Chapter 34: Chapter 34 - Brewing Storm

The noisy and chaotic environment made me frown slightly. I wasn’t fond of such settings, so I found a secluded spot with no people and sat down. Closing my eyes slightly, I began breathing deeply. The dense spiritual energy surrounding me was rare, and I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to absorb it.

At this time, Harvey Brown and Lyla Lucas were also invited to the party. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Honey, I’ve heard that the host of this party is quite impressive. Isn’t that Chuzzle’s Xavier Hill? Is he very powerful?" Lyla asked softly.

Harvey snorted, "Of course. The Hill family is considered a top-tier noble family in Chuzzle, completely incomparable to our River City."

Lyla grew thoughtful after hearing this.

"And how does it compare to the Sean family?" she questioned.

Harvey frowned and then sighed.

"The Sean family is from Capital City, what do you think?" Harvey glanced at her.

Suddenly changing the topic, Harvey sneered, "But I’ve heard Xavier Hill is interested in Mabel Sean, and he might have come specifically for Mason Raymond."

Lyla became suddenly excited and said, "So does this mean Mason is in trouble?"

"You could say that," Harvey smiled faintly.

"Great!" Lyla was so excited she nearly jumped up.

"Just thinking of Mason Raymond’s smug face makes me angry!" she said indignantly.

Harvey remained silent, but his thoughts aligned perfectly with Lyla’s. A person who once wasn’t even worthy of carrying his shoes was now above him, naturally making him uncomfortable.

This party was attended mostly by second-generation rich, along with women hoping to attach themselves to wealthy men.

"Mr. Hill, Mason Raymond has already arrived," a white-haired young man whispered at the front of the party.

Xavier Hill squinted his eyes, then said coldly, "What’s he doing here!"

But then, Xavier couldn’t help but smirk.

"Showing up uninvited to embarrass himself! Just in time to add an impromptu show," Xavier said, squinting.

"Should we deal with him?" the white-haired youth asked tentatively.

Xavier shook his head and sneered, "No rush. I want to humiliate him first, to let him know lowly commoners will never belong in high society!"

The white-haired young man nodded, then said with concern, "If we do something to Mason Raymond, won’t Miss Sean be angry? If that happens... it’d be troublesome."

Xavier laughed heartily, "Don’t worry. Mabel Sean is famously cold as ice. It may seem like Mason Raymond holds her affection, but in reality, Mabel won’t care for anyone."

"That’s good," the young man sighed in relief.

Xavier was right; Mabel Sean was famous in Capital City, with countless suitors failing to win her over. Some even claimed her heart was as cold as ice. However, Xavier underestimated my position in Mabel Sean’s heart.

I sat in the corner, greedily absorbing the spiritual energy surrounding me. Such rich levels of energy, I had never encountered before!

"Mr. Raymond?"

A voice suddenly came from my side. I furrowed my brows, then opened my eyes.

A young man stood before me with a smile on his face. This person was none other than the richest man’s son in River City, Theo Williams.

"It’s you?" I looked at Theo with some confusion.

Theo smiled, "Mind if I sit here?"

"Suit yourself," I nodded, and after saying that, I closed my eyes again.

"Mr. Raymond, there’s something I’d like to say, but I don’t know if it’s appropriate," Theo continued.

I sighed inwardly. It seemed finding peace for cultivation was unlikely, so I could only temporarily give up.

"Mr. Williams, feel free to speak," I said.

Theo glanced around, then lowered his voice, "Mr. Raymond, you better leave quickly."

"Leave?" I raised an eyebrow, doubt showing in my eyes.

Theo sighed, "I just heard a friend say that Xavier Hill seems to hold hostility towards you."

I had already guessed this. Not surprised, I simply smiled and nodded.

Theo, seeing this, reminded me, "Mr. Raymond, don’t underestimate Xavier Hill, he’s from the Chuzzle Hill family!"

"And I’ve heard he brought an expert with him today, you should really leave soon!"

I scrutinized Theo and asked suspiciously, "Mr. Williams, we don’t seem closely acquainted. Why are you telling me this? Aren’t you afraid Xavier might hear?"

Theo opened his mouth, then smiled wryly, "To be honest, while I can’t afford to offend Xavier Hill, I really look down on him!"

After saying this, Theo’s face showed a hint of anger.

He continued, "Years ago, my dad had a business deal in Shiglance City that happened to involve the Hill family."

"As a result, Xavier claimed our Williams family were nothing but country bumpkins, peasants with a big house in the village, and told us to get back to River City!"

Recalling these events made Theo fuming with anger.

"Truthfully, I really don’t understand what Xavier Hill has to be so arrogant about!" Theo said angrily.

I couldn’t help but laugh. It seemed Xavier Hill truly carried a natural sense of superiority.

"Mr. Raymond, I’m serious, you should leave as soon as possible, otherwise Xavier absolutely won’t let you go," Theo urged earnestly.

I smiled and said, "Thank you, Mr. Williams, for the warning, but I’m not afraid of him."
