Chapter 84: 84- Fall For Me
Sienna’s face turned red when she saw Hunter entering the lobby. This morning when she woke up, he had already left the bed and wasn’t home.
And now, while talking to Nora, her eyes kept darting to the man as he walked to an employee, asking for some report.
Chewing her lower lip, she turned back and found Nora looking at her with a mischievous grin, "How does it feel to be the wife of the hottest man?"
Sienna was taken aback by the unexpected query, "Nora," Her eyes widened, but Nora had now gotten serious, "I’m sorry that you just lost your father, but... he was wrong when he said that you’re a classic bitch. You’re nothing like what we were told."
Sienna wasn’t aware how to react to that.
Her father was very much alive, and in this life, she was exactly what he had called her.
A classic bitch.
Nora had gotten busy with the phone calls when a familiar voice whispered near her ear, "Thinking of me?"
Sienna turned her head with a faint smile and found Hunter standing too close to her. He held her to kiss her cheek, "You look beautiful," He said loudly, and Sienna couldn’t even smile properly.
Several questions started racing in her head.
Why did I ask him to sign the contract?
Why can’t he be real with me instead of faking it in front of everyone?
Why can’t I share my pain with him like a real wife?
Will he believe me that this is another life, another chance, offered to me?
Pressing her lips into a thin line, she sighed and watched Hunter walking away. Last night, the way he lay beside her, offering her comfort, was so heartwarming.
Tom had never done that. No one ever had.
She closed her eyes, and when she opened them, she found a female employee discussing something with Hunter. She was standing close to him.
Umm, that was too close.
She clenched her jaw as she approached them, "Hunter. Can you come to my office?" She forced a sweet smile on her face.
"In a minute," Hunter said without even looking up.
What the hell!
"Hunter, it’s urgent!" She said before climbing the stairs, but Hunter still didn’t look up and just nodded.
Asshole!
She went inside her office and slammed it shut.
Can’t he see how close she was standing? And who discusses work like this? There is a certain decorum in an office, and everyone is supposed to follow it.
Her head snapped up at the sharp knock at the door. He was standing there with a brow cocked up.
She gestured towards the chair, "Sit," he closed the door and did as she said.
"Is everything good?" He asked casually, sitting down, and then his face turned up. Something was wrong.
She was still standing, staring at him with one hand on her hip.
"You can take a seat, Sienna," He pointed towards the head chair, "My neck will start hurting if I keep it in this position."
She narrowed her eyes and started pacing, "My office has certain decorum that everyone needs to follow..."
She looked at his face for confirmation, and he slowly nodded his head, as if trying to understand what this was all about.
"You two were too close..." When Hunter opened his mouth to say something, she placed her finger on her lips, "Shh. That’s way out of line that I’m speaking, and you’re trying to interrupt, Hunter. Don’t forget I’m also your boss."
Hunter closed his mouth and looked at the surface of the desk, "When you discuss something with your colleagues... especially... your female colleagues... you need to keep... a certain distance."
Hunter managed just one word, "Oh."
"The thing is, Hunter... Wh...why are you standing up? I’m not finished yet," He had started walking towards her and then yanked her into his arms, pressing her tightly against him.
"How much distance do you think I should maintain?" He asked her, bringing his face closer.
"I ... I mean... I was just... reminding you... she was too close..." Sienna swallowed hard, and Hunter had to fight the urge to laugh.
"How close was she?" He pulled her more into him, "Tell me, menace. Was it making you jealous?"
"Yes, obviously I was... what? Jealous? No!" She tried to push him, but couldn’t even move him.
"Tell me, menace," His voice dropped to a whisper, "Are you falling for me?"
"What?" Sienna’s heart skipped a beat, "You must be out of your fucking mind if you think that I’ll fall..."
He didn’t let her complete as his mouth crashed over hers. Sienna didn’t hold back. She couldn’t.
This time, she opened her mouth willingly, welcoming his tongue, letting him taste her. She moaned into his mouth as she held his shirt in her fists and ground her mouth to his like it was not enough.
She didn’t mind it when she felt his hand on her ass, holding it tight. When he detached his mouth, they both were fighting for Oxygen as he leaned his forehead over hers.
"What’re you doing to me, menace?"
"And... what you are doing to me... Hunter..." She managed in between her labored breaths.
"All I’m trying to do is make you fall for me."
Sienna chuckled as she shook her head in disbelief. A knock on the door made Hunter groan before pulling away.
Sienna was pleased that the kiss had affected him the same way as her. She fixed her hair and lightly slapped her cheeks a few times to reduce the flush on her face.
"Yes?" she said, rolling her lips between her teeth, and walked to her seat.
Nora walked inside, and then her eyes traveled from Hunter to her madam boss.
"I’m sorry for interrupting... but I need to submit these files, madam boss." None of them missed the amusement in her voice.
"Yes, thank you," Sienna tried to smile, "Anything else?"
Nora thought for a moment and then shrugged, "Your sister Ruby... she called to inform that she won’t be coming today."
"Oh!" Sienna mumbled.
Interesting.
Sienna saw Hunter sitting across her with his laptop and couldn’t move her eyes away from his face.
Hunter caught her staring at him as a lazy smirk appeared on his lips. Sienna smiled back, thinking about what he had said just a few minutes ago.
"All I’m trying to do is make you fall for me."
