with amusement, then headed for the main room.
A man sat waiting in the living room.
His presence was muted, making him seem like any regular guy.
Thor Suzanne studied him. "And you are?"
The stranger rose first, offered a polite bow with clasped hands, then cut straight to business. "Mason Raymond has arrived."
Thor Suzanne let out a harsh laugh. "That’s all you’ve got for me?"
The man pressed on. "Mason Raymond came here to end your life."
That set Thor Suzanne off into full belly laughter. "End my life? He’s got the skills for that?! What a joke! If he wants to use me as his stepping stone, he better check if he’s got what it takes first!"
The stranger fixed Thor Suzanne with a cold stare. "Mr. Suzanne, Mason Raymond could snuff you out like he’s butchering livestock."
Those words hit Thor Suzanne like a slap!
"You got any idea what you just said?!" Thor Suzanne’s voice boomed with rage.
The stranger stayed ice-cool. "Forget about you – even I wouldn’t bet on beating Mason Raymond."
"Oh? So you’re saying you outrank me?" Thor Suzanne’s energy exploded outward, waves of killing intent bearing down!
"That’s right." The stranger didn’t flinch at Thor Suzanne’s display, staying perfectly composed.
Thor Suzanne’s sneer turned vicious. "Then show me what you’ve got!"
The moment those words left his mouth, Thor Suzanne’s fists clenched tight, and a thunderous Dragon Chant rang out!
"Whoosh!"
Wind currents coiled around Thor Suzanne’s fists as they shot toward the stranger’s vital points!
But the devastating punch got neutralized like it was nothing!
The stranger just raised one hand and caught Thor Suzanne’s strike!
"What?" Thor Suzanne’s expression shifted as he tried to follow up, but the moment had passed!
The stranger’s lips parted slightly, and a divine seal shaped like a landscape painting roared forth!
The seal took form in mid-air, radiating ancient power!
Suddenly, Thor Suzanne found himself completely immobilized, like his entire body had been locked down and slammed to the floor!
"Argh!!"
Thor Suzanne threw his head back and howled, fighting desperately to break free, but the divine seal held him fast!
"No use struggling. You can’t escape." The stranger’s voice was arctic.
Thor Suzanne seemed to grasp just how terrifying the seal was, so he stopped fighting and asked coldly, "Who the hell are you?"
The stranger answered casually, "Michelle Sect Elder, Zion Jaxon."
"Michelle Sect?" At that name, Thor Suzanne’s face went white!
Even though this group had been gone from Pyro for years, their reputation lived on!
Legend had it that when they pulled out of Pyro, they made off with countless treasures – herbs, divine weapons, martial techniques, you name it!
This organization had always been Pyro’s nightmare, since they were ghosts who left no trail.
"Michelle Sect... you’re not worried I’ll turn you in to the government?" Thor Suzanne’s sneer had an edge.
Zion Jaxon replied coolly, "Mr. Suzanne’s a smart guy. I trust you won’t make that mistake."
"Really?" Thor Suzanne raised an eyebrow. "I’m dying to know what makes you so sure."
Zion Jaxon looked at him with those cold eyes. "We both want something. I can not only save your skin, but help you eliminate your biggest threat – Mason Raymond."
"After you take out Mason Raymond, you can head to the Capital City and collect from the Sean Family. I guarantee the Sean Family’s reward beats anything the authorities would offer."
Thor Suzanne thought it over, then let out a harsh laugh. "Alright, you’ve got my attention. But I don’t get it – why not handle this yourself?"
Zion Jaxon shook his head. "Our organization’s been in Pyro’s crosshairs lately, so we can’t afford to make waves."
"Fine." Thor Suzanne had made up his mind. "What do you need from me?"
Zion Jaxon’s voice turned frigid. "Before we kill Mason Raymond, I need to take something from him."
"A martial technique?" Thor Suzanne seemed to read between the lines.
Zion Jaxon gave a slight nod. "That’s part of it, but there’s something even more valuable."
What Zion Jaxon called "more valuable" was Mason Raymond’s body itself!
The allure of a chaotic body far exceeded any mere martial technique!
The two hammered out their deal and sealed their partnership right there.
——
Right then, I had just stepped off the plane.
My first goal in coming to Hanah was taking out Thor Suzanne and getting payback for Roberts Joshua.
My second objective was working my way from south to north!
Ever since the Sean Family posted their announcement on the Martial Arts Forum, most of the major and minor northern sects had eagerly signed up for the Sean Family’s feast.
For me to try muscling my way into that scene would probably be a pipe dream.
That’s why I shifted my focus to the southern martial arts scene.
Time was tight for me, so I had to move fast.
"Guess I’ll start with your Suzanne Family." My eyes turned cold and razor-sharp, like the bone-cutting chill of a winter gale.
