Chapter 375: Chapter 375 - Engagement Announced

"The Lord of Medicine God Pavilion?" Logan Sean’s eyebrows knitted together.

"Yeah, looks like the Medicine God Pavilion wants to shield Mason Raymond. We can’t touch her," Mr. Adams said, sounding frustrated.

Logan Sean on the other end drew a sharp breath and said icily, "I’ll have words with the Medicine God Pavilion."

"Mr. Sean, what about us?" Mr. Adams asked.

Logan Sean said coldly, "Wait. The second Mason Raymond walks out of the Medicine God Pavilion, take him down!"

"Yes, Mr. Sean," Mr. Adams quickly agreed.

After ending the call, Logan Sean’s expression turned stormy.

"Mr. Sean, what’s going on?" Klein Johansson asked with a grin.

Logan Sean clenched his jaw and said, "Is the Medicine God Pavilion trying to openly challenge us? They’re getting too big for their britches!"

"Medicine God Pavilion?" Klein Johansson’s face also showed a hint of annoyance.

"Hmph, last time the Medicine God Pavilion didn’t show us any respect either. They’ve gotten way too cocky lately," Klein Johansson said coldly.

Logan Sean glanced at Klein Johansson and said, "Why hasn’t your Johansson family made a move?"

Klein Johansson’s face flashed with embarrassment, then he sighed, "It’s not that we don’t want to, but the Medicine God Pavilion isn’t weak, and they’ve got ties with plenty of people in the Capital City."

"If we really went to war, it wouldn’t end well for anyone."

Of course, Logan Sean got this, but he couldn’t just take it lying down—that wasn’t who he was.

He grabbed his phone and personally dialed the Lord of the Medicine God Pavilion.

Once the call connected, Logan Sean tried his best to sound respectful: "Pavilion Master, Mason Raymond took my father’s body, which is completely unacceptable to the Sean family."

Hearing this, the Pavilion Master laughed, "Took the body? Mr. Sean, you can fool others, but can you fool me?"

Logan Sean’s expression shifted, and he said coldly, "So you’re saying you’re definitely going to protect Mason Raymond?"

"That’s right," the Pavilion Master didn’t hesitate.

"As long as he stays in the Medicine God Pavilion, I’ll protect him."

Logan Sean took a deep breath and said, "Fine, fine, I hope you won’t regret today’s choice. You should know that the Medicine God Pavilion isn’t irreplaceable!"

After saying this, Logan Sean slammed the phone down.

His chest rose and fell with rage, his face pale.

"This Medicine God Pavilion won’t give me any respect! Do they really think no one can deal with her?" Logan Sean said furiously.

Klein Johansson frowned and said, "Mr. Sean, it’s not smart to break ties with the Medicine God Pavilion over Mason Raymond."

Logan Sean snorted, "If she wants to throw down, what do I have to fear? Is my Sean family worse than some Medicine God Pavilion?!"

Klein Johansson stayed quiet for a moment and said, "Mr. Sean, the Medicine God Pavilion carries serious weight in the martial arts world. If they decide to fight back, our two families might not be able to handle it."

Logan Sean fell silent too.

Klein Johansson had a point.

For martial artists, even the strongest faced birth, aging, sickness, and death.

Getting the Medicine God Pavilion’s backing was like having an extra life.

This was also why the Medicine God Pavilion could be so arrogant.

"I’ve got an idea," Klein Johansson suddenly said.

Logan Sean looked at Klein Johansson and gestured for him to go on.

Klein Johansson said casually, "As long as Mason Raymond leaves the Medicine God Pavilion, killing him would be easy as breathing."

"What’s the point of stating the obvious? If Mason Raymond stays in the Medicine God Pavilion forever, do I have to wait my whole life?" Logan Sean said angrily.

Klein Johansson patted Logan Sean’s shoulder and said, "Mr. Sean, don’t stress."

"The beef between Mason Raymond and the Sean family started because of Mabel Sean."

"Since he’d rather tick off our two powerful families, Sean and Johansson, for Mabel Sean, that proves how much Mabel Sean means to him."

"As long as we spread word about Mabel Sean and my son Vance Johansson’s wedding, you think Mason Raymond can handle it?"

Klein Johansson’s words instantly hit Logan Sean like lightning!

He smacked his forehead and cheered, "Brilliant idea, brilliant idea! There’s no way Mason Raymond would just stand there and watch his girl marry someone else!"

——

Divine Alchemist Pavilion, Pavilion Master Building.

The Pavilion Master and Jerry Sean sat across from each other.

A teapot sat between them.

"Mr. Sean, it’s been thirty years since we last met, right?" The Pavilion Master said with a gentle smile.

Jerry Sean sighed, "Yeah, time really flies. You look exactly the same, while I’m knocking on death’s door."

As he spoke, Jerry Sean couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

The Pavilion Master said calmly, "Everyone has their fate. The Sean family’s business empire today isn’t something I’d want."

"Business empire?" Jerry Sean shook his head.

"When I was young, I thought money could buy anything. But now, facing death, I realize money means absolutely nothing."

"Really?" The Pavilion Master asked with amusement.

Jerry Sean nodded, "For me right now, absolutely."

The Pavilion Master smiled but didn’t pursue the topic.

"Let’s discuss Mason Raymond." The Pavilion Master poured tea for Jerry Sean.

When Mason Raymond came up, guilt flickered across Jerry Sean’s face.

He sighed, "Honestly, I always had hidden motives when I arranged the engagement between Mason Raymond and my granddaughter. The aim was to protect the Sean family."

"In your mind, Mason Raymond is just a chess piece, right?" The Pavilion Master asked with a knowing smile.

Jerry Sean didn’t argue, just sipped his tea.

"But to that boy, he sees you as family." The Pavilion Master sighed softly.

Jerry Sean sighed, "Things have gotten to this point, and I don’t know what to do. How events unfolded went way beyond what I expected."

"Maybe... the Sean family’s fall is written in the stars."

The Pavilion Master disagreed.

She stood up and said, "In Mason Raymond, there’s power you can’t imagine. Maybe in his eyes, your mighty Sean family is just the beginning."

"If his father could launch the Sean family, then Mason Raymond can keep it going."

With that, the Pavilion Master said nothing more, turned around, and left the building.

Jerry Sean sat there in silence for a long time.

After a while, Jerry Sean sighed quietly, "I hope so."

——

I lay unconscious in bed.

Every hour, Mya Winona would carefully feed me a pill personally made by the Pavilion Master.

For three straight days, my body gradually healed at a rate you could see.

The sword that pierced my chest missed my heart by less than half a millimeter.

Such a tiny difference saved my life.

On the fourth day at noon.

After Mya Winona fed me the final pill, I finally slowly opened my eyes.

I struggled to sit up in bed, frowning and asking, "Where am I?"

"Divine Alchemist Pavilion. Mason Raymond, you almost died." Mya Winona rolled her eyes.

I quickly sat up and asked anxiously, "Where’s Jerry Sean?"

"Don’t worry, he’s fine. You should worry about yourself." Mya Winona rolled her eyes again.

Just then, the door to the Elder’s residence was hastily pushed open.

Before the person arrived, Victor Green’s voice came from outside.

"This is bad, Miss Sean and Vance Johansson are engaged!" Victor Green shouted in panic.
