Chapter 132: Chapter 132 - Poisoned Gift
A look of surprise and delight crossed Blaze Colton’s face upon hearing Apollo Leah’s words.
Apollo Leah was quite well-known throughout South City.
Yet hardly anyone was aware he’d been thrashed by Mason Raymond.
"Mr. Leah, are you certain about this? Mason Raymond isn’t someone easily dealt with," Bernard Colton quickly asked before Blaze could respond.
Apollo Leah gave a light snort. "In my view, Mason Raymond is thoroughly mediocre! Not even worth mentioning!"
"Absolutely, absolutely. Mr. Leah has maintained his success and reputation for years; handling Mason Raymond should be effortless for you," Blaze Colton replied with a smile.
"Mr. Colton, if you place your trust in me," Apollo Leah said with a faint smile, "give me just two days, and I’ll bring you Mason Raymond’s head!"
"Do you mean it?" Blaze Colton asked eagerly, his expression excited.
Apollo Leah nodded firmly. "I stand by my word! However, once the job is completed, I want 10% of the Colton Family’s shares. Acceptable?"
"No problem!" Blaze Colton agreed without hesitation.
"Excellent. See you in two days." Apollo Leah rose and swaggered out the door.
After Apollo Leah departed, Bernard Colton couldn’t suppress a sneer. "With Mr. Leah’s assistance, Mason Raymond will certainly die!"
"Indeed, throughout these years, nobody except Zachary Ortega has defeated Apollo Leah; dealing with Mason Raymond will be simple," Blaze Colton said with repeated sneers.
...
Victor Green drove for quite some time before finally stopping at Violet Damon’s home.
I observed that Violet’s residence was located in an upscale neighborhood in South City. Though not a standalone villa, each household enjoyed enormous living spaces, with the smallest units exceeding 300 square meters.
"This is Violet Damon’s home," Valerie Stanley pointed outside and informed me.
I nodded, parked the car, carefully lifted Violet Damon, and walked into the residential community.
Upon reaching Violet Damon’s doorstep, I knocked firmly. Shortly after, Violet’s father, Grayson Damon, opened the door and stepped out.
The moment Grayson Damon saw me, his face changed instantly.
When he noticed his daughter in my arms, his face turned even redder!
"Mason Raymond, you dare touch my daughter! I will never let you off!" Grayson Damon bared his teeth and leaped toward me.
Before he could reach me, Victor Green kicked him down to the ground.
"Are you insane?" Victor Green asked coldly.
Grayson Damon struggled to his feet, pointing at me and cursing, "You good-for-nothing trash! You dare touch my daughter! You beast!"
I coldly responded, "Violet drank too much; I’m just taking her home."
"You got my daughter drunk? She’s only a teenager, and you let her drink so much? What are you planning?" Grayson Damon persisted stubbornly.
Valerie Stanley hurriedly explained, "Uncle, it’s not Mason’s fault. If not for him, Violet could have been in danger tonight. You should thank him."
"Bah! Are you all conspiring to deceive me?" Grayson Damon snorted coldly.
I couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
As expected, Grayson Damon resembled his sister, Maeve Lucas. They shared the same approach to situations and manner of speaking.
"Believe it or not, it’s none of my concern," I said, placing Violet on the ground before turning to leave.
Grayson Damon cursed from behind, "You wait! If anything happens to my daughter, I won’t spare you, you useless trash!"
I remained silent and walked away from there.
After going downstairs, Valerie Stanley couldn’t help saying, "Why is Violet’s father so unreasonable? He doesn’t listen to reason."
"Birds of a feather flock together," I snorted in response.
Valerie Stanley stuck her tongue out but said nothing more.
Afterward, I dropped Valerie Stanley at school and returned to the hotel.
The next day.
After waking up, I went out to the balcony.
I sat there, inevitably thinking about the upcoming Traditional Medicine Conference.
"Less than a week remains before the Traditional Medicine Conference. I need to start preparing," I thought to myself.
According to Elder Drake, if I won first prize at the Traditional Medicine Conference, I would receive a hundred-year medicinal material.
This opportunity was one I couldn’t afford to miss.
I sat cross-legged on the balcony, muttering quietly, "According to the passed-down records, the Foundation Establishment Stage may give birth to spiritual fire, which greatly assists in refining medicine."
With this thought, I closed my eyes slightly.
I concentrated my spiritual power into my palm and attempted to feel the spiritual fire using methods recorded in my memory.
Soon, I felt a trace of warmth in my palms.
The heat intensified, and the scorching sensation became difficult to bear.
"Whoosh!"
At this point, a small flame ignited from my hand out of thin air!
I quickly opened my eyes, seeing the light blue flame that appeared somewhat weak in the sunlight.
"It’s so easy to create spiritual fire," I couldn’t help but grumble.
If anyone else had heard this, they would surely vomit blood in anger.
Too many top-ranking Refining Masters had tried tirelessly throughout their lives yet failed to succeed.
Then, I flicked my finger, and a wisp of spiritual fire floated out of my hand.
The flame fell to the ground, burning persistently.
Just a small spark burned for over half an hour.
When the flame disappeared, a black hole appeared on the ground.
"The spiritual fire truly lives up to its reputation. Using it to refine medicine will definitely double the results," I thought to myself.
That being said, controlling the heat was challenging.
If not properly controlled, the raging flame could directly turn herbs into ashes.
I stood up from the balcony, and at that moment, someone knocked at the door.
As I opened it, I found Apollo Leah standing there.
"What are you doing here?" I had no good feelings toward Apollo Leah, and an unconscious look of disgust flashed across my face.
Apollo Leah quickly bowed and said, "Mr. Raymond, I came to apologize to you."
"Apologize?" This somewhat surprised me.
"Yes, I didn’t realize your strength before, and I hope you don’t blame me for my rudeness," Apollo Leah said very respectfully.
Victor Green sneered, "Apollo Leah, did the Clive family kick you out, and now you’re desperate?"
Apollo Leah glanced at Victor Green and smiled, "My friend, you are mistaken. With my abilities, any aristocratic family would eagerly invite me."
Although this was true, Apollo Leah tended to boast, but at least being at the peak of the Inner Strength Masters’ realm meant he wouldn’t starve without the Clive family’s support.
"Mr. Raymond, to express my apologies, I have prepared a gift for you," Apollo Leah continued.
He then took out a green, glowing pill from his pocket.
The pill looked crystal clear and was enveloped in a faint herbal fragrance.
"This is a medicinal material I’ve treasured for many years. I hope it will earn your forgiveness," Apollo Leah said politely.
As the saying goes, never hit a smiling face.
With Apollo Leah’s attitude so humble, I couldn’t continue being cold.
"There’s no need for that, come in and have a seat," I said.
Seeing this, a cunning smile flashed across Apollo Leah’s face.
"Thank you, Mr. Raymond," Apollo Leah bowed slightly, then strode inside.
