Chapter 147: Chapter 147 - Righteous Slap
Seeing Doctor Lucian River’s attitude, my anger erupted like a volcano.
Meanwhile, the peasant woman beside us dared not offend either of us and could only stare at the child in her arms, silently weeping as tears streamed down her face.
My expression turned cold as ice. I stepped forward, positioning myself directly in front of the man with the gold chain. Then I looked at Doctor Lucian and gave him a half-smile. "Doctor Lucian, I have something better here. Would you mind letting me go first?"
"Who the fuck are you? Don’t you know how to wait in line?" The gold-chain man exploded with rage.
I gave him a quick glance and sneered, "Did you wait in line?"
"I don’t give a damn about that. Just get lost!" He reached out to grab my shoulder, trying to shove me aside.
Despite his efforts, he couldn’t budge me even an inch!
"Fine, fine, just wait and see!" The gold-chain man jabbed his finger toward my nose and cursed.
"Dare to mess with me in River City, I’ll fucking kill you!" He stalked off to the side and pulled out his phone to make a call.
I couldn’t be bothered with him. Instead, I turned to Doctor Lucian with a mocking smile. "Doctor Lucian, may I?"
Doctor Lucian smiled faintly. "Of course, but first you must show me what treasures you possess. If they’re truly attractive enough, I’ll naturally treat you first."
I nodded, and with a flick of my wrist, I said, "It’s this."
Lucian frowned slightly, looking confused. "What do you mean? There’s obviously nothing in your hand."
"Nothing? It’s right here in my hand! Can’t you see it?" I asked with a smirk.
Lucian’s brows furrowed deeper, his displeasure evident. "There’s clearly nothing there. Are you mocking me?"
I shook my hand and sneered, "Isn’t this it?"
With that, I slapped Lucian hard across the face!
With a loud smack, Lucian flew off his chair!
"Take a big slap in the face, do you want it?" I sneered.
Lucian immediately jumped up in fury, pointed at my nose, and cursed, "How dare you fucking hit me? Have you lost your mind?"
The onlookers whispered among themselves, "Daring to hit Doctor Lucian, what’s this young man’s background?"
"Yeah, if we offend Doctor Lucian, will he still treat us?"
"This young man is too impulsive."
Hearing these comments around me, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of grief wash over me. These people only cared about their immediate interests. If the persecution didn’t happen to them directly, they wouldn’t speak out against it.
And precisely for this reason, oppressors like Lucian could act with impunity.
I stared coldly at Doctor Lucian. "You call yourself the Medicine God? Where’s your healer’s conscience?"
"The child in this woman’s arms has a high fever, and you just watch her die. That gold-chain man only lacks time, yet you’re willing to treat him. Can you even call yourself a doctor?"
"A person like you claiming to be the Medicine God is truly laughable!"
My words left Lucian’s face flushed red, his ears burning with embarrassment.
But he didn’t take my criticism to heart, instead pointing at me and saying, "This is society’s rule, do you understand? No money and you still want things done?"
"Only weak people obey bad rules," I replied coldly.
"Hahahaha!" Lucian burst into laughter.
"You hit me. Have you thought about the consequences?" Lucian asked loudly.
I sneered, "If you killed a maggot, would you consider the consequences?"
Lucian’s expression suddenly changed, and he pointed at me, cursing, "You dare call me a maggot? Do you know my identity? Do you know how many high-ranking officials owe me favors?"
"Not my damn business," I sneered.
Lucian’s face darkened like storm clouds. At this moment, he suddenly looked toward the door and with a hint of surprise said, "Kid, your retribution has arrived!"
Turning my head to look, I saw a group of tattooed burly men charging through the door!
These muscular men looked fierce and enraged!
"Kid, you dare cut in my line and hit Doctor Lucian? I’ll cripple you today!" The gold-chain man boasted arrogantly.
I didn’t even consider such a minor character worth raising my hand against.
I took out my phone and immediately called Woods Walters.
"Come to the Traditional Medicine Hospital and bring people with you," My instructions were brief and decisive. After speaking, I hung up without waiting for a response.
On the other end, Woods couldn’t figure out what was happening, but I was his golden goose, so he dared not go against my wishes.
After considering for a moment, Woods said to Kenneth, "Get all the brothers together and head to the Traditional Medicine Hospital now!"
"Yes, Woods," Kenneth nodded.
Inside the hospital, the gold-chain man pointed at me and cursed, "Kid, it’s not too late for you to apologize now!"
I glanced at him and said, "You’re just a minor character, not worthy of my attention. Wait, someone will come to negotiate with you."
"Go fuck yourself! Who are you trying to scare? You’re the minor character here!" The gold-chain man spat.
Not far away, Lucian sat down and started sipping his tea, looking like he was enjoying a show.
"Big brother, thank you for your kindness, but... you better leave. Don’t let anything happen because of me..." The peasant woman beside me said anxiously.
I smiled and reassured her, "Sister, don’t worry. I won’t be in any trouble."
After speaking, I glanced at the girl in her arms and said, "I’ll help treat your daughter’s illness."
"Heh, you really know how to brag," Lucian couldn’t help but sneer. "Who do you think you are, treating people’s illnesses?"
I glanced at him and said, "No matter who I am, I’m far better than a villain like you."
"Doctor Lucian, I’ll take care of this!" The gold-chain man shouted, clearly trying to score points.
Lucian nodded slightly and said flatly, "As long as you take care of this kid for me, I’ll treat you three times for free."
"Really? Thank you, Doctor Lucian!" The gold-chain man was overjoyed!
"Boom."
Just then, a rumbling sound of engines came from outside the door!
Looking out, I saw countless cars driving toward the hospital!
These vehicles blocked the entrance of the Traditional Medicine Hospital, and then one muscular man after another leaped out of the cars!
Seeing this scene, everyone turned pale with fear!
And the gold-chain man stood stunned, muttering, "Why is Woods here?"
"Woods, why are you here?" Though confused, he quickly approached with a cigarette in hand.
Woods didn’t even glance at him but rushed straight to me.
He wiped sweat from his forehead and said respectfully, "Mr. Raymond, what can I do for you..."
