Chapter 187: Chapter 187 - Golden Defiance

I sat quietly next to Kathleen Drake, who was dealing with an increasingly tense situation. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she processed what was happening around her.

Just moments ago, the other passengers had been calling her name, but now they wanted to push her into danger with these bandits.

"You..." Kathleen’s face twisted in anger, words failing her.

"Did you hear that? If you don’t cooperate, they’re all going to die," one bandit sneered at her.

Kathleen clenched her teeth and responded, "Don’t even think about touching me! If you have the guts, just kill me!"

The two bandits erupted into laughter at her defiance.

Outside, the passengers grew even more furious.

"Kathleen, how can you be so selfish?" someone shouted.

Another voice called out, "That’s right, do you want us to die with you?"

"We used to be your fans. Now we’re unfollowing you!"

"Hurry up and cooperate, or we won’t let you off!"

Their shouts only widened the bandits’ smiles while Kathleen’s face turned ashen.

She gritted her teeth and said, "Weren’t you just here for money? You’re going back on your word!"

"Hahaha, are you trying to reason with bandits? Are you out of your mind?" The two men burst into laughter.

One of them turned to address the crowd outside. "Don’t worry, everyone. We’ll share the spoils with you."

The passengers’ eyes lit up at this promise. They had only seen Kathleen on TV before, but today they could witness something far more intimate. To them, it seemed like a blessing in disguise.

"You..." Kathleen trembled with anger, and she glanced at me sitting beside her.

I remained unmoved, as if I couldn’t hear anything happening around me. At that moment, Kathleen looked utterly hopeless.

"Don’t waste your efforts. Just relax, Miss Star. We’ll make you feel comfortable," one bandit said. After these words, both men walked toward Kathleen with lecherous expressions.

Just then, I felt something change within my body. Golden streaks of light began emanating from me. The light wasn’t particularly strong, but it immediately caught the bandits’ attention.

"Huh? What’s this?" they exclaimed in surprise.

One of them looked me over and concluded, "As expected of a star, this kid must be Kathleen’s special effects artist, right?"

"Tsk tsk, I have to say, these special effects are really amazing. They can even deceive the eyes."

The golden light slowly gathered around my body until it clung to me entirely. For a moment, my body appeared covered with golden armor, looking quite dazzling.

"Fucking hell, is this special effects guy not done yet!" The bandits grew impatient.

They reached out to grab me, trying to drag me aside, but found I was as sturdy as a rock and didn’t budge an inch.

"Huh? This kid is pretty strong." They seemed taken aback and exerted even more force to pull at me.

Just then, I opened my eyes wide and looked down at the golden light wrapped around my body. "My body... it seems to have become even harder," I muttered softly.

Each breakthrough in the Foundation Establishment Stage unleashed the maximum potential of one’s talent. Along with the improvement in my strength, my body had undergone a qualitative change.

"Kid, get out of the way! Can’t you hear?" The bandit beside me roared.

It was then that I clearly saw the situation before me. I frowned slightly and asked, "Who are you?"

"Who are we? We’re fucking bandits! Get the hell out of the way!" they impatiently replied.

"Ah, so you are bandits," I responded with understanding.

Kathleen hurriedly nodded her head beside me. "Yes, they’ve taken everyone’s money and... and they’re trying to do something indecent to me..."

The bandits grew more impatient. "So what if we’re bandits? What can you do? Hand over your money!"

"I don’t have any money," I shook my head.

"No money? You’re fucking sitting in the first-class cabin, and you say you have no money?!" The two bandits were furious.

I sneered at them. "Even if I had money, I wouldn’t give it to you. You return the stolen money to them now, and I’ll spare your lives."

"You’re fucking looking for death!" The bandits were thoroughly enraged by my words.

They clenched their fists and slammed them into my body. I didn’t dodge or hide, letting their fists land directly on me.

With a metallic "clang," they suddenly felt their fists go numb as if they had hit solid steel.

"Put some strength into it! Did you not eat?" I taunted with a playful smile.

Their expressions changed, and before they could speak, I slapped them hard across their faces. Both men flew through the air and spat out molars from their mouths.

"With such lousy skills, how dare you pretend to be bandits?" I snickered.

"I warn you, give back all the stolen money now, and I can spare your lives," I said coldly.

Getting up from the ground, they glared at me and shouted angrily, "Give back the money? We’ll kill all of you!"

The passengers’ faces changed dramatically at these words.

"This kid is such a bastard, do you want to get us killed?" someone yelled.

Another added, "This has nothing to do with us! It’s all his fault!"

"You son of a bitch, I’ll cripple you!" The passengers outside were filled with righteous indignation.

I looked at these people in surprise and helplessly shook my head. "They’re the ones who took your money, not me. Why are you scolding me?"

"Fuck you! If it weren’t for you, we’d only lose money at most!"

"It’s because of you, now we might even lose our lives!"

My face immediately darkened at their words.

"Fine, from now on, your lives have nothing to do with me," I said coldly.

"Go to hell, who needs you!" The crowd cursed in unison.

"That’s right, you don’t want to spend your own money, but you want to drag us down with you! What kind of person are you!"

The two bandits got up from the ground, grinning. "Even if we don’t do anything, they’ll tear you apart!"

My face remained cold. "Before that, I can slaughter you two first!"

"Oh, really?" They sneered and pulled out guns from their waists, aiming at me.

"What’s the use of being skilled? One shot and your head will be shattered!"

My eyebrows furrowed slightly as I considered the situation.

"I wonder if my body can withstand bullets," I thought, somewhat eager to test it. After a moment of contemplation, I shook my head. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Saintly Body Skill!" To be on the safe side, I activated my special technique.

In an instant, golden light enveloped my body, and my flesh shone with a faint golden color.

With the Saintly Body Skill’s protection, I felt confident that ordinary bullets would have a hard time harming me.

"Hehe, still playing with special effects in this situation?" The two bandits sneered.

I raised my eyebrows and challenged them. "Special effects? Try shooting and see if it’s special effects."
