Chapter 150: Chapter 150 - Direct Admission

Facing everyone’s ridicule, Elder Drake didn’t show any embarrassment. He just politely stated, "It’s not me joining this time, it’s Mr. Raymond."

After speaking, Elder Drake looked at me standing beside him.

Seeing this, the old men couldn’t help but laugh.

"Elder Drake, has River City run out of people? They found a kid to participate."

"That’s right, alchemy is all about experience. What can a child do?"

Elder Drake looked a bit awkward but said nothing. Clearly, he had grown accustomed to the ridicule from everyone.

"Elder Drake, don’t worry about them. These old scallions are not worth mentioning," I smiled and comforted him.

Although my voice wasn’t loud, it reached everyone’s ears.

The old men were outraged and scolded, "Boy, we are your elders, is this how you talk to your elders?!"

I glanced at them and said indifferently, "Some people like to suppress others with their age. So if you’re older, you’re right? You can talk nonsense just because you’re older? If you’re virtuous, I’ll respect you, but if you’re not, sorry, you’re nothing to me."

A few words made these people red-faced and embarrassed.

"Little brat, from what you just said, it’s clear that you have no real skills!" Someone sneered.

I laughed coldly, "Old Thing, I give that remark right back to you."

"You!" A few people were furious, their faces turning ashen, but they had nothing to say.

"Don’t bother arguing with them," Elder Drake whispered to me.

Though he said that, it was clear that Elder Drake felt quite satisfied. He had been ridiculed by these people for many years, and now I could help him fight back. How could Elder Drake not be pleased?

Afterward, Elder Drake took me to a place to sit down and wait for the arrival of the Traditional Medicine Association.

I looked around and couldn’t help but frown. It was usually deserted here, but the decorations were extremely extravagant, which made me somewhat suspicious. Was the decline of traditional medicine really related to these people’s inaction?

"Now these people are just trying to make money. They only care about their own wallets, not anything else," Elder Drake seemed to see my doubts and said on the side.

I nodded slightly, and couldn’t help but sigh in my heart. The human heart is ancient indeed.

A group of people waited here for two hours, and the people from the Traditional Medicine Association still didn’t show up. I checked my watch and it was already four o’clock in the afternoon.

"Didn’t they say the registration time was at two o’clock? They’re already two hours late," I muttered.

Elder Drake said with a bitter smile, "You’ll get used to it, they’re very high and mighty."

As we were speaking, the door opened. Then we saw a young man coming in from the outside. He was full of alcohol, swaying as he walked, obviously drunk.

When they saw this young man, the old men quickly stood up and greeted him courteously, "Mr. Levy, you’ve arrived."

The young man, called Mr. Levy, ignored them. He swaggered to the sofa and sat down. Then he said with some impatience, "The forms are on the table. Take them and fill them out."

"Alright, Mr. Levy!" The old men quickly took the forms and started filling them out.

Seeing this, I couldn’t help but laugh coldly. This Mr. Levy was younger than me, yet these old men treated him with full respect, completely disregarding seniority. It was indeed quite a double standard.

"Let’s go, we should also get the forms," Elder Drake told me.

I nodded. I was originally intending to get the Hundred-year medicinal material anyway, so I didn’t bother with these people.

After picking up the form, I quickly filled in my relevant information and placed it on the table.

"Is this enough?" I asked Elder Drake.

Elder Drake nodded, "It’s fine, let’s go."

I gave a hum and turned around to leave.

Just as we reached the door, the door was opened. Then we saw Lucian River standing outside the door. Seeing Lucian River, I was taken aback.

And Lucian River stood there, looking at me and sneered, "What are you doing here?"

Before I could answer, Lucian River suddenly realized and said, "I know now, you’re here to participate in the Traditional Medicine Conference, right?"

"Chairman River, do you know Mason Raymond?" Elder Drake asked aside.

Lucian River sneered, "Know him? Not only do I know him, but we also have a substantial history."

My brow furrowed slightly, and I thought to myself that this was bad.

As expected, Lucian River walked to the table, picked up my application form and took a glance. Then, he tore the form to pieces and threw it on the ground.

"I’m sorry, you’re not qualified to participate in the Traditional Medicine Conference," Lucian River said lightly.

As soon as his words fell, Elder Drake immediately became anxious. He rushed forward and hurriedly said, "Chairman River, why is Mason not qualified to participate? I submitted his information before, and they were very satisfied with his qualifications..."

Lucian drank a sip of tea and casually said, "No reason, just because he’s offended me."

Such blatant reasoning surprised me.

Elder Drake’s face changed instantly, and he stood there, somewhat at a loss.

Lucian River walked up to me and sneered, "Mason Raymond, do you remember what I said to you? You will eventually beg me for something!"

After that, Lucian River leaned back with his hands crossed and said with a sense of pride, "Come on, beg me, I might be able to let you participate in the Traditional Medicine Conference."

"Beg you?" I raised my eyebrows, "Who do you think you are?"

Lucian’s face changed, he sneered, "You’re really stubborn! In that case, you can leave now. We don’t welcome you at our Traditional Medicine Conference!"

The old men nearby also shouted, "He deserves it! This kind of person shouldn’t be allowed to participate!"

"Get the hell out, you little bastard!"

Facing everyone’s curses, I remained silent.

Elder Drake on the side was extremely anxious, he rushed to Lucian River and said with a bit of pleading, "Chairm... Chairman River, Mason Raymond is still young, don’t mind him..."

"Hehe, as long as he’s willing to beg me, I can consider it, but he’s just not willing," Lucian River sneered.

Elder Drake was extremely anxious, he returned to my side and whispered, "When you’re under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head. Mason, why don’t you apologize to him..."

"Apologize to him? Why should I apologize to a piece of shit?" I sneered.

"You heard him?" Lucian River scoffed, "Get the hell out of here!"

I snorted, turned around, and prepared to leave.

Just then, my phone suddenly rang. I picked up the phone and saw that the caller was Ryker Steele.

I answered the call and said, "Mr. Steele, what’s up?"

On the other end, Ryker spoke excitedly, "Mr. Raymond, do you remember what the Deputy Chief said last time? She said she could give you a spot in the finals, and now the spot has come through. Where are you? I can bring it to you!"

Hearing this, I couldn’t help but reveal a smile. I told Ryker the address, then hung up the phone.

Lucian River looked at me coldly and said, "What? Changed your mind?"

I shook my head and smiled faintly, "I’m sorry, I don’t need to beg you. Because I have been admitted."
