Chapter 156: Chapter 156 - Dramatic Entrance

I lay in the taxi, feeling like every ounce of strength had drained from my body. Just moments ago, I’d used everything I had just to climb into this cab.

"It’s a pity I didn’t kill him," I muttered, a cold glint filling my eyes. For anyone who tried to harm me, I would show no mercy. If I did, they might return to threaten me again.

"Never expected the Saintly Body Skill would drain me this much," I thought to myself. "Must use it sparingly from now on."

The taxi finally pulled up at the hotel. Despite the journey, my strength hadn’t returned at all. With no other choice, I asked the driver to help carry me to the bed.

Lying there helpless, worry crept into my mind. "Don’t know if I can recover by tomorrow," I said grimly. The Traditional Medicine Conference was happening then. If my body didn’t bounce back in time, I’d be in serious trouble.

Meanwhile, Turner Keira returned home and fell into deep contemplation. He couldn’t figure out how an Inner Strength Master had managed to defeat him despite such a significant class difference.

Turner felt conflicted. He knew well that Mason had only won because of the Saintly Body Skill. If Turner had intended to kill before the skill was activated, Mason would have had no chance of victory. But what if he failed? If he couldn’t eliminate Mason, he’d face deadly consequences in the future.

After careful consideration, Turner decided the risk wasn’t worth taking. "What a shame," he murmured, playing with the Ganoderma in his hand. He’d only just acquired it, and now he had to return it.

Across town, Elder Drake had been brought to the Blake family residence. His face was gloomy, his heart heavy with sorrow.

"Mr. Tenny Blake, Mason... he won’t be in trouble, will he?" Elder Drake asked, looking anxiously at Blair Blake.

Blair opened his mouth but hesitated before speaking. His expression revealed his thoughts before he finally sighed. "An Inner Strength Master can’t possibly escape Turner Keira’s grasp..."

"Is there any way to save him?" Elder Drake asked desperately.

Blair shook his head. "Turner Keira is a long-established Grandmaster. Even the Blake family avoids provoking him."

Elder Drake felt a wave of heartache. He lay in bed, his weathered face filled with grief.

"Mr. Drake, rest early," Blair said with a nod before leaving the room.

Sleep was impossible for Elder Drake. He remained in bed, his heart consumed by sorrow.

Early the next morning, the Traditional Medicine Conference began. Blair prepared breakfast for Elder Drake, but the old man was too preoccupied to eat.

"Elder Drake, what’s wrong?" Blair asked casually.

Elder Drake suddenly put down his chopsticks and stood. "Mr. Tenny, can you take me to the Traditional Medicine Conference?"

Blair frowned. "The Traditional Medicine Conference?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Elder Drake nodded firmly. "It was originally Mr. Raymond’s to attend. Since Mr. Raymond has had an accident, I will take his place!"

After a moment of silence, Blair replied, "Alright, I’ll take you. Finish your meal first."

After breakfast, Blair personally drove Elder Drake to the conference site. By then, all contestants had already arrived, and Lucian River sat in the judge’s seat, radiating satisfaction.

Elder Drake entered the venue with heavy steps.

Someone spotted him and joked, "Yo, Elder Drake, where is Mason Raymond from River City? Why didn’t he come?"

Elder Drake ignored the comment and continued walking solemnly toward the conference area.

Soon, Lucian noticed Elder Drake’s solitary figure. Seeing him alone, Lucian’s smile widened considerably.

He stood and approached Elder Drake, his massive body blocking the old man’s path.

Elder Drake looked up at Lucian, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Old man Drake, where’s Mason Raymond? Why didn’t he come?" Lucian asked with feigned innocence.

Elder Drake stared darkly at Lucian and said, "Mr. Raymond has something to do, so I’m replacing him."

"He’s busy?" Lucian couldn’t contain his laughter. "Is he busy or already dead?" he sneered.

Hearing this, Elder Drake’s expression changed instantly! He glared fiercely at Lucian and shouted, "Was it you who did it?"

Lucian was delighted. So Mason Raymond was indeed dead! "Hahaha! Whether it is or isn’t, what can you do about it?" he taunted.

Elder Drake clenched his teeth and swung his aged fist at Lucian. "You heartless villain!" he shouted, enraged.

But the elderly Drake couldn’t harm Lucian, who easily caught his arm. "You dare to lay a hand on me?" Lucian said coldly. "Elder Drake, I hereby announce the cancellation of your qualification to participate!"

"Cancel it if you want; I’ll fight you!" Elder Drake swung desperately.

"You’re courting death!" Lucian grew furious and raised his hand to slap Elder Drake.

However, at that precise moment, I grabbed Lucian’s wrist firmly.

"Attacking an old man, Lucian," I said coldly, standing right beside him. "Are you even fit to be the president?"
