Chapter 369: Chapter 369 - Burst In
Sensing trouble brewing, he muttered quietly, "Retreat now!"
His two companions didn’t hesitate—they spun around and bolted!
The three moved with surprising speed. Before anyone else could process what was happening, they’d already put significant distance between themselves and the scene.
"Mr. Raymond, do we go after them?" the crowd inquired.
I drew in a long breath and shook my head. "Leave them be."
I chose to let them run for now. Eventually, I’d track them down and wipe out their entire bloodlines!
"Your help won’t be forgotten. When I’m done with these pills, I’ll make sure you all get your share," I said, bowing respectfully to the group.
"Thank you, Mr. Raymond!" they responded as one.
Once the crowd dispersed, I made my way back into Earth Fiend Valley.
"Mason Raymond, what’s really happening here?" Jerry Sean questioned.
I shook my head. "Jerry Sean, you’re breathing—that’s what counts. We should get back to Capital City."
But Jerry Sean’s face showed deep concern.
He raised his hand dismissively. "I can’t return."
I furrowed my brow. "Why not?"
Jerry Sean let out a heavy sigh. "Logan Sean has probably already declared me dead. With this new face and all, if he doesn’t know who I am, I’m nobody in this world anymore."
——
Jerry Sean had called it perfectly.
Logan Sean had done exactly that.
A father understands his son’s nature. Jerry Sean had seen this coming from miles away.
I stayed quiet, not knowing what to offer.
I pulled out my phone, planning to update Mabel Sean on the situation.
Instead, I found a text from Mabel Sean waiting for me.
"Mason Raymond, stay away from Capital City. Please, just hold on."
Reading those words made my heart skip.
Something had clearly gone wrong in Capital City.
I immediately dialed Mabel Sean’s number.
The phone rang endlessly with no pickup.
I wouldn’t give up. I kept trying.
After four failed attempts, the fifth call finally connected.
But Mabel Sean’s voice wasn’t on the other end. A stranger answered instead.
She spoke in hushed tones, "Mr. Raymond, please stop calling Miss Sean. They’ve taken her phone away."
Hearing this made my expression grow darker!
I bit down hard and asked, "How is Mabel? Is she hurt?"
"They’ve removed Miss Sean’s authority. She’s unharmed, just being held somewhere."
"Mr. Raymond, Miss Sean wants you to move on with your life."
I spoke urgently, "Can you get a message to her? Please."
After a pause, she answered, "Sure, what should I tell her?"
"Let her know I brought Jerry Sean back. And tell her to wait for me in Capital City. I’m coming for her. I’ll keep every promise I made," I said quickly into the phone.
"Got it." She agreed before ending the call abruptly.
——
After the call ended, the nanny crept carefully toward Mabel Sean’s room.
"Miss Sean, Mr. Raymond just called," the nanny whispered.
Mabel Sean shot up immediately. "How is he? Is he safe?"
The nanny nodded. "He’s fine. He wanted me to tell you he brought Jerry Sean back to life. He wants you to wait for him in Capital City. He’s coming to get you."
Mabel Sean’s face lit up with a radiant smile, tears forming in her eyes.
"What’s going on here?"
A voice cut through from behind.
Mabel turned to see Logan Sean standing there, his face like ice.
"Mr. Sean, I was just—" the nanny began, but Logan Sean’s hand struck her hard, sending her to the floor unconscious.
Logan Sean lit up a cigarette and said coldly, "So he brought him back, did he? Seems Thor Suzanne failed me."
Mabel Sean met Logan Sean’s gaze directly. "What do you want from me?"
"Ha, relax, Mabel. You’re family—my niece. I won’t hurt you," Logan Sean blew out smoke.
"Everything I’m doing benefits you. Marrying Vance Johansson beats marrying Mason Raymond, doesn’t it? Just cooperate, and you’ll stay Miss Sean."
——
Once Logan Sean left the Sean estate, his face turned stone cold.
"Useless fool! Couldn’t even finish off Mason Raymond!" Logan Sean snarled with fury.
"Get someone on Mason Raymond right now! Send our top people to take him out!"
By ’top people,’ he meant the Grandmaster Peak fighters!
Logan Sean wanted no more slip-ups. He was ordering the Grandmaster Peak to eliminate Mason Raymond!
——
My emotions were all over the place at that moment.
I filled Jerry Sean in on everything that had happened.
After hearing the whole story, Jerry Sean couldn’t stop sighing.
Then something seemed to dawn on him.
"Mason Raymond, get out of here now," Jerry Sean said, his voice sharp.
"Huh? What’s wrong?" I asked.
Jerry Sean’s face stayed serious. "I know Logan Sean. He won’t leave anyone connected to this breathing. Get moving!"
"I get it." I nodded.
"But first, there’s one thing I need to handle." My eyes shifted toward the Martial Arts Association.
——
Inside the association building, Rishi Angie lounged in his chair, studying the two pills closely.
For someone at his level, getting his hands on two Earth Rank Pills was like winning the lottery.
"Hehe, what a stroke of luck. Not only did I strengthen ties with the Suzanne family, but I scored these treasures too, haha!" Rishi Angie was thoroughly pleased and couldn’t contain his laughter.
Then a sound came from outside.
The office door suddenly exploded inward!
Rishi Angie looked up to see a figure standing in the doorway, staring at him with cold eyes.
