Chapter 309: Chapter 309 - Miracle Pills

The doctor’s words hit like a hammer, instantly draining all color from Bennett Maxwayne’s face!

"How... how is this possible!" Bennett Maxwayne staggered, almost falling over.

"Doctor, are... are you certain there’s no mistake?" Bennett Maxwayne begged with desperate hope.

The doctor replied icily, "I might doubt my medical expertise, but I won’t let myself be played for a fool!"

"Even a complete amateur could recognize a fracture!"

Bennett Maxwayne’s complexion went gray, sweat beading on his brow.

How would he possibly explain this to Commander Wood?

Right then, Commander Wood rushed over from the corridor’s far end.

"What’s going on?" Commander Wood demanded frantically.

The doctor quickly recounted the entire situation to Commander Wood.

Upon hearing the account, Commander Wood exploded in fury, "You’re telling me over a dozen men are critically wounded? Complete body fractures? How did this happen?"

The doctor sighed in defeat, "Commander Wood, I have no idea. They arrived in this condition."

Commander Wood whirled toward Bennett Maxwayne, his tone icy and sharp, "What the hell happened!"

Bennett Maxwayne trembled, stuttering, "I... I have no clue..."

"Your training program must be defective!" Commander Wood snarled through clenched teeth.

"Tell me, where did you get this training program, and is it the watered-down version or an incomplete one! Tell me the truth!"

At this moment, Bennett Maxwayne didn’t dare hide anything.

He dropped to his knees with a ’thud’, weeping, "The training program is indeed incomplete, but I never imagined it would cause such terrible results..."

"Commander Wood, I realize my mistake, please give me another chance, wuu wuu wuu..."

Commander Wood declared with contempt, "Give you another chance? A dozen men are critically injured, who’s going to answer for this?"

"Bennett Maxwayne, you better hope their wounds aren’t fatal, or you can expect to do prison time!"

The scolding left Bennett Maxwayne’s head spinning.

He sat dazed on the ground, completely lost.

A human life was worth more than gold, such a grave incident would drag Commander Wood down too.

At this moment, Commander Wood suddenly remembered Mason Raymond.

"Mason Raymond warned me that your program was incomplete. I wonder if he has a solution." Commander Wood mused to himself.

Bennett Maxwayne scrambled up from the floor, saying frantically, "Commander Wood, does he truly have a method? We... we need to find him immediately!"

With a face full of anger, Commander Wood said, "I really got you wrong! Let’s move!"

Bennett Maxwayne quickly rose from the ground, trailing behind Commander Wood as they headed out.

It was already deep into the night, the streets nearly deserted.

But a jeep was speeding away at high velocity.

——

At Jasper Thompson’s house.

I was standing in the bedroom, examining a piece of Best Thin Armor.

I hadn’t tested it since buying it.

The Best Thin Armor gleamed with a subtle light in the darkness.

"I should give it a try." I thought to myself.

Just as I reached out to grab the Best Thin Armor, the sudden sound of screeching brakes came from outside.

I looked through the window and spotted a military-green jeep.

"Huh? They’re faster than I anticipated." I said to myself.

Soon there was knocking at the door, but I didn’t rush, waiting quietly in my room.

A few minutes later, Jasper Thompson’s voice came from my doorway.

"Mason Raymond, are you sleeping? Commander Wood urgently needs you." Jasper Thompson called from outside the door.

I recognized the gravity of the situation, so I didn’t delay and immediately opened the door.

The moment the door swung open, Bennett Maxwayne collapsed to his knees with a ’thud’.

"Mason Raymond, please save me..." Bennett Maxwayne begged through tears and snot.

I gently raised my hand, a soft force lifting him up.

"Let’s go," I said.

Commander Wood looked puzzled, asking in confusion, "Go where?"

"To save lives," I replied.

"You came looking for me, isn’t that why?"

This surprised Commander Wood even more!

He stared at me in amazement, secretly wondering: had I figured everything out beforehand?

"We can’t waste time when lives are at stake," I pressed.

Commander Wood quickly snapped out of it and nodded rapidly, "Right, right!"

Then, the four of us rushed toward Chuzzle Battle Zone at breakneck speed.

Half an hour later, I arrived at the medical facility with the others.

Looking at those lying in the beds, I couldn’t help but frown.

"Mason Raymond, how does it look, do you have a way?" Commander Wood asked desperately.

I nodded and said, "Commander Wood, don’t panic, I can heal them."

Commander Wood immediately felt relief, shouting out, "Doctor, get in here quickly and discuss the patients’ conditions with Mr. Raymond!"

"That’s not necessary." I cut off Commander Wood.

During the Foundation Establishment Stage, I had not only developed my physical abilities, but my vision had also subtly transformed.

A barely visible gleam flashed in my eyes.

After a quick scan with my eyes, I had a basic grasp of the situation.

"Bone fractures, internal organ injuries, worse than I had expected," I murmured softly.

This amazed Commander Wood even more!

How did I know everything?

"Commander Bennett, could you please give these two kinds of pills to the patients?" I extended my palm, and over twenty pills dropped onto it.

The pills were only rice-grain sized, easy to swallow.

Bennett Maxwayne didn’t hesitate, quickly taking the pills and distributing them to the patients.

"Mason Raymond, when did you prepare these medicines?" Jasper Thompson asked doubtfully.

I smiled and said, "Didn’t you ask me yesterday what I was doing in my bedroom?"

Jasper gasped, "You... were you creating these pills?"

I nodded slightly, "Exactly."

"Do these pills actually work?" Commander Wood interrupted.

I smiled and said, "Just watch and see."

A few minutes later, the unconscious patients amazingly sat up in their beds!

One, two, three... in moments, nearly all the team members had sat up in their beds!

"Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable!" Commander Wood couldn’t help but cry out in amazement!

"Move around, check if there’s any pain in your bodies," I instructed.

Seeing this, everyone quickly began testing their bodies.

"It’s completely healed!" Commander Wood couldn’t contain his excitement.

"Mason Raymond, it’s my error for not recognizing your talents sooner," Commander Wood said with regret.

"From today on, you are the commander of the Dragon Tiger Team, come, let’s discuss this in the office!" Commander Wood eagerly guided me toward the office.

In the office.

Commander Wood poured hot tea for me.

His face beamed with joy, barely able to contain his enthusiasm.

"Commander Wood, I have something to ask," I suddenly said.

Commander Wood nodded, "Whatever you want to know, just ask!"

I asked earnestly, "Where will this competition take place?"

"Naturally in Capital City," Commander Wood replied.

Controlling my excitement, I asked further, "Can I go to Capital City as well?"
