Chapter 259: Chapter 259 - Sectarian Threat

The concert hall buzzed with excitement. Among the audience’s enthusiastic cheers, Kathleen Drake finally appeared on stage.

One had to admit that Kathleen Drake performing was truly dazzling and captivating.

Fortunately, I was sitting with Kathleen’s friends, so apart from Watson Thompson, nobody else was screaming wildly.

I had zero interest in these kinds of concerts, so I just shut my eyes and concentrated on the Inner Strength flowing through my body.

Under my control, I released my divine sense.

By this point, my divine sense had become much more powerful. While it still couldn’t match Zendaya Andrew’s, covering the entire concert venue was no problem for me.

"Huh?"

Before long, I detected a powerful presence somewhere in the concert hall.

"A martial artist actually came to watch the show?" I rubbed my chin and instinctively glanced back.

Following my divine sense’s direction, I looked toward a nearby area.

Surprisingly, that person was staring right back at me.

When our gazes locked, they quickly turned away, pretending to watch the stage.

I frowned slightly.

The individual was a man around thirty, appearing unremarkable but radiating intense energy.

I figured the guy had to be at least a Grandmaster, maybe even Grandmaster Peak level.

"Who could that be?" I scratched my chin, feeling confused.

Still, I didn’t dwell on it much. A simple Grandmaster couldn’t harm me.

Hours passed quickly, flying by in what felt like moments.

The stage performance was wrapping up.

Kathleen Drake was doing her final bows on stage, and many fans in the audience began tearing up.

Even Watson Thompson’s eyes turned red, looking completely heartbroken.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Come on, you’ll get tons of opportunities to see her."

Watson Thompson wiped her eyes and mumbled, "You wouldn’t get it."

The concert wrapped up with thunderous applause from the crowd.

The moment it ended, I eagerly pulled Watson Thompson toward the exit.

Though Watson was reluctant, I managed to drag her out anyway.

Good thing we left early, or we might’ve been trapped in traffic hell.

After dropping Watson off at home, I drove back to my place.

Right now, I had way too much on my plate - the battle zone invitation and Dimitri Brynlee’s challenge were both major headaches.

Once I got home, I planned to set up another formation to deal with Dimitri Brynlee.

But as soon as I reached my house, I spotted two figures standing by the door.

They were young and old - the younger one was the same person I’d seen at the concert.

My eyebrows drew together as I walked closer and said in a low voice, "What do you want?"

The young man grinned and said, "Mr. Raymond, we meet again."

"Who are you?" I asked without expression.

"Hehe, Mr. Raymond, don’t you recall killing one of our people?" The old man said casually.

Hearing this, my frown deepened.

Killed one of their people? Why couldn’t I remember that?

"Mr. Raymond, it appears you’ve forgotten," the old man said calmly.

"Our member was brutally murdered in South City, courtesy of Mr. Raymond’s handiwork," the old man said with a mocking grin.

I finally remembered.

Back in South City, I had helped Marshall Clive eliminate an enemy called Scarface.

Scarface had warned that their organization would come for revenge.

But I hadn’t expected it to take this long, so long that I’d nearly forgotten about it.

"Are you here for payback?" I narrowed my eyes and asked coldly.

The old man burst into laughter and said, "Mr. Raymond, you’re mistaken. Such insects aren’t worth avenging when they die."

"Oh?" Confusion crossed my face again.

"What’s your point?" I asked.

The old man replied casually, "Should we discuss this inside?"

"That’s not happening. Just say whatever you need to say out here." I said without emotion.

I naturally had no interest in organizations involved in shady dealings.

The old man didn’t seem offended. He smiled and said, "Well, let me introduce myself. I’m the advisor of the Michelle Sect, Stewart Anne."

Michelle Sect?

Was that what their organization was called?

I frowned and asked, "What do you want from me?"

Stewart Anne said indifferently, "To be frank, the Michelle Sect always settles scores, and nobody dares kill our members."

Getting somewhat impatient, I said, "Can you cut to the chase?"

Stewart Anne laughed heartily, "It seems Mr. Raymond is a direct person."

"According to our standard procedures, we must take your life to uphold our sect’s reputation."

"However, our elders value Mr. Raymond’s potential and alchemical abilities, so we’re specifically inviting you to join the Michelle Sect."

"As for terms, you can state your demands, whether it’s money, herbs, or training techniques, we won’t be cheap!"

After listening to Stewart Anne’s words, I couldn’t help but sneer.

Though I didn’t know much about the Michelle Sect, I’d heard from Marshall Clive that they barely dared enter the country.

This was proof enough that they weren’t up to any good.

"Sorry, I’m not interested." I said without emotion.

Stewart Anne said with a smile, "Mr. Raymond, why reject so quickly? I can give you several days to consider it." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"No need to think about it. Like I said, I’m not interested." I said coldly.

"If there’s nothing else, I’d like to go home now."

With that, I turned around and started walking away.

"Stop!"

Right then, the young man suddenly yelled!

An invisible barrier materialized in front of me, blocking my way!

"What? Got something else to say?" I said with narrowed eyes.

Stewart Anne said with a slight smile, "Mr. Raymond, it’s fine if you won’t join the Michelle Sect, but you need to surrender the Nine Transformation Pill formula as compensation to our sect."

"Nine Transformation Pill?" I furrowed my brows.

How did they find out? Could Wallace Wills have leaked the information?

"Mr. Raymond, as long as you give us the Nine Transformation Pill recipe, the Michelle Sect won’t trouble you anymore." Stewart Anne said lightly.

I slowly turned around.

I stared coldly at Stewart Anne and said, "What if I refuse?"

"If you refuse, you won’t be leaving!" The young man shouted.

"Won’t be leaving?" My face grew cold, and I suddenly threw a punch backward, smashing the invisible barrier!

"Just with this pathetic trick?" I said icily.

The young man’s expression changed immediately, his heart filled with shock.

Stewart Anne chuckled and said, "As expected of the King of Chuzzle, truly living up to your reputation!"

I said coldly, "You’d better not bother me again."

Having said that, I walked toward my house.

"Mr. Raymond, if you don’t hand over the Nine Transformation Pill recipe, our Michelle Sect will never leave you alone!" Stewart Anne shouted from behind.

Originally heading home, I stopped in my tracks when I heard this.

I turned around and, narrowing my eyes, asked, "Are you threatening me?"
