Chapter 194: Chapter 194 - Defiant Call

He surveyed the people surrounding him, his eyes blazing with fury!

"What are you staring at? Isn’t it obvious? That factory was under your supervision."

"Exactly, and don’t forget about Elder Drake!"

Conrad Schroeder fixed Woods Walters with an icy stare and remarked dispassionately, "Having just arrived in River City, I certainly need someone to help establish my authority, and you fit the bill perfectly."

Woods Walters gulped nervously but attempted to maintain his composure. "Mr. Schroeder, I’m confident Mr. Raymond will definitely return, he—"

"Bang!"

Conrad Schroeder’s hand struck before Woods Walters could complete his sentence!

"A mere nobody like you dares claim the title ’Sir’?" Conrad Schroeder said icily.

Though he hadn’t used his full strength, Woods Walters, being just an ordinary person, suffered serious injuries, coughing up fresh blood repeatedly!

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, Conrad Schroeder’s attention shifted to Kenneth.

Eyeing Kenneth coldly, he asked, "You want me dead?"

Kenneth’s muscles tensed immediately.

Conrad had somehow detected his unintentional murderous intent!

"I must say, I admire your audacity," Conrad Schroeder sneered.

"Just a lapdog, yet you harbor thoughts of killing me?" Conrad flicked his finger, releasing a burst of energy!

A sharp crack echoed!

Kenneth’s knees shattered instantly, causing him to collapse to the ground with a heavy thud!

Looking down at the kneeling Kenneth, Conrad’s eyes flashed with disdain.

"Both of you will serve nicely to establish my authority," Conrad announced as he stood.

Since establishing authority was his goal, he needed people to experience fear firsthand.

Conrad’s hands began to emit a stream of energy.

The energy flowed and twisted, eventually forming the shape of a dragon’s head!

This technique matched the Divine Dragon Fist that Tristin Schroeder had previously demonstrated!

"Truly, Mr. Schroeder possesses immortal powers! Such incredible skills!"

"Mr. Schroeder is the genuine dragon of our era!"

Everyone started flattering him, their expressions reflecting genuine shock!

How could these ordinary folks comprehend such techniques? To them, this appeared simply divine!

Conrad Schroeder regarded them indifferently, as if the lives before him held no more significance than blades of grass.

"Rest assured, tomorrow your corpses will adorn the wall," Conrad stated flatly.

Just as he prepared to unleash his technique, his phone suddenly rang.

Checking it, Uncle Armando hastily handed it to Conrad.

"Master, it’s Mason Raymond calling!" Uncle Armando exclaimed.

"Oh?" Conrad raised an eyebrow.

Taking the phone, he sneered, "This Mason Raymond actually dares to call me?"

"Probably begging for mercy," Uncle Armando commented from beside him. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Conrad snorted: "Mercy? If I don’t tear him to shreds, I’m not Conrad Schroeder!"

He then answered the call.

"Mason Raymond, you—"

"Listen up, you old bastard, let me make this clear—this matter concerns no one else, so you better not target innocent people!" Before Conrad could finish speaking, my angry words cut him off!

I heard Conrad’s face transform with rage through his voice.

"Mason Raymond, do you realize what you’re saying!" Conrad bellowed.

I replied coldly, "Within twenty hours, I’ll reach Shiglance City, so prepare yourself for when I chop off your miserable head!"

Conrad’s fury was palpable even through the phone, his murderous aura practically radiating across the connection!

In his many years ruling Chuzzle, nobody had ever addressed him so disrespectfully!

"Right now, I’m standing in your home," Conrad stated coldly.

"If you dare insult me, you must face consequences," Conrad added with a chilling smile.

I didn’t panic but instead countered with a sneer, "Conrad Schroeder, I should tell you—I left a mark on your son’s body, and with a single thought, I can reduce him to ashes."

"If you want your son to live, you’d better wait obediently for my return."

Conrad’s expression likely faltered, but he erupted in laughter: "Are you attempting to frighten me? Do you think I scare so easily?"

"Test me if you don’t believe it! Oh, I forgot to mention—I’m an alchemist, and such marks are child’s play for me," I taunted.

Conrad’s expression probably darkened considerably.

He snarled: "Fine, Mason Raymond, I’ll be waiting! I’ll personally tear you apart!"

"I’ll find you in Shiglance City within three days. Wait for me," I stated coldly.

After delivering my message, I hung up abruptly.

Conrad’s face likely turned livid as he instinctively looked toward Uncle Armando.

Uncle Armando spoke gravely, "Mason Raymond truly is an alchemist who controls Blue Spirit Fire."

"Blue Spirit Fire?" This apparently surprised Conrad somewhat.

Despite his long life, he’d never encountered Blue Spirit Fire!

"You two are fortunate," Conrad likely told Woods Walters and Kenneth.

Then, waving dismissively, he said, "Let’s go home!"

Conrad and Uncle Armando quickly departed River City.

Meanwhile, I raced back at maximum speed.

The "mark" I mentioned was complete nonsense. If Tristin Schroeder hadn’t been so persistent, I wouldn’t have even considered harming him, let alone planting some magical mark.

But to protect everyone, I had no choice but to bluff.

In the living room, Woods Walters glared at everyone and said through clenched teeth, "You’ll all face retribution! When Mr. Raymond returns, he’ll show no mercy!"

"Hehe, how much longer do you think Mason Raymond will survive?" These people remained unfazed.

"Woods Walters, everyone knows Mason Raymond has offended Conrad Schroeder, and you’re Mason’s man. How much longer can you act so arrogant?"

Woods Walters’ expression hardened. Without another word, he lifted the injured Kenneth and left Dragon Mountain Community.

Time passed quickly, and twenty hours vanished in moments.

Jasper Thompson waited anxiously at the airport. When I disembarked, he rushed over.

"Mason, you’re being reckless," Jasper shook his head.

I glanced at Jasper and responded, "If I hadn’t returned, innocent people would have suffered."

Jasper started to speak, then sighed, "Mason, I’m not sure if I should say this."

"Which successful person hasn’t climbed over others to reach the top? And who among them remains truly innocent?"

"For some, sacrifice is simply destiny."

Hearing this, my face darkened instantly!

I fixed Jasper with a cold stare and said, "Mr. Thompson, you might view people as disposable tools, but I see things differently. Every life deserves respect."

"Those in positions of power should show compassion toward those below, not tyranny."

"I believe we should have the right to question authority, not strip the vulnerable of their dignity and lives."

"Mr. Thompson, I never want to hear such words from you again."

My statement left Jasper speechless.

He seemed to find my words strangely familiar, as if he’d heard them before.

"Miss Sean?" Jasper suddenly recalled.

Mabel Sean had once expressed similar sentiments.
