Chapter 379: Chapter 379 - Shattered Warning
"Logan Sean, you’re utterly disgusting!" Mabel Sean glared at Logan Sean with burning hatred.
Logan Sean smirked coldly, "Just stay in line and follow orders. Not only will I spare his life, but I’ll give him a fantastic chance too!"
Logan Sean stopped talking and leaned close to Mabel Sean’s ear, whispering, "Don’t you want to rescue your grandfather? Just be a good girl, do what I say, and marry Vance Johansson. I’ll let them both live peacefully."
"You think I’d trust you again?" Mabel Sean laughed bitterly.
Hearing her response, Logan Sean’s expression turned ice-cold.
"Don’t mistake this for begging! I’m giving you a chance!" Logan Sean said with a frosty tone.
"Since you don’t appreciate kindness, don’t blame me for getting nasty!"
After saying this, Logan Sean spun around and left.
Mabel Sean’s face went deathly white. She desperately wanted to know what was happening outside, but under Logan Sean’s tight control, she had no way to find out.
"Please, could you help me? Could you get a message to Mason Raymond?" In her desperation, Mabel Sean could only turn to the Sean family servants.
But the servants kept their mouths shut and frantically shook their hands, "Miss Sean, please don’t make this hard for us. If Mr. Sean discovers this, we’re dead..."
Ever since Logan Sean murdered the last servant who helped Mabel, nobody dared assist her anymore.
Even Mabel Sean’s own father, Soren Sean, was too scared to visit her.
The constant pressure crushed Mabel Sean, making her body grow weaker each day.
Her complexion became even more ghostly pale, and she developed a persistent cough.
Logan Sean brought a physician to examine Mabel Sean, but the doctor couldn’t find anything wrong.
In the end, the physician determined that Mabel Sean suffered from heart problems that couldn’t be cured.
...
Time rushed past, and before anyone knew it, a month had gone by.
During this period, I barely stepped foot outside the Elder’s quarters.
Every day, I shoved one Vitality Enhancing Pill after another into my mouth.
The overwhelming amount of qi made my body struggle to cope.
My entire dantian felt like it might burst at any moment.
"Mr. Raymond, if this is too much for you... Maybe you should rest." Victor Green couldn’t stand watching anymore.
But I shook my head and said, "I don’t have that kind of time to spare."
"But... Your body can’t handle this pace." Victor Green let out a sigh.
Victor Green was right. I looked somewhat frail, surrounded by excessive qi, as if my physical strength had been completely drained.
The real problem was that my dantian kept expanding over and over, almost exploding multiple times.
Even so, I showed no signs of stopping.
I did everything I could to control the qi, slowly moving it through my body.
"Puff!"
Right then, my body couldn’t take the strain anymore.
I coughed up blood. When I checked my internal condition, I could actually see cracks on the outside of my dantian and blood stains.
"Mr. Raymond!" Victor Green rushed over and helped me up.
I wiped the blood from my mouth and mumbled, "Looks like I really do need some rest..."
Now, I had reached the Sixth Layer of the Monastic Stage.
As long as I could successfully break through the Monastic Stage within six months, I was sure I could make it to the Capital City.
But the further along the cultivation path went, the harder it became, and the more qi it demanded. This was exactly why I couldn’t afford to waste any time.
With Victor Green’s support, I made it back to my room.
"The Sixth Layer of the Monastic Stage, I wonder just how powerful I really am." I clenched my fist and whispered to myself.
However, there weren’t any suitable training partners in the Divine Alchemist Pavilion.
Inside the Divine Alchemist Pavilion, there were either top-level masters like the Eight Law Enforcement Elders and guardians, who were way too strong for me to handle, or others who weren’t challenging enough.
"This is really frustrating." I muttered under my breath.
Right then, I suddenly remembered someone.
That person was Mr. Adams, sent by the Sean family!
Even though he was also at Peak Grandmaster level, he was still somewhat weaker than the Law Enforcement Elders.
He might be perfect for sparring practice!
"Victor Green, has Mr. Adams left yet?" I quickly turned to Victor Green and asked.
Victor Green shook his head and said, "Mr. Adams has been sticking around the Divine Alchemist Pavilion lately."
"Perfect." I nodded.
Since that was the case, it seemed like a smart move to find Mr. Adams for some practice.
Of course, my dantian had been damaged and needed time to heal, so I wasn’t rushing to head out.
"Mr. Raymond, you should probably discuss this with the Pavilion Master. What if she says no?" Victor Green suggested.
I nodded in agreement.
Everyone knew the Lord of the Medicine God Pavilion had treated me well. Even just out of courtesy, I should report to her.
So, I left the Elder’s quarters and walked toward the Pavilion Master Building.
"Master Raymond, you’re finally out?!" On the way, someone spotted me and greeted me warmly.
I replied politely, "Taking a few days off, my body couldn’t handle any more."
"Master Raymond, we’ve heard about your achievements, we really look up to you!" Someone gave me a thumbs up.
This made me a bit uncomfortable. After responding politely to everyone, I quickly headed toward the Pavilion Master Building.
Soon, I reached the base of the Pavilion Master Building.
The Pavilion Master seemed to have expected my visit, because as soon as I showed up, the attendant above called out, "Master Raymond, please come up."
I leaped up in one bound and landed on the Pavilion Master Building.
The Pavilion Master was sitting in a wicker chair, quietly gazing out over most of River Town.
"I greet the Pavilion Master." I approached and bowed slightly.
The Pavilion Master said coolly, "Is your retreat finished?"
I scratched my head and said, "I’ve been pushing too hard lately, so I decided to take a break."
The Pavilion Master looked at me and said indifferently, "Your body can’t handle the excessive qi inside unless..."
At this point, the Pavilion Master stopped and didn’t finish her sentence.
I was stunned and asked urgently, "Unless what?"
The Pavilion Master got up and said, "Unless you have a meridian circulation cultivation technique."
"Meridian circulation cultivation technique?" I was thrilled when I heard this!
I immediately dropped to both knees and said, "Lord Pavilion Master, could you teach me this cultivation technique?"
The Pavilion Master glanced at me sideways and said, "Don’t you know how to search for things yourself instead of asking others for everything?"
I felt a bit sheepish, scratching my head and said, "Sorry, I was too anxious..."
"But...where should I look for this circulation cultivation technique?"
I searched through my inherited memories but couldn’t find anything about circulation techniques.
The Pavilion Master looked at me and said, "Do you really want it?"
I nodded without hesitation and said, "Yes! This circulation cultivation technique is essential for me."
"Fine." The Pavilion Master stood up.
"Get yourself ready, and I’ll take you there tomorrow."
"However, you need to think this through carefully. Many people over the years have tried to obtain the circulation cultivation technique but failed."
"The only result of failure is death."
I was suddenly shocked.
Death? The cost was too steep...
"What, are you afraid?" The Pavilion Master asked indifferently.
I gritted my teeth and said, "For me right now, I can only take big risks for big rewards, otherwise I don’t stand a chance."
"Well, this is your choice, and you’ll have to face the consequences yourself." The Pavilion Master nodded slightly.
I didn’t say anything more. I bowed again, turned around, and prepared to leave.
Just then, a sharp "crack" sound suddenly came from my neck.
The jade pendant hanging around my neck had broken into pieces.
"This... this..." My face went white instantly!
That was because I had personally made this jade pendant.
I gave one to Mabel Sean and wore one around my own neck.
If anything happened to Mabel, the jade pendant would shatter immediately!
