Chapter 523: Chapter 523: No Antidote

Walker Grant held Noah in his arms, feeling the child’s warmth, a dull ache spreading through his heart.

He thought of his older brother, Julian Grant.

Ever since they were children, his older brother had always protected him. No matter what he did, his brother would shield him from the consequences.

But now, he couldn’t even protect his brother’s only child.

Walker Grant closed his eyes, suppressing the anguish deep within them.

Noah quickly fell asleep. He laid the child on the bed in the room, and when he turned around, he saw Sunny Reed peeking around the doorway.

He walked straight over to her.

Sunny Reed stumbled back several steps, not daring to even look at him.

Walker Grant looked at her with cold eyes. "Did you know? The poison you gave him has no antidote."

Hearing this, Sunny Reed froze. She looked at him and shook her head. "That’s impossible."

’Grandma said that woman was brilliant—that for every poison she created, she also made a corresponding antidote.’

’So, she had chosen the most potent poison that wouldn’t be immediately fatal.’

’Once she had secured her place by her son’s side, she would secretly give him the antidote.’

"In that case, have you gotten the antidote over the past few days?"

Before she could even finish her thought, Walker Grant’s voice cut in.

At his words, Sunny Reed’s face paled, and her lips trembled. "Wh-what do you mean?"

But Walker Grant didn’t want to look at her any longer and left, heading straight downstairs.

Sunny Reed stood frozen to the spot, her whole body trembling.

’Did Walker Grant find the person who made the poison?’

’He couldn’t get the antidote, that’s why he’s saying this.’

’How could this be...’

’How could this have happened?’

’If there’s no antidote, doesn’t that mean my son is going to die soon?’

’If my son dies, what will I do?’

’What about my future of wealth and luxury?!’

Sunny Reed was in a panic. She wanted to go to Noah’s side right then, but the bodyguards blocked her.

"Mr. Grant has given orders. You are only allowed to accompany the Young Master for two hours a day. The rest of the time, you are to stay in the nanny’s room."

Sunny Reed shook her head. "No, you can’t do this! I have to see my son! You can’t stop me, that’s my son..."

She tried to force her way in, but a bodyguard grabbed her and threw her into the nanny’s room.

Inside the small room, no matter how much she yelled and pounded on the door, no one came to let her out.

She took out her phone and dialed Susan Bowman’s number. After three rings, the call connected. "Sunny, why are you calling me at this hour?"

"Grandma, what do I do? There’s no antidote!" Sunny Reed was so frantic she was about to cry.

Susan Bowman froze. "What do you mean?"

Sunny Reed grabbed at her hair. "The poison has no antidote! Have you gotten in touch with that woman? Did she give you the antidote?"

It was only then that Susan Bowman seemed to understand. "She never replied to my messages... Sunny, are you saying there’s no antidote for the poison? Then doesn’t that mean your son..."

"Yes... my son is going to die." Sunny Reed burst into tears and collapsed to the floor. "What do I do? My son is going to die, what am I supposed to do?"

Susan Bowman was stunned too. She had never imagined that Rhonda Lowe wouldn’t have developed an antidote.

She was dazed for a moment, then said, "Don’t be scared, don’t be scared. Noah Grant is the only child of the next generation of the Grant family. He’s the heir to the Grant Group. Walker Grant will never let him die. Don’t panic. Just be obedient during this time. Don’t do anything to make Walker Grant unhappy, and he won’t kick you out."

Sunny Reed sobbed, "Grandma, will that really work?"

"Trust me. When have I ever lied to you?" Susan Bowman soothed her.
