Chapter 311: Chapter 311 - Clear the Field
When Vance Johansson heard those words, shock finally flickered across his expression.
He spoke with ice in his voice, "When I last encountered him, he was merely a master. The chance of him jumping straight to Grandmaster level now seems slim."
"So Mason Raymond truly defeated a Fifth Rank Grandmaster while still a master?"
The steward gave a confirming nod. "Yes... yes, if Mason Raymond had also reached Grandmaster level, we wouldn’t need to worry, but..."
Vance Johansson fell silent, his expression frozen.
A master beating a grandmaster was practically unthinkable!
"Young master, perhaps we should strike first and eliminate this Mason Raymond?" the steward suggested carefully.
Hearing this, Vance Johansson’s face turned deadly cold.
He fixed his steward with an icy stare. "What exactly are you implying? That I’m weaker than Mason Raymond?"
"Young Master, I would never suggest such a thing!" The frightened steward dropped to his knees immediately!
Vance Johansson’s voice was frigid. "He’s nothing more than dust, and I could squash him like a bug!"
"If we act now, what happens to the Johansson family’s reputation?"
"Yes, yes..." The steward was drenched in sweat, nodding frantically.
Vance Johansson said nothing more, gazing out the window with a sneer. "Less than six months remain. I refuse to believe he can advance much in that time!"
Moving from Master to Grandmaster in six months was completely impossible!
So Vance Johansson felt no real concern.
——
The following day.
When I woke up, I began preparing pills ahead of time for the Dragon Tiger Team members.
I created two varieties of pills - one for treating wounds and another for boosting inner strength.
As long as these two pill types worked together with the body strengthening method, I felt totally confident about taking first place.
"I should start my isolation training," I calculated the timing and thought.
Right then, Watson Thompson burst into the room.
She grabbed my arm and shook it. "You promised to take me somewhere! When are we going?"
I rubbed my temples. "Can you wait a couple more days?"
"Absolutely not!" Watson Thompson shook her head firmly.
"I want to go right now. If you refuse, I’ll follow you everywhere!" Watson Thompson declared seriously.
I let out a defeated sigh, thought for a moment, then said, "Fine, I’ll take you there once, deal?"
"Perfect!" Watson Thompson nodded eagerly.
So I pulled out my phone and dialed Conrad Schroeder.
When the call connected, I asked, "Conrad, where’s the biggest cemetery in Chuzzle?"
Conrad sounded puzzled. "Mr. Raymond, why do you need a cemetery?"
I didn’t hide anything, explaining the whole situation to Conrad directly.
"For Watson to train properly, she needs to tap into dark energy," I said seriously.
After some quiet thinking, Conrad replied, "Most cemeteries around Shiglance City are public ones - no dark energy there."
Conrad paused briefly before adding, "But I do know one spot. It used to be a battlefield where hundreds supposedly died."
Hearing this, I said immediately, "Come get me. I’m at Jasper Thompson’s place."
"Yes, Mr. Raymond," Conrad answered.
After hanging up, I suddenly realized something.
Since Conrad now had the holy body, plus his Grandmaster power, his physical strength must be incredible!
Using him to test my own body’s power seemed like a smart idea.
Around ten minutes later, Conrad’s car pulled up to Jasper Thompson’s gate.
Watson Thompson had been ready for ages, wearing surprisingly light clothes.
Winter was starting, and Watson Thompson sat there shivering.
"Why are you dressed so thin?" I frowned.
"It looks good! Don’t you get it? Pretty girls choose fashion over warmth," Watson Thompson laughed.
I felt pretty helpless. I extended my hand and instantly wrapped Watson Thompson in a layer of qi.
Suddenly, Watson Thompson felt heat spreading through her body.
"Let’s move," I waved.
We both climbed into Conrad’s car and drove quickly toward our destination.
"This battlefield sits outside Shiglance City. It was once a village. But after strange things kept happening, all the villagers scattered," Conrad explained.
I nodded.
From Conrad’s description, this battlefield sounded perfect for training.
After driving for more than two hours, we finally reached the village Conrad mentioned.
The area was cordoned off with warning tape, and a sign nearby read: Dangerous zone, no entry allowed.
I stepped out of the car, frowning as I looked up at the sky.
Dark clouds hung over the village, and even more disturbing was the massive ghost face that seemed to lurk beneath those clouds!
"What’s that?" I asked, pointing at the ghost face in the sky.
Conrad frowned. "I don’t see anything. What’s the matter?"
"Nothing," I shook my head.
The ghost face seemed visible only to me.
"Something’s wrong with this place," I said quietly.
"Both of you stay near me and don’t wander off."
Watson Thompson looked nervous. "Why... what’s happening? This place seems really spooky..."
"Frightened? If you’re scared, you should head home," I said.
"No way!" Watson Thompson immediately clutched my arm.
Without more words, I led them both past the warning tape and into the village.
The ghost face in the sky hovered directly above the village center.
So I walked straight toward it without hesitation.
Soon, the three of us stood beneath the ghost face.
"Who goes there? Get out now!" A thunderous voice boomed as soon as we arrived.
Looking around, we saw two young men blocking our way.
I studied the two men. "Who are you?"
"Cut the chatter! Our master is training, all of you leave right now!" the two young men yelled.
At the same time, they released their auras in a burst!
"Grandmaster?" My eyebrows shot up.
Based on their aura, they were around first rank Grandmaster level.
I scoffed. "Your master’s training doesn’t concern us, does it?"
"How dare you! Our master is Lord Flores! Get lost if you know what’s smart!" they shouted angrily.
I scoffed again. "You’re really full of yourselves! He gets to enter, but we don’t?"
The two men replied arrogantly, "Because we’re stronger than you, this place is ours!"
"So you’re saying if we were stronger, we could kick you out?" I scoffed.
The two men answered casually, "Exactly, if you’ve got what it takes!"
"Really? Then I’ll make it happen!" I replied coldly.
"Conrad, clear the field!" I commanded sharply.
"Yes!" Conrad stepped forward, his aura exploding instantly!
