Chapter 129: Chapter 129 - Drinking Showdown

My phone buzzed. It was Valerie Stanley, her voice filled with worry.

"Violet Damon just finished hanging out with her classmates and has now been brought to a bar. I’m afraid she might get into trouble. Can you come with us?"

I glanced at the time instinctively; already 10 p.m.

"Going to a bar this late instead of returning to school? Doesn’t she know it’s dangerous?" I couldn’t help the blame creeping into my voice.

"Ah, they insisted on dragging us here, and we couldn’t refuse," Valerie replied, sounding genuinely upset.

"Please come with us, I’m begging you," she added, her voice soft and pleading through the phone.

Despite not having the best impression of the Lucas family, Violet was too young. I couldn’t just ignore her potential trouble.

"Give me the location. I’ll be there shortly," I told her.

I could practically hear Valerie’s smile through the phone. "We’re at Midnight KTV, private room 888."

"Got it," I agreed and ended the call.

I turned to Victor Green. "Let’s go to Midnight KTV."

"What, Mr. Raymond wants to play dirty tonight?" Victor joked.

I kicked him in the leg and rolled my eyes. "I have no interest in that. Let’s go."

The engine roared as we sped down the street. We arrived at Midnight KTV’s entrance quickly.

After heading upstairs, I discovered Room 888 was the Emperor’s Suite, a spot frequently visited by the wealthy and powerful.

The entire eighth floor stood apart from others. The rooms were enormous, all reserved for VIPs.

Victor and I walked to Room 888. Pushing open the door, I saw young men and women dancing wildly inside.

"Mason!" Valerie spotted me and ran over immediately.

Violet, sitting and drinking, grumbled, "Why did you call him? So annoying."

Valerie giggled and said, "Oh, come on! He’s your brother-in-law. Besides, it’s not safe being out this late."

Violet was drinking with a guy sporting dyed yellow hair and flashy designer clothes – obviously a spoiled rich kid.

I looked him over briefly before approaching Violet. "It’s getting late. Time to go to bed."

I tried pulling Violet away, but she was clearly drunk. "Let me go, I’m not leaving!" she slurred.

I frowned at her behavior. "What’s the matter with you, girl? Not going home in the middle of the night! What are you doing!?"

"It’s none of your business! I’m not going!" Violet struggled against my grip.

The yellow-haired youth stood up and confronted me. "Dude, who are you? Can’t you see she doesn’t want to leave?"

I gave him a brief glance. "I’m her brother-in-law."

"You divorced my sister, so you’re not my brother-in-law anymore!" Violet shouted, her voice hazy from alcohol.

Yellow Hair laughed and said smugly, "Dude, you heard her, right? Violet said you’re not her brother-in-law anymore. Got it?"

I scratched my head in frustration, not wanting to waste time on these kids.

Turning back to Violet, I asked, "I’m asking you one last time, are you leaving or not?"

"I’m not leaving!" Violet shouted without hesitation.

I nodded. "Fine, stay if you want. I won’t bother with you."

I turned to leave, but Valerie quickly grabbed my arm. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Don’t go, please," she whispered. "If you leave, who knows what will happen to us tonight..."

"I did the best I could by coming here. She doesn’t want to leave. What does that have to do with me?" I replied coldly.

Valerie clung to my arm desperately. "She’s just drunk. Don’t hold it against her. And besides... if you leave, we’re really done for..."

I surveyed the room carefully. The large private room held seven or eight men, but only two women – Violet and Valerie.

If I left now, the consequences could be serious.

After contemplating for a moment, I checked the time. "Alright, I’ll wait for you guys for a while."

"Thank you, thank you!" Valerie exclaimed excitedly.

Victor and I found seats and sat down. The room’s noisy atmosphere irritated me tremendously.

Our calm demeanor contrasted sharply with the young people dancing frantically inside.

Yellow Hair watched me from across the room, clearly unhappy about my presence.

"Damn it, what are they doing here, ruining my plans," Yellow Hair muttered coldly.

Yellow Hair was obviously a spoiled, second-generation rich kid who frequently caused trouble and preyed on young women.

He had lured Violet and Valerie out tonight with clear intentions of getting them into bed.

If Violet and Valerie got drunk enough, the guys planned to drag them to a hotel.

"Bro, do you want to teach them a lesson?" A blue-haired man whispered into Yellow Hair’s ear.

Yellow Hair frowned. "How? We can’t just go beat them up."

"Bro, did you forget my nickname – Wine God? Just get them both drunk, and we’re good to go." The blue-haired guy grinned mischievously.

Yellow Hair looked at him and patted his shoulder. "Alright, if you can get them both wasted, you can have the girls first."

"No problem, leave it to me!" Blue Hair said confidently, thumping his chest.

I kept watching Violet carefully. She was being forced to drink one glass after another by several men, growing hazier but still accepting drinks.

"Stop drinking!" I said firmly, walking over and snatching the glass from her hand.

Blue Hair seemed secretly pleased by this.

"You walked right into my trap. Don’t blame me," Blue Hair thought to himself.

He sat down beside me with a fake smile. "We came here to drink and have fun. Violet herself didn’t say she didn’t want to drink. What’s up with you? Why don’t you drink for her?"

"Exactly, either you drink for her or shut up!" Yellow Hair added.

Victor frowned and was about to stand up when I motioned for him to stay put.

Looking at Yellow Hair and Blue Hair, I smirked. "I can drink with you, but however much I drink, you have to match it. Dare you?"

Blue Hair’s face lit up with delight. This was exactly what he wanted.

Without hesitation, he agreed, "Of course, it’s a deal! We’ll drink one-on-one! If you can’t outdrink me, you leave immediately. Deal?"

"What if you can’t outdrink me?" I challenged.

Blue Hair chuckled confidently. "If I can’t outdrink you, I’ll crawl on the floor and bark like a dog!"
