Chapter 33: Chapter 33 - Golden Opportunity

Woods Walters consumed one pill, then split the remaining nineteen into two portions.

He sold one portion to those seeking his assistance, while using the other as gifts for River City’s influential figures.

Though the pills themselves might not hold much value, the Sean family name carried weight.

For a cunning veteran like Woods Walters, he possessed countless ways to leverage these pills.

During the evening hours, Woods continued his typical nightlife enjoyment.

That particular night, Woods felt in remarkably high spirits.

Later, while lying in bed, he thoughtfully stroked his chin and wondered: "Could it be because of that pill?"

The following morning, just as Woods awoke, a crowd had gathered at his residence.

The group included River City business owners and upper-class personalities.

Their common denominator was having taken the Soul Nourishment Pill.

Upon spotting Woods, everyone quickly stood up.

"Woods, do you have any more of those pills from yesterday? I’ll pay one hundred and sixty thousand dollars for one!"

"Woods Walters, my associates in Chuzzle want those pills too. If you can get me several more, the project in the city’s west side belongs to you."

"Woods, you must save one pill for me..."

Witnessing this scene, Woods stood dumbfounded yet thrilled beyond measure!

"Alright, alright, everyone calm down, there’ll be enough pills!" Woods exclaimed with tremendous excitement. Never had he expected the pills I gave him would produce such miraculous effects!

That day, Woods hurried enthusiastically to my house.

"Mr. Raymond, do you still have those Soul Nourishment Pills from yesterday? I want every single one you have!" Woods eagerly requested.

I silently nodded upon seeing Woods’s reaction.

Clearly, the Soul Nourishment Pills were even more popular than I had anticipated.

"Come back in a few days to collect them. However, the price will need to increase; one hundred and sixty thousand dollars per pill," I stated firmly.

Woods couldn’t help but twitch the corners of his mouth.

Though the price seemed steep, he still found it acceptable.

Consequently, Woods immediately agreed to my terms.

"By the way, do you know any sources for quality herbs?" I inquired.

"Quality herbs?" Woods furrowed his brow.

After brief contemplation, he responded, "Mr. Raymond, you might try the auction house in South City. I heard they sold a hundred-year-old knotweed last month."

"Auction house?" I raised my eyebrows.

After thinking momentarily, I replied, "Okay, got it."

With ten million dollars at my disposal, I could certainly explore the auction house.

The Soul Nourishment Pills had minimal requirements for both the alchemy process and herbs, so I could produce them in substantial quantities.

Thus, my financial concerns were temporarily resolved.

That evening.

I suddenly received a call from Mabel Sean.

I immediately grabbed my mobile phone and walked to a quiet spot to answer.

"Miss Sean, what prompts this unexpected call?" I asked with noticeable excitement.

Mabel Sean explained, "Xavier Hill organized some business gathering and invited me to attend, but I’m not keen on going. Why don’t you go in my place?"

"Me?" I was startled, confusion briefly crossing my mind.

I harbored strong dislike for Xavier Hill; beyond avoiding his gatherings, even seeing him irritated me immensely.

"What, are you afraid?" Mabel Sean teased when I remained silent.

I replied with a wry smile, "Certainly not, it’s just that..."

"Are you declining the first test?" Mabel playfully remarked from the other end.

"Test?" Upon hearing that word, I promptly agreed, "Fine, I’ll attend! Just tell me when and where!"

Mabel Sean laughed, "Seven tonight, Riverside Villa."

"Very well, I’ll be punctual!" I promised.

Since Mabel framed it as a test, I wouldn’t disappoint her!

Additionally... I felt quite curious about what schemes these so-called big shots might have prepared. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

That evening, I hailed a taxi and headed toward Riverside Villa.

Riverside Villa occupied a suburban location with picturesque surroundings. A long, flowing river ran before the property.

Upon my arrival, the venue was already crowded with attendees.

Though labeled a business gathering, the event resembled a cocktail party more closely.

Various luxury automobiles lined the entrance - Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Bentleys, and Rolls-Royces among them.

My taxi appeared conspicuously out of place amidst such opulence.

"Hmm?" The moment I exited the cab, I raised my eyebrows as excitement filled my eyes.

I was astonished to discover that the spiritual qi here was remarkably abundant! Even more plentiful than at the mountain’s base!

"This truly is an exceptional location," I took a deep breath, growing increasingly excited.

By this time, the festivities inside had commenced, with numerous scantily-clad women dancing energetically.
