Chapter 1997: Chapter 1791: Fa Zheng and Sima Yi

As Huchuquan shouted, everyone who saw him suppressing the Nu Rong dropped their weapons. Although the White Horse Soldiers didn’t stop, and still took down many, they ultimately halted their blades.

Fa Zheng’s easy and calm demeanor rare showed a gloomy shade; he truly hadn’t estimated the opponent’s decisiveness.

[Should I pretend I didn’t hear it and just finish them off?] Fa Zheng caught up from behind, hesitating as he watched the White Horse Soldiers who had already ceased.

[Forget it, they’ve stopped now. If we act again, the White Horse Soldiers have an acceleration phase, which wouldn’t be advantageous here, and Zilong is not suited for this kind of task.] Fa Zheng slowly restrained the gloom on his face, adopting a calm expression.

"Everyone put down your weapons." Zhao Yun commanded coldly. Huchuquan hesitated for a moment and decided to comply. Soon, the entire Central Camp resonated with clinking sounds.

On the other side, when the Huns in the Central Camp began to lower their weapons, Sima Yi’s face darkened, and he grunted, "Let’s go and see who has arrived?"

At that moment, Sima Yi was truly furious. He had calculated everything, yet in the end, he was left making a wedding dress for someone else. The Chanyu of the Southern Huns chose not to surrender to him but to the northern newcomer.

[I initially planned to give you a way out. Since you’ve done this, I’m no longer Sima Yi if I don’t finish you off!] Sima Yi’s eyes were chillingly cold.

Upon hearing Sima Yi’s words and witnessing the Southern Huns’ passiveness, Cao Ang and the others realized the battle was won. They were full of admiration for Sima Yi, but due to his gloomy face, dared not express excessive praise.

Cao Ang brought along the entire generation of the Cao Family, then tasked Dian Mann with leading a group of escorts towards the Southern Huns’ Central Camp. Along the way, everyone had a look of anticipation; this was arguably the biggest event they had undertaken in their lives.

On the other side, under Fa Zheng’s instruction, Zhao Yun casually slew the Nu Rong, showcasing a momentum that terrified Huchuquan and Liu Qubi to their core, causing them to forget everything they had previously plotted with Liu Bao.

"Oh, so Chang’an has rebelled? No wonder we were notified to head south first." Fa Zheng spoke with a touch of mockery on his face to Liu Bao, who was nervously explaining.

With the combination of information from both sides and Liu Bao’s best efforts to relay what Sima Yi had promised, Fa Zheng clearly understood the cause and effect, as well as the underlying reasoning.

"You’ve made a wise choice; quite commendable." Fa Zheng casually glanced at the three, his will to control the fate of thousands and the grand scheme of the world subtly revealing a trace, causing the three to lose all thought of resistance.

Though unsure who this young man was, from the aura he emanated, the trio realized he was likely a figure truly wielding power over part of the world.

"The Northern Huns have been eradicated, leaving only you Southern Huns," Fa Zheng’s peaceful tone conveyed words that chilled the trio, "You are indeed fortunate, just as you were when you broke with the Northern Huns."

All three swallowed, believing the Han Dynasty would triumph, but never imagined the Northern Huns had been eradicated.

Perhaps seeing their expressions, Fa Zheng suddenly wore an icy smile, "I think with all the Huns gone, as creators of the term Hun, you should also fade into history, don’t you agree?"

Upon hearing this, Huchuquan, Liu Qubi, and Liu Bao’s hairs stood on end. Liu Bao stammered, "We are willing to herd horses on the Northern Frontier for the Han Dynasty, all who oppose the Han are our enemies. We are willing to abandon our Hun surnames, adopt Han surnames, and change customs!"

Fa Zheng raised an eyebrow, surprised there was someone insightful among the Southern Huns, "What’s your name?"

"I am Liu Bao," Liu Bao replied humbly.

"Rest assured, I was merely speaking, I won’t really act, as long as you don’t seek death yourselves, we can remain at ease." Fa Zheng shrugged as he spoke, but he was indeed observing their expressions closely; Liu Bao seemed wholly submissive, while Huchuquan and Liu Qubi clearly harbored a trace of resistance.

Although Fa Zheng’s words appeared casual, none among the trio dared treat them as idle chatter, for when he had previously suggested the eradication of the Southern Huns into the annals of history, his smiling visage carried not a hint of killing intent, yet his clear eyes were devoid of jest; such a temperament truly viewed the Huns as ants.

Zhao Yun assigned Li Tiao to protect Fa Zheng, while he began to collect Southern Hun captives. Although the Southern Huns had surrendered, Zhao Yun, cautious by nature, remained wary, for in Fa Zheng’s current position, if he were seized, exchanging life for life, would indeed be catastrophic.

"Oh, it seems our little friends have arrived too, Ziqian, go fetch them." Fa Zheng glanced and noticed a group of Cao Soldiers escorting people coming closer, then turned his head to Zhao Jin.

Zhao Jin clasped his hands in a courteous salute and rode over to welcome Sima Yi’s party, guiding them to Fa Zheng.
