Chapter 401: Chapter 401 The Treasure About To Emerge

Inside the Massive Crater.

I swept through the area with Watson Thompson.

Sadly, beyond the mask, we couldn’t discover anything else down here.

What remained was the boundless dark energy.

"The dark energy here is incredibly dense. Let’s cultivate here," I told Watson Thompson.

Watson Thompson agreed, settling cross-legged beside me and started drawing in the dark energy flowing from the crater.

The limitless dark energy flooded into Watson Thompson’s body.

Her absorption rate far surpassed mine.

Watson Thompson’s presence even made it challenging for me to absorb the dark energy.

This validated my suspicion:

Watson Thompson and that ghostly mask must share deep connections!

Left with no choice, I had Watson Thompson return to the stone chamber to train by herself.

As for me, I positioned myself under the massive crater’s illuminated section, gradually drawing in the dark energy from below.

Being a chaotic body gave me a natural edge.

The dark energy absorption flowed effortlessly, and with my cultivation technique running, my progress advanced rapidly each day.

I had reached Grandmaster Peak—just one more step would push me into the Grandmaster realm!

"Once I enter the Grandmaster realm, the heavenly tribulation will surely come. Then, hiding will be impossible," I gazed upward, contemplating the people stationed above the crater.

Naturally, once I achieved the Grandmaster realm, those people would no longer pose a threat.

Being unbeatable within the same level wasn’t mere boasting.

Time ticked by as I hungrily absorbed the crater’s dark energy.

Three days flew past in an instant.

The people above continued their vigil.

"Damn it, it’s been forever. Is this bastard dead down there?" Glenn Kessler grumbled impatiently.

Sammy Sean shot Glenn Kessler a look. "Don’t rush. Just wait calmly."

Despite his words, Sammy Sean felt restless inside.

Nobody knew how much longer they’d wait, much less whether any treasures lay within the crater.

Another three days slipped away.

Still no activity from inside the crater.

Glenn Kessler’s patience wore thin.

He moved to the crater’s edge and yelled down, "Hey bastard, you dead yet?"

I opened my eyes and replied coolly, "Even if you die, I won’t."

Glenn Kessler’s eyes blazed with fury. "Kid, do you know who you’re addressing? Believe me, I’ll end you!"

"Sure, come down here," I smirked.

"You!" Glenn Kessler’s rage boiled over.

I pressed on, "Mr. Tenny promised that once I surface, I’ll lead the North martial arts world! As your direct boss, you’ll take whatever I dish out!"

"I’ll be damned..." Glenn Kessler nearly choked on his anger.

A distinguished Peak Grandmaster getting lectured by someone in the Grandmaster realm!

"Enough!" Sammy Sean snapped coldly.

"The bastard’s not wrong—he is your superior," Sammy Sean stated flatly to placate me.

Though Glenn Kessler seethed internally, he swallowed his pride with a rigid expression.

"Bastard, how much more time do you need?" Sammy Sean inquired.

I looked up. "Give me three more days."

Based on my calculations, three days at most would let me break through to the Enlightenment Stage—the Grandmaster realm.

Sammy Sean considered this. "So, is there actually a treasure down there?"

"Absolutely!" I declared.

"There’s a massive weapon hidden here! Beyond anything you can imagine!"

A massive weapon?

Sammy Sean’s eyes sparkled.

The Sean family was expanding, and a powerful weapon was exactly what they required!

"Fine, I’ll wait!" Sammy Sean agreed eagerly.

——

Silence blanketed the crater’s depths.

Above ground, everyone’s minds churned with anticipation.

"Mr. Tenny, I have a concern," someone finally spoke up.

Sammy Sean glanced at him. "What concern?"

"We’re all serving the Sean family, and we’re the first wave. Once the Sean family truly dominates the North martial arts world, who’ll be in charge? Who’ll head the martial arts association?"

That single question exposed everyone’s hidden thoughts.

"Right, the North has vast territory and abundant resources, with talent constantly emerging. If a Marquis appears later, will his rank be above or below ours?" another person posed an even more pointed question.

Sammy Sean’s brow creased. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

He hadn’t really considered this issue.

Though Sammy Sean had been raised in the Sean family since childhood, he was only in his twenties, far less seasoned than Logan Sean.

Regarding personnel management, he also lagged far behind.

So this question stumped Sammy Sean.

"Then...you should all be equals," Sammy Sean said.

"Equals? Mr. Tenny, competition exists wherever people gather. Even brothers fight over positions, let alone strangers, right?" someone remarked with what seemed like a mocking smile.

This comment clearly mocked the Sean family’s current circumstances.

Sammy Sean wasn’t stupid and naturally caught the underlying meaning.

"Are you ridiculing our Sean family?" Sammy Sean’s eyes narrowed.

The speaker’s expression shifted, quickly backtracking, "Mr. Tenny, I absolutely don’t mean that!"

Sammy Sean said icily, "Don’t assume that because the Sean family needs you, you can act however you want. To the Sean family, you’re nothing!"

This statement made the scene much quieter.

"Mr. Tenny is correct," they all nodded in agreement.

But privately, they felt somewhat resentful.

Regardless, they were all heroes who controlled regions, and being treated this way—how could they be satisfied inside?

This was precisely what I was aiming for.

The scene quieted, and nobody raised this topic again.

——

Below, I continued my secluded cultivation.

The dark energy within my body had reached saturation—I was just a hair’s breadth from breaking through.

It was exactly this thin line preventing my breakthrough.

Time continued passing, minute by minute.

Before anyone realized it, another three days had elapsed.

Sammy Sean also grew somewhat impatient.

He leaned over the crater’s edge and shouted down, "Bastard, how’s it going?"

I slowly opened my eyes.

Taking a deep breath, I sensed the breakthrough’s critical moment.

Then I called up to the sky, "Mr. Tenny, the treasure’s about to emerge. Get ready."

Sammy Sean was thrilled and quickly responded, "Excellent, excellent!"

I said nothing more, sitting down to begin my breakthrough.

Instantly, dark clouds filled the sky, lightning flashed and thunder rumbled!

The dark light aimed directly at the Massive Crater!
