Chapter 262: Chapter 262 - Empty Courtyard

After I got back home, I sat quietly, waiting for Dimitri Brynlee to show up.

Based on our deal, Dimitri Brynlee would come to Chuzzle tomorrow to get revenge for his student.

"Mr. Raymond, Dimitri Brynlee keeps spreading the word, saying he’s giving you one final day," Victor Green said, his tone serious.

"This whole thing has blown up online," Victor Green added, his brow creased with worry.

I raised an eyebrow, confused. "Online?"

"Yeah." Victor Green passed me his phone.

When I took it, I saw the screen showing some place called the Martial Arts Forum.

"Martial Arts Forum... Never heard of it." I frowned.

Victor Green filled me in. "It’s the official forum for the Capital City Martial Arts Association. Pretty much where everyone in this world hangs out."

"Basically, when anything goes down, people talk about it here first."

Then Victor Green pointed to a pinned post. "This is what Dimitri Brynlee posted."

I clicked to read it and found Dimitri Brynlee bragging online, saying he’d take me out.

The River North Region spans several provinces and you could say it’s packed with hidden masters.

Even Dimitri Brynlee isn’t the top dog in River North.

That’s because the River North Region has way too many experts.

After I opened the post, I scrolled through tons of comments below.

"This Mason Raymond is way too cocky, clearly just some young punk but acting so bold."

"Can’t say that, people should have some spine. Just because someone’s from an older generation doesn’t mean they can make others grovel, right?"

"Mason Raymond represents the power of the new generation! He represents a fresh start!"

The forum was basically split into two camps: one backing me and the other backing Dimitri Brynlee.

After all, Dimitri had been famous for years, so naturally more people supported him.

I thought for a second and said, "Reply to this for me: tell him I’ll be waiting in Chuzzle."

Victor Green’s expression changed slightly. "Mr. Raymond, if we do this, it’ll be tough to save face later..."

I looked at him. "You think Dimitri Brynlee will back down? Guys like him care a lot about their reputation."

Victor Green hesitated before finally nodding.

Then Victor Green replied online, "Dimitri Brynlee, I’ll be waiting for you in Chuzzle."

Just those few words made this message, which was about to fade away, explode with activity again!

In just a few hours, the replies to this post hit thousands!

Nobody expected that I would actually respond first! 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

The next day.

The River North Martial Arts Association even sent reporters to cover it.

As for me, I got up early and stood in the courtyard, waiting for Dimitri Brynlee.

What was shocking was that from morning until evening, Dimitri Brynlee never showed.

This was pretty eye-opening.

Could Dimitri Brynlee actually be scared? Was he really going to ignore a challenge from someone younger?

Even I thought it was weird.

With Dimitri Brynlee’ skills, dealing with me shouldn’t be a problem. How could he go back on his word?

——

"Strange," The Martial Arts Association members frowned from the shadows.

"Is Dimitri Brynlee really scared?"

"Forget it. Let’s pull back and interview Dimitri Brynlee instead," the reporters decided.

Then several people left Chuzzle.

The River North Region covers five provinces total.

Chuzzle is the weakest among them.

The strongest in martial arts is Bergerac Province.

And Dimitri Brynlee is from Bergerac Province.

Right now, in a modest Chinese-style mansion in Peach Blossom City, Bergerac Province, an old man with white hair was drinking tea.

"Master, why did you break your word?" The disciple looked pretty mad!

Dimitri Brynlee stayed quiet, just sipping his tea.

The tea he drank was special; every leaf was bright green.

Most amazing was that the tea was filled with rich qi!

The qi’s strength was almost like herbs that had been growing for hundreds of years!

"How many leaves of this tea are left?" Right then, Dimitri Brynlee suddenly asked his disciple.

"Three leaves left," the disciple said.

"Three leaves... Decades have passed in the blink of an eye," Dimitri Brynlee whispered softly.

The disciple frowned. "Master, where did this tea come from, and why do you value it so much?"

All along, Dimitri Brynlee had been extremely careful about this tea; even his disciple knew nothing about where it came from.

Facing the disciple’s question, Dimitri Brynlee paused for a moment and then said slowly, "This tea is called Enlightenment Tea, and a mysterious master gave it to me long ago."

"Enlightenment Tea?" The disciple seemed a bit surprised.

Dimitri Brynlee sighed. "That was fifty years ago. Back then, I was just an ordinary martial artist..."

Fifty years ago, Dimitri Brynlee had average talent, making it hard for him to become a Grandmaster, let alone a Master.

During an adventure, Dimitri Brynlee met a mysterious master who was traveling.

It was that man who casually gave Dimitri Brynlee more than ten leaves of Enlightenment Tea.

And it was because of the Enlightenment Tea that Dimitri Brynlee became who he is today.

"If I remember right, the master’s last name was Raymond," Dimitri Brynlee murmured quietly.

"Same surname as Mason Raymond?" The disciple was a little surprised.

Dimitri Brynlee didn’t say anything more.

He stood up, hands behind his back, staring into the distance, murmuring, "I really don’t know... this luck of mine, all casually given by that master, I really don’t know if there’s any connection between Mason Raymond and that master..."

For this reason, Dimitri Brynlee suddenly canceled his plans to meet with Mason Raymond.

"Master, whether there’s a connection or not, couldn’t you just go there and see?" the disciple suggested.

Dimitri Brynlee was quiet for a moment, then said, "Let’s find the right time to visit Chuzzle."

"Yes, Master."

——

Even though Dimitri Brynlee didn’t show up, I didn’t rush to take down my formation.

That’s because nobody knew if Dimitri Brynlee would suddenly drop by.

Right now, in a big bar in Shiglance City.

Cornel Drake was partying on the dance floor, looking extremely happy.

"Young Master Drake, what’s got you so happy?" a woman in a tight skirt walked over and asked.

Cornel Drake said proudly, "Watson Thompson agreed to compete with me. She said as long as I win, she’ll do whatever I want."

"Oh? Competing with Young Master Drake? Isn’t she overestimating herself?" The woman in the tight skirt was surprised.

Cornel Drake sneered, "Originally, I invited that Mason Raymond, but I don’t know why, Watson Thompson volunteered to compete with me."

"Well, if that’s how it is, don’t blame me for not being nice..." A hint of lust flashed in Cornel Drake’s eyes.

Thinking of Watson Thompson’s tempting figure and sweet, innocent face, Cornel Drake felt desire surge through his lower body.

He couldn’t wait for that day to arrive.
