Chapter 380: Chapter 380 - Fearless Arrival

My face drained of all color as I stared at the protective jade pendant, now broken into fragments!

"Em...Mabel..." My pupils shrank in terror!

I spun toward the Lord of Medicine God Pavilion urgently. "Master, I have to get to Capital City right now."

The Pavilion Master’s brows knitted together. "Head to Capital City? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

I yanked the cord from my neck, jabbing at a tiny piece still dangling there, explaining frantically, "This jade pendant - I crafted it to guard Mabel’s life."

"When something terrible threatens her, this pendant breaks!"

"The pendant’s destroyed now, which means she’s in danger. I can’t sit here!"

With that, I spun around to bolt without a second thought.

But the Pavilion Master stepped into my path.

She shook her head. "There’s no point in panicking before we know what’s really happening."

"No point in panicking? How can you say that!" I shot back, fury rising in my voice. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Every single thing I’ve done has been for her. If she’s hurt, my entire existence becomes worthless!"

The Pavilion Master stayed quiet for a beat, then spoke. "You remain here at the Medicine God Pavilion. I’ll travel to Capital City. Should anything occur, I’ll contact you."

I blinked, caught off guard. My brow furrowed. "You’re heading to Capital City?"

The Pavilion Master nodded slightly. "She’s likely fallen sick. I’m confident the Sean family will allow me to examine her."

I clenched my jaw. "Master, I’m coming with you."

"Absolutely not." The Pavilion Master’s voice turned icy.

"You’ll stay at Medicine God Pavilion and concentrate on your training. Should something happen, I’ll notify you."

Despite her reassurances, worry still gnawed at me.

If Mabel was truly in trouble, it would feel like my whole world crashing down.

"I’m departing immediately," the Pavilion Master rose and announced.

"We’ll discuss advancing your abilities when I get back."

Though every fiber of my being screamed to rush to Capital City, I understood completely that my showing up there would only make things worse.

The Medicine God Pavilion Master held an extraordinary position. Her going might actually be the smartest move.

"Fine." I drew in a long breath.

"Lord Pavilion Master, if something goes wrong, you have to tell me." I bowed low.

"And please, stay safe," I added, my voice thick with concern.

The Pavilion Master offered no response.

She left the pavilion and departed for Capital City that very day.

——

Capital City.

Mabel Sean was confined to her bed, her complexion ghostly pale, utterly frail.

Several servants clustered around her, appearing completely lost.

"Has anyone contacted Mr. Sean?" someone inquired.

"Yes, Mr. Sean should be arriving soon."

Before the sentence finished, Logan Sean materialized in the doorway.

A foreign physician trailed behind him.

Logan had privately recruited this doctor from overseas. The man possessed not only remarkable medical expertise but also unwavering devotion to Logan.

"Mabel, what kind of performance are you putting on this time?" Logan said icily.

Mabel Sean, stretched out on the bed, remained silent. Her face was ashen and her lips had no color. She appeared utterly heartbreaking.

"Mr. Sean, Miss Sean is genuinely sick," the servant couldn’t stand watching any longer.

"Absolutely, she’s been like this for days," another added.

Logan scowled as he studied Mabel, sensing she wasn’t faking.

"Nate, examine her quickly and figure out what’s happening," Logan gestured and ordered.

Nate, the foreign doctor, immediately approached Mabel for a thorough medical assessment.

The examination stretched on for a complete three hours.

Unfortunately, after three hours, Nate shook his head. "Mr. Sean, Miss Sean appears to have nothing medically wrong."

"Nothing wrong?" Logan’s eyebrows drew together.

"Is she faking it?"

Nate stayed quiet, seemingly supporting Logan’s suspicion.

Logan’s face hardened. He stormed into the bedroom and yelled furiously, "Mabel, I’m warning you, quit the act! You think pretending to be sick will gain you anything?"

"Mr. Sean, Miss Sean truly isn’t pretending," the nearby servant protested.

"Mr. Sean, she’s still your beloved niece. You... you should bring in other doctors to examine her."

"Watching Miss Sean suffer like this breaks all our hearts..."

The comment immediately triggered Nate’s anger.

"Are you questioning my medical abilities!" Nate snapped coldly.

The servants quickly shook their hands. "We... we didn’t intend that!"

"No? Then what exactly did you intend?" Nate demanded harshly.

"What, my medical expertise is inadequate, and people can’t challenge that?"

Suddenly, a voice echoed from outside the room.

Looking over, they spotted Soren Sean entering with a woman.

This woman was the Pavilion Master of the Medicine God Pavilion.

"What’s that supposed to mean!" Nate, who didn’t recognize the Medicine God Pavilion Master, marched toward her furiously, jabbing his finger at her face.

The Pavilion Master’s expression turned frigid. With an invisible force, she severed Nate’s finger!

"Ahhhh!!!"

The searing agony made Nate shriek!

But in the following instant, the Pavilion Master flicked her hand, and Nate’s finger was perfectly intact!

This display of power left everyone breathless with shock!

Even Nate stood frozen! He kept examining his finger and gasped, "How... How did you manage that!"

Nobody bothered with Nate anymore, as all eyes had focused on the Medicine God Pavilion Master.

"The Medicine God Pavilion Master?" Logan’s eyes narrowed, a cold grin spreading across his features.

The Pavilion Master stated calmly, "Mr. Sean, I’m the sole person on earth capable of curing Miss Sean."

"You?" Logan burst into continuous laughter.

"I get it, you two have conspired together, right? Mabel’s faking illness to create a reason to meet you?" Logan mocked.

The Pavilion Master raised an eyebrow and said casually, "Mr. Sean, this is the Sean family residence. What could I possibly accomplish?"

"Why, does the mighty Logan lack confidence and bravery?"

Upon hearing this, Logan’s brows immediately creased tightly.

Just as the Pavilion Master stated, this was Capital City, the Sean family’s stronghold. He had no reason to feel threatened.

Furthermore, Logan didn’t want Mabel to suffer any harm.

"Big brother, allow the Pavilion Master to treat my daughter!" Soren Sean, standing nearby, couldn’t help but interject.

Logan glanced at Soren, then returned his attention to the Pavilion Master.

"You’ve got nerve, injuring Sean family members and daring to show up in Capital City alone?" Logan said, his expression somewhere between amused and serious.

The Pavilion Master smirked. "Is there anything I can’t handle?"

"Ha ha ha ha!" Logan suddenly exploded with laughter.

"One word from me, and you’d never escape Capital City. Do you believe that?" Logan squinted at her menacingly.
