Chapter 215: Chapter 215 - Cold Flames
Franklin Duarte’s reassuring words put everyone at ease.
These men weren’t martial artists and couldn’t judge the gap in power. They only knew both fighters were strong.
So they trusted Franklin Duarte completely.
Right then, the door burst open.
Woods Walters and I rushed inside.
The second they spotted me, everyone’s expressions shifted to pure terror!
"Mason...Mason Raymond survived!" someone yelled!
Several people scrambled to hide behind Franklin Duarte!
Caldwell looked the most shaken of all!
He stared at me, his whole body shaking!
"He...he actually made it!" Caldwell snarled through clenched teeth.
He whipped around to Franklin Duarte and said coldly, "Franklin, you’re up now."
Franklin Duarte nodded and said, "Relax. River City’s just a backwater town. How tough can anyone really be?"
Franklin Duarte’s confidence seemed to calm Caldwell’s nerves a bit.
Soon, Woods Walters, Victor Green, and I entered the pavilion.
When they saw me, the room went dead silent. Nobody dared make a sound.
"Mr. Raymond, thank God you’re safe!" Caldwell said with a fake smile.
I sneered, "Thankful? Or terrified?"
Caldwell’s face twitched, "What do you mean? I’m happy, obviously!"
"Caldwell, you’re absolutely shameless!" Woods Walters snapped.
But Caldwell brushed it off and said, "Woods, that’s your own weakness talking. Don’t blame everyone else."
"This Soul Nourishment Pill in my possession can accomplish so much more! Obviously, I’m the better choice!"
Hearing this made me laugh out loud.
"Who’s better isn’t your call. I hand you something to take, you take it." I said icily.
Caldwell forced an awkward laugh, "Right, right, you’re absolutely correct. So, Mr. Raymond, how about we team up to make the Soul Nourishment Pill bigger and better?"
"Team up?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Look at what kind of garbage you are. Do you deserve that?" I mocked.
At this point, Caldwell’s face went dark too.
He said coldly, "Mason Raymond, don’t get too cocky. Don’t assume everyone’s scared of you!"
"I’m warning you, the Soul Nourishment Pill belongs to me! If you’re smart, you’ll cooperate honestly, and I might still cut you in!"
"Otherwise...Woods Walters’ ending will be yours!"
"You’re fucking begging for death!" Before I could respond, Victor Green exploded with rage.
Caldwell quickly backed away, looking at Franklin Duarte and said, "Do it! Kill them!"
Franklin Duarte gave a slight nod.
He stepped forward and said with a casual smile, "You’re Mason Raymond? I suggest you leave now while you still can. Otherwise..."
"Bang!"
Before Franklin Duarte could finish his sentence, I smacked him across the face.
That slap completely crushed Franklin Duarte’s facial bones!
In a split second, a living person became a corpse!
Everyone stood frozen!
They never imagined the strength gap between Franklin Duarte and me would be this massive!
I sneered, "This is the so-called expert you brought? Some piece of trash dares to challenge me?"
Caldwell panicked, backing away as he said, "Mason Raymond, you...don’t come any closer..."
I shook my head slightly and said coldly, "Now you’re scared?"
Caldwell gritted his teeth and said, "Mr. Raymond, I see my error. Can...can you forgive me?"
"No." I didn’t hesitate.
"You’re dying today."
Hearing those words, Caldwell’s face contorted with terror!
He suddenly yanked a gun from his waist and aimed it at me!
"Mason Raymond, you pushed me to this! Now neither of us gets out easy!" Caldwell screamed through gritted teeth.
I sneered, "This is what you’re counting on? You think I’ll be afraid?"
While talking, I walked toward Caldwell one step at a time.
Cold sweat poured down Caldwell’s forehead. He retreated while yelling, "Don’t you fucking push me!"
"Fire." My pace never slowed.
"Fire!"
A roar! Caldwell suddenly screamed like a lunatic!
The next moment, he pulled the trigger, and the gunshot echoed deafeningly!
But Caldwell was horrified to discover that the bullet only left a white scratch on my body.
My body glowed with golden light, and even bullets couldn’t hurt me at all!
Right then, Caldwell completely lost it.
His legs buckled, and he dropped to his knees with a "thud."
"I... I was wrong. Please spare me, spare me..." Facing death, Caldwell sobbed like a child.
But my heart held no trace of mercy.
Letting Caldwell live would definitely be trouble.
"Before you die, let me ask you something." I said coldly.
Caldwell quickly lifted his head and said, "Ask, ask."
"That shipment of herbs from the West suburb warehouse, where’d you get them?" I asked.
Caldwell’s eyes shifted around as he tentatively said, "If I tell you, would you let me live?"
"No." I shook my head.
"You have no right to negotiate with me."
Caldwell clenched his teeth and said, "Then I’ll never tell you!"
"Fine." I nodded.
As light began glowing in my hands and I was about to strike, Woods Walters suddenly shouted, "Mr. Raymond, leave him to me. I swear I’ll make him talk!"
I thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright."
Woods Walters glared at Caldwell, grinding his teeth as he said, "Caldwell, your good times are finished!"
After that, Woods called over his old crew.
Several men quickly dragged Caldwell to the car.
By the time they got him in the vehicle, Caldwell was too scared to even stand.
After they hauled him away, I looked at the businessmen who were still there.
"Mr. Raymond, we...we know we messed up..." they said, trembling.
"Yes, please spare us. Without us, who would work for you..."
"You can’t handle everything alone, can you?"
Hearing this made me laugh coldly.
"You guys...really overestimate yourselves." I sighed.
"I was planning to let you live, but since you said that, let’s just eliminate all of you."
As soon as those words left my mouth, everyone froze.
I was actually going to kill them all?
"Mr. Raymond, you..."
"Whoosh!"
Before they could finish talking, cold flames descended on them.
Excruciating agony, the scene filled with screams!
The Blue Spirit Fire could consume almost everything, and within minutes, they were all reduced to ash.
The wind picked up, and nothing remained at the scene, as if nothing had ever occurred.
Standing there, my heart felt completely empty of emotion.
I couldn’t tell if it was from growing stronger or absorbing dark energy.
Without realizing it, my heart had become increasingly cold.
