Chapter 107: Chapter 107 - Vultures Circle
The car slowly drove away. I just watched as the Sean family’s vehicle disappeared from sight.
Meanwhile, in the car, Mabel Sean shed a single tear.
I stood there for a long time, my fists clenched tightly, refusing to let my tears fall.
"I will definitely make it to Capital City soon," I couldn’t help but shout to the sky.
People around me stared as if watching a madman.
I returned to the hotel, packed my things, and quickly left South City, heading towards River City.
With three plants in hand, I needed to quickly enhance my strength and enter the Foundation Establishment Stage.
Throughout the journey, I felt an overwhelming and unresolved heaviness.
As soon as I closed my eyes, I would see the image of Mabel Sean.
"Mabel, wait for me," I murmured softly.
That same day, the news of Mabel Sean’s departure swept across River City.
Countless people secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Mabel Sean had been like a massive mountain, pressing down on everyone’s hearts.
During this time, everyone had been restraining their actions, terrified of accidentally provoking this powerful figure.
"Mabel Sean has finally left."
"Damn, these past days have really been full of caution."
"With Mabel Sean gone, doesn’t that mean Mason Raymond has lost his backing?"
"Hm, without Mabel Sean as a shield, who knows how long Mason Raymond can survive."
At night, I returned to River City.
At home, Victor Green had been waiting for me for quite some time.
"Mr. Raymond," Victor Green had prepared a cup of tea for me.
I took a sip of the tea, then looked at Victor Green and said, "I need you to do me a favor for the next few days."
"Please tell me, Mr. Raymond." Victor Green quickly nodded.
I took a deep breath and said, "I need you to be my guardian, for at least three days."
"Guardian?" Victor Green was taken aback.
I nodded and said, "I’m going into seclusion; I can’t let anyone disturb me."
"Victor, you’re the only one I trust now," I said seriously.
Victor Green was both surprised and honored, quickly responding, "Please rest assured, Mr. Raymond, I will do everything in my power!"
I nodded and waved my hand, saying, "Let’s rest for tonight."
Returning to my room, I lay down on the bed but still couldn’t sleep.
As soon as I closed my eyes, the gentle face of Mabel Sean appeared before me.
Her words echoed continuously in my mind.
I sat up from the bed.
I took a deep breath, sat cross-legged, and forced myself to calm down.
I knew that for cultivation, one’s state of mind was more critical.
Throughout the entire night, I felt as if my mindset had subtly changed.
I didn’t know if it was because of Mabel Sean’s words, but I felt as though my heart had become slightly more resilient.
The next morning.
I emerged from my room.
My face showed no emotion, yet a trace of coldness clung to me.
"Mr. Raymond." Victor Green had prepared tea for me early on.
I nodded and said, "Make a call and have Woods Walters come see me."
"Yes, Mr. Raymond." Victor Green quickly nodded.
Half an hour later.
Woods Walters arrived at Dragon Rising Community with Kenneth.
In the living room, Victor Green served tea while Woods Walters was filled with uncertainty.
I said nothing and just quietly watched Woods Walters.
"Woods Walters, how are the recent revenues?" I asked.
Woods Walters quickly replied, "Mr. Raymond, our market share is steadily increasing. I’ve already set up a factory for the mass production of Soul Nourishment Pills."
I squinted and said, "With Miss Sean gone, it’s likely that many people will target me, perhaps even wanting to eliminate me."
"Woods Walters, do you have any such intentions?" I squinted my eyes, coldly watching Woods Walters.
Woods Walters’ expression immediately shifted, and he hastily shook his head, saying, "Mr. Raymond, I absolutely do not! Without you, I would still be just a hoodlum, destined to be eliminated sooner or later..."
I coldly watched Woods Walters, and once I was sure he had no intention of betrayal, I continued to ask, "Good, I won’t let you guys down."
"Thank you, Mr. Raymond!" Woods Walters quickly nodded.
Then, I stood up, glanced at Kenneth, and said, "I promised to teach you breath control; come find me in a week."
Kenneth bowed and said, "Thank you, Mr. Raymond."
I wouldn’t fully trust Woods Walters, so I needed to win over the people around Kenneth.
After Woods Walters left Dragon Rising Community, he wiped sweat from his forehead.
"Damn, that gave me a scare," Woods Walters muttered.
Kenneth frowned and said, "Woods, do you really have any other thoughts?"
"Nonsense!" Woods Walters scolded loudly.
"Do you think I’m as foolish as those people? Since Miss Sean sees something in Mr. Raymond, then Mr. Raymond definitely has extraordinary qualities!"
"I believe it won’t be long before Mr. Raymond achieves great things!"
After Woods Walters left, I took Victor Green and left Dragon Rising Community.
"Mr. Raymond, where are we going?" Victor Green asked.
I replied, "To find a quiet place."
This quiet place referred to the Riverside Villa where Xavier Hill once resided.
The environment there was tranquil, uninhabited, and rich in spiritual energy, making it just what I needed.
After the downfall of the Hill family, Carter Hill’s relatives had taken over these assets, and they were currently auctioning them online.
I and Victor Green soon arrived at Riverside Villa.
Victor Green stepped forward and knocked on the door.
Soon, a man came out and opened the door.
"Who are you looking for?" the man asked.
Victor Green quickly said, "We heard this place is up for sale, and we’re interested in buying it."
The man glanced at me and nodded, "Come in."
We all walked into Riverside Villa, and as we entered, we saw four or five people sitting inside.
"Oh, Mason Raymond." Upon seeing me, a young man in the room stood up.
I glanced at him and said, "I don’t think I know you."
"It’s okay if you don’t know me, but I know you," he sneered.
"I’m Marco Lyons from the Lyons family in River City!" Marco Lyons said with some arrogance.
I furrowed my brow and said, "Lyons family? Never heard of it."
Marco Lyons’ expression changed in anger and he said, "You! Fine, it’s okay if you don’t know me, but you know Nola O’Connor, right?"
"Oh, that bossy little girl." I nodded.
Marco Lyons coldly said, "Because of you, Nola O’Connor almost got sent to the coal mines! Before, because of the Sean family’s influence, I didn’t dare touch you. Now that Mabel Sean is gone, let’s see what you do!"
I couldn’t help but laugh coldly, "What are you trying to say?"
Marco Lyons snorted, "I’m giving you a chance. Either you kneel down and let me take a video, or I’ll beat you until you kneel. You decide."
I scratched my head and said, "As soon as Miss Sean leaves, you nameless nobodies dare to clamor?"
