Chapter 272: Chapter 272 - Shattered Chains

Helen Martin felt no concern, and was actually somewhat thrilled.

He had been puzzling over how to catch Mason Raymond, but hadn’t anticipated Mason Raymond would walk right into his hands.

I sent out my divine sense and swept the area around me.

Before long, I spotted Watson Thompson trapped inside the device!

My expression darkened completely!

I charged straight toward the device, determined to free Watson Thompson.

"Stop him!" Helen Martin commanded icily.

"Yes!"

Multiple figures rushed at me immediately!

But I didn’t spare them a glance. My qi burst outward suddenly!

"Boom!"

The crushing, overwhelming qi sent these people flying!

Those with lesser power died instantly!

Helen Martin’s eyes widened as he scowled.

It appeared that Mason Raymond had grown even more powerful!

"Everyone attack and block him!" Helen Martin snapped coldly.

The Eight Great Elders gave sharp nods. They rose into the air, hovered above, chanted incantations, and triggered Earth Fiend Valley’s techniques!

"Clang!"

As the technique activated, eight massive chains materialized from nowhere!

The chains shot toward me at lightning speed. Within seconds, I was wrapped completely!

My wrists, ankles, waist, and neck were all locked tight by the chains, leaving me unable to budge!

My steps came to an unwilling halt.

Helen Martin smirked, "Mason Raymond, don’t lose sight of where you stand. This is Earth Fiend Valley, my domain!"

"You think you can run wild on my turf? Do you actually believe Earth Fiend Valley is all bark and no bite?"

After those words, Helen Martin walked toward me.

"Mason Raymond, I’m claiming your body!" Helen Martin sneered.

Right then, I lifted my head.

I stared at Helen Martin with ice-cold eyes and said, "You think these eight chains can hold me?"

Helen Martin’s expression shifted as he suddenly sensed danger!

Before he could respond, golden light exploded from my body! Limitless power erupted!

"Boom!"

With my roar, the eight chains shook violently!

The Eight Elders’ faces went pale. They pressed their palms together, attempting to keep the chains steady.

"Crack!"

But sadly, the qi radiating from my body was far too strong, and it snapped the chains completely!

"Puff!"

The Eight Elders suffered immediate backlash and were hurled backward, slamming into the wall with force!

Helen Martin’s face went dark, and he stepped back twice without thinking.

Right now, he suddenly understood that the Mason Raymond before him was totally different from their previous encounter.

The power difference between them was like an abyss!

I ignored Helen Martin completely. I approached Watson Thompson and with a flick of my hand, destroyed the device!

Watson Thompson’s body dropped from above.

I quickly extended my arm and caught Watson Thompson safely in my arms.

At this point, Watson Thompson’s awareness was nearly gone.

She gazed at me with confusion and murmured, "Mason Raymond, is that really you...?"

I smiled softly and said, "Just rest now, everything’s going to be okay."

Sensing my warm embrace, Watson Thompson’s heart suddenly felt completely safe.

She nestled in my arms, and drifted off to sleep quickly.

I turned to Conrad Schroeder and said, "Conrad, look after Watson."

"Mr. Raymond, you... by yourself?" 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Don’t worry about it, they can’t touch me." I cut off Conrad’s words.

With that, I passed Watson to Conrad.

Then, I looked up at Helen Martin.

Countless ideas raced through Helen’s head, and his face kept changing.

Finally, a grin spread across his face.

At this crucial time when the ancestor was about to return, he absolutely couldn’t gamble with anything!

So, Helen forced a smile and spoke softly, "Mason, there’s really no serious grudge between us. Things don’t have to go this far."

"Oh?" I arched an eyebrow, definitely caught off guard.

Helen went on, "The bad blood between us comes down to this girl. Now that I’m giving her back to you, can we call it even?"

"Oh? You don’t want my body now?" I mocked.

Helen let out a breath, "Honestly, it wasn’t completely my doing. The pull of the chaotic body is simply too strong, and I got swept up for a moment."

"From this point forward, I swear not to desire your body again. What do you say?"

Though he spoke this way, he was raging inside.

Once the ancestor comes back, I’ll definitely tear you apart!

"Mr. Raymond, what’s your answer?" Helen pressed again as I stayed quiet.

I sneered, "You dragged me all this way and put me through all this hassle, and now you think you can brush me off with a few words?"

Helen’s eyes darted, and he said quickly, "Naturally, our Earth Fiend Valley will make it right."

With that, Helen reached out, and a snakeskin pouch materialized in his palm.

"This contains our Earth Fiend Valley’s sacred medicine, which will help you." Helen offered me the snakeskin pouch.

I opened the pouch and saw it was packed with pills.

And these pills were all giving off intense qi.

This caught me off guard.

Doesn’t Earth Fiend Valley work with dark energy? How can they create pills filled with qi?

"Mason, our Earth Fiend Valley can keep supplying you with these pills long-term, how’s that?" Helen continued.

I stayed silent, rubbing my chin, lost in thought.

Seeing that my stance was softening, Helen jumped on the chance and said, "We never harmed this girl, and you haven’t lost anything. You could even gain from these sacred medicines over time. Why not take the deal?"

I nodded slowly, "True, I haven’t really lost anything..."

"Exactly!" Helen said eagerly.

"So, Mason, not only don’t we have to be enemies, but we could actually be allies!"

I looked up at Helen and sneered, "Allies? With you scum? Wouldn’t that make me scum too?"

Helen’s face darkened, and he frowned, "Mason, what are you getting at?"

"You’re right, I haven’t really lost anything." I said coldly.

"But your Earth Fiend Valley is vile and cruel, destroying countless girls and families for your own power!"

"I’ve been sick of your Earth Fiend Valley for ages!"

"Become allies with you? You don’t deserve it!"

These words rang out strong and clear throughout the entire valley!

Helen couldn’t stop himself from breaking into laughter.

"For cultivators, ordinary people’s lives are nothing more than weeds. Mason, are you seriously going up against my Earth Fiend Valley for a bunch of worthless people?" Helen laughed until he was almost breathless.

My face grew colder, and the murderous intent around me grew stronger.

"Honestly, I have no clue where you get your arrogance... To you, regular people are like weeds, but to me, aren’t you exactly the same?" I said coldly.
