Chapter 103: Chapter 103 - Fame Collision
I nervously watched Mabel Sean, stuttering without managing to say a single word.
Mabel suddenly lay down on the bed, then closed her eyes, assuming a posture that left herself completely at my disposal.
I looked at Mabel lying there, my heart pounding more intensely with each passing second.
Mabel kept her eyes shut, not saying a word.
I sat there for what felt like an eternity. Taking a deep breath, I finally spoke: "Miss Sean, you should rest early. I’m going back to my room."
This seemed to surprise Mabel. She sat up from the bed, looked at me and said: "You... really don’t want to do anything?"
"I do," I nodded without hesitation.
"But I am not worthy of you right now. You’ve helped me tremendously already. I hope that in the future, I can help and protect you," I said earnestly.
My gaze and tone carried unmistakable determination, leaving no room for doubt.
Mabel appeared very satisfied with my response. She nodded and chuckled: "Go back and sleep."
I quickly turned and retreated to my room, took a cold shower, and finally managed to calm myself down.
"Phew, that was close. I nearly lost control," I exhaled deeply.
Afterward, I took out the jade pendant from my pocket, preparing to craft a protective amulet for Mabel.
I closed my eyes, feeling the heritage knowledge flowing through my mind.
Soon, I discovered a protective cultivation skill called "Form One Dharma Decree" within the heritage.
This protective skill had powerful effects—it could ward off disasters, rejuvenate beauty, and even save lives in critical moments.
When faced with life-threatening danger, the protective amulet would activate automatically.
The only drawback was its single-use nature. Once activated, the amulet would shatter completely.
"It’s you," I thought to myself.
The Form One Dharma Decree required tremendous effort from my current abilities. I spent the entire night and sacrificed fifteen drops of blood essence, yet still couldn’t successfully complete it—only managing to refine a semi-finished product.
"Looks like I’ll have to work on this for another night," I said weakly.
As dawn approached, I quickly washed up and left my room.
Mabel had already finished packing. When she saw me, she blinked and said, "There’s an amusement park nearby. Shall we go have some fun?"
"Alright." Although I felt exhausted, I didn’t want to disappoint her, so I agreed.
After breakfast, we headed toward the amusement park.
——
Meanwhile, after Bernard Colton returned home, he immediately instructed his men to investigate Mabel Sean’s background.
"Younger Lord of Colton Family, that girl is Miss Sean of the Sean Family from the Capital City—Mabel Sean," his subordinate reported.
"What?!" Bernard jolted upright upon hearing this.
His face turned grave, a chill creeping up his spine.
"That was close. I almost brought disaster upon the entire Colton Family..." Bernard was overwhelmed with fear.
The incident with the Hill family remained fresh in his memory—this felt like walking straight into a gunfight.
"But... that Mason Raymond doesn’t seem capable of anything," his subordinate continued.
Bernard gave him a glance, motioning him to continue.
"According to our investigation, Mason Raymond is from River City. For some unknown reason, he has gained Miss Sean’s favor."
Hearing this, Bernard said impatiently: "Isn’t that just stating the obvious! With Miss Sean backing him, who would dare provoke him!"
"Younger Lord of Colton Family, I heard Miss Sean is about to return to the Capital City. By then, we might have an opportunity," his man continued. "Moreover... the Taylors may not necessarily think highly of this Mason Raymond."
Bernard’s eyes lit up. He couldn’t help but recall Roberts Joshua’s words from the previous night. From Roberts’s tone, it was clear the Sean Family didn’t think highly of Mason Raymond.
"There seems to be a chance then." Bernard squinted, contemplating silently.
He snorted softly before saying, "Once Miss Sean leaves for the Capital City, I’m going to personally talk to this Mason Raymond."
"Yes, Young Master," his subordinate nodded.
"Also, today one of our artists is taking pictures at the amusement park. Should we check it out?" the subordinate continued.
Bernard thought for a moment, then nodded. "Hmm, I also planned to go out and clear my mind. Prepare the car."
——
The amusement park was the largest in South City.
As a coastal city, it naturally attracted numerous tourists each year.
As soon as we entered the park, Mabel transformed into a tender little princess, radiating joy and happiness.
Observing from a distance, Roberts Joshua couldn’t help but sigh, "It’s hard to believe that the young miss in front of me is the same person as the CEO from the Capital City..."
"Yeah, I’ve never seen Miss Sean smile so happily before," others around him echoed.
Mabel and I played almost every attraction in the amusement park—the pendulum, roller coaster, haunted house, and more.
This warm, happy feeling made us both reluctant to leave.
"Shall we take photos on the Ferris Wheel?" Mabel suddenly suggested.
"Sure, I’ve never been on a Ferris Wheel before!" I laughed.
Then, Mabel grabbed my hand, and we ran toward the Ferris Wheel.
Just after buying tickets, seven or eight bodyguards suddenly rushed over.
"Move aside, we’re claiming this place!" the leading bodyguard commanded arrogantly.
In their midst stood a dazzlingly dressed girl wearing sunglasses with her face partially covered by a veil.
And accompanying her was none other than Rowan!
"Them again..." I frowned.
"Is that Mira Samuel?" someone beside us whispered.
Rowan said indifferently, "Correct, it’s Miss Samuel. She’s here to scout locations. Please cooperate."
"It’s superstar Mira Samuel!"
"Wow, Mira Samuel is here! Miss Samuel, I’m a fan! Can I take a picture with you?"
"Miss Samuel, I love you!"
The crowd erupted in excitement. Some tried moving forward for photos but were pushed back by bodyguards.
"Stay away from Miss Samuel! No photos, got that?" Rowan pointed at people around him and scolded.
"I told you not to take photos, didn’t you hear me?" Seeing someone holding a cell phone, Rowan stepped forward and smashed the fan’s phone onto the ground!
The celebrity called Mira Samuel frowned and scoffed, "Such uncouth people, so annoying!"
"Turns out she’s a celebrity. No wonder she’s so arrogant," I muttered, frowning.
Mabel also snorted, "These little celebrities these days become so arrogant with just a bit of fame. Thinking they’re superior—it’s indeed annoying."
"All of you, move! Did you hear me?" The bodyguards forcefully dispersed the crowd, shouting impatiently.
Soon, they arrived in front of us.
Rowan’s eyebrows furrowed before he sneered, "You two again? What a coincidence."
"Quite a coincidence indeed," I responded coldly.
This time, Rowan ignored us and went to Mira Samuel, whispering a few words.
After listening, Mira didn’t say anything and walked straight toward us.
She said with an annoyed expression, "You must be fans, right? Trying to get attention like this? It’s so annoying. Do you know this kind of star-chasing is disgusting?"
Hearing this, both Mabel and I felt somewhat baffled.
"You think too highly of yourself. As a D-list celebrity, I haven’t even heard of you," Mabel responded with a roll of her eyes.
