Chapter 101: Chapter 101 - Timely Intervention
The old servant stepped closer to me, shrinking the distance between us with every step.
I maintained a calm and composed demeanor, my exterior as serene as a quiet sky, but deep inside, I felt an intense surge of fighting spirit.
Ever since witnessing Roberts Joshua’s abilities, I found myself fascinated by these so-called martial arts masters.
The old servant looked at me coldly and said in a low voice, "Kid, today, you’re dead for sure!"
With that declaration, he suddenly unleashed a terrifying pressure! The sheer weight of it left me stunned. It felt as if two mountains had instantly fallen upon my shoulders.
"Hahaha!" The old servant laughed triumphantly.
"This is the power of Inner Strength," he said, stepping forward suddenly, his hand forming into a claw as he viciously struck toward my chest!
I quickly dodged to the side, the claw narrowly missing its mark and grazing my chest, tearing a long rip in my clothes.
"So fast!" I couldn’t help but exclaim.
This old man’s strength was probably far greater than I had imagined.
"Bang!" At that moment, the old servant’s second hand shot out!
His aged fist clenched tight, crashing straight into my chest!
"Thump, thump, thump!"
I staggered back repeatedly, nearly falling to the ground!
"So strong!" I exclaimed in astonishment.
It seemed these martial arts masters were indeed no ordinary fighters.
"Why aren’t you fighting back? Is this all you’ve got?" The old servant clasped his hands behind his back and said nonchalantly.
I clenched my fists tightly, adjusting my aura to its absolute peak. With a sharp "whoosh," I launched myself at the old servant!
"Die!" I roared, my fist suddenly emitting a faint white mist!
The old servant remained unfazed and casually prepared to meet my punch.
In the blink of an eye, we exchanged over a dozen blows, yet I couldn’t even land a single hit!
This old man’s skill surpasses all expectations, I thought, my expression growing solemn.
The reputation of the Colton Family of South City was well-earned.
In the car, Mabel Sean munched on snacks while watching the scene unfold through the window.
Although she held a prestigious status, she had no understanding of martial arts and couldn’t tell who was stronger or weaker.
"Mason, you got this!" Mabel shouted, reaching her hand out through the window.
I immediately turned toward Mabel’s direction, taking a deep breath before coldly glaring at the old man. "Come again!" I said.
With that, I launched into my second round of attacks!
My fists came flying in quick succession, dense and relentless, like a torrential downpour!
Yet, the old servant’s movements were extraordinarily agile, dodging every single one of my punches effortlessly.
"Boom!"
Taking advantage of my momentary opening in my offensive, the old servant swung his large hand and grabbed my arm!
"I’ll cripple your arm first, and then I’ll take my time torturing you," the old servant said, a sinister glint flashing in his eyes.
Soon, I felt a tremendous force surging into my arm!
Not good! I thought, alarmed. I clenched my other fist and used all the strength I had to punch the old servant fiercely!
The old servant’s expression changed, and he quickly loosened his grip on me, retreating several steps!
His deeply wrinkled face slowly took on an icy expression.
"Kid, it seems I underestimated you after all," the old servant sneered.
"Stop playing around. End this quickly; don’t let anything interfere!" From a distance, Bernard Colton ordered coldly.
The old servant nodded and said, "Yes, young master."
No sooner had he spoken than the old servant’s aura climbed again!
A more terrifying pressure erupted, seemingly intent on crushing every bone in my body!
"Kid, our young master has decreed that you must die," the old servant said coldly.
"In your next life, pick better parents," he added.
With that, the old servant’s figure vanished instantly, reappearing in front of me in a blink!
His fist glowed faintly as it shot toward me!
At such an unavoidably close distance, there was no way to dodge!
With no other option, I clenched my fist and faced the punch head-on.
"Boom!"
The collision of fists emitted a thunderous explosion!
I staggered back seven or eight steps before regaining my footing!
Even so, I felt as if my arm might break under the impact!
Damn it... I gritted my teeth, my face showing a hint of frustration.
If I had reached the Foundation Establishment Stage, killing this old man would be as easy as slicing through butter! I thought to myself.
"With just this level of skill, you dare act so arrogant? You’re nothing but trash," the old servant said, once again closing in on me.
I shook my hand and sneered, "Trash? You’re just a half-dead old geezer, barely scraping by, while I’ve been on this path for less than a month. Between us, who’s really the trash?"
The old man’s face darkened at my words!
"You’re courting death!" The old servant suddenly roared, reaching out to grab me by the neck!
Like he was lifting a chicken, the old servant hoisted me into the air!
My face turned red, my breath becoming labored as my aura felt suppressed to the point of suffocation!
"Ignorant fool, I’ll snap your neck right now!" The old servant barked, tightening his grip on my neck.
I felt waves of sharp pain in my throat, as though it might actually break!
"Let him go."
Suddenly, a voice rang out from the shadows!
Turning to look, we saw a young man in a suit emerge.
He stared coldly at the old servant, speaking each word with deliberate clarity: "Let him go."
The old servant narrowed his eyes and scoffed, "Who are you? We are the Colton Family of South City. If you don’t want to die, get lost!"
"I said, let him go!" Yet the young man paid no mind to the old servant’s words!
Dangling in the air, I was caught off guard by the appearance of the newcomer!
"Ca...Roberts Joshua?" I managed to choke out the name.
The old servant, meanwhile, seemed somewhat irritated.
He flung me aside and turned his gaze toward Roberts Joshua.
"What’s with today? So many fools looking to die," the old servant said, squinting his eyes.
Then he glanced toward Bernard Colton.
Bernard waved a hand and said coldly, "Anyone who gets in the way—kill them."
"Understood," the old servant replied with a slight bow, before striding toward Roberts Joshua.
Roberts cast a glance at me and said coldly, "Get to the car."
Frowning, I said, "Let me help you. This Old Thing isn’t simple."
Roberts frowned and said sternly, "I told you to get to the car and look after Miss Sean!"
Seeing Roberts so adamant, I decided not to press further and turned toward the car.
As soon as I got inside, Mabel hurriedly asked, "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine." I shook my arm and then, half-jokingly, said, "Give me a few more days, and I’ll take that old man down in one move!"
The difference between the Foundation Establishment Stage and the Qi Refining Stage was like night and day. I was entirely confident that once I broke through, the entire Colton Family of South City would be insignificant.
Outside the car, Roberts Joshua stood with his hands clasped behind his back, silently observing the old servant.
The old servant sneered, "Kid, there’s still time to regret your choice."
